“ | Do not remember heroes. Do not speak their names. Remember my words, but do not speak my name. I have a vision of a Galaxy overrun by mankind from Core to rim. Of four hundred billion stars each enslaved to the rhythms of Earth's day, Earth's year. I have a vision of a trillion planets pulsing to the beat of a human heart. And I have a vision of a child. Who will grow up knowing neither family nor comfort. Who will not be distracted by the illusion of a long life. Who will know nothing but honor and duty. Who will die joyously for the sake of mankind. That is a hero. And I will never know her name. Always remember: a brief life burns brightly. | „ |

“ | What is the purpose of the great churning of human history—all our striving, our wars and our peace, our colonizing and our retreats? Surely it is to explore ways in which humans can become the best we can possibly be. And the Transcendence is the highest expression of that deep ambition. | „ |

Summary
Humanity is one of the central species in the Xeelee Sequence, serving as both protagonist and underdog in a vast cosmic struggle. Their role is defined by their ambition, resilience, and relative insignificance in the universe dominated by godlike entities such as the Xeelee and the Photino Birds.
After overcoming a series of brutal occupations by extraterrestrial civilizations, humanity expands into the galaxy with an extremely xenophobic and militaristic outlook, with aims to exterminate other species they encounter. They eventually become the second-most advanced and widespread civilization in the Milky Way galaxy, after the Xeelee. Unaware of the Photino–Xeelee war and the existential ramifications of what is at stake, humanity come to the (unwarranted) conclusion that the Xeelee are a sinister and destructive threat to their hegemony and security, and begins to plan their attack to defeat them.

They are genetically engineered to counter radiation damage to their cells[47]), Gravity Manipulation (Can fill people with a fluid that lets them survive at 27 times Earth's gravity[48])
All previous abilities, plus Beyond-Dimensional Existence (Type 2), Abstract Existence (Type 1. Due to Configuration Space being abstract, its inhabitants are of a similar nature, such as disembodied consciousness), Conceptual Manipulation (Type 1), Causality Manipulation, Reality Warping (As inhabitants of Configuration Space, they can manipulate it to an extent, which is an abstract and Platonic world that trivializes the multiverse into unreality. They can manipulate the history and reality of the lower worlds)
All abilities from The Coalition, plus Beyond-Dimensional Existence (Type 2), Abstract Existence (Type 1. The Transcendence is the essence of mind, an abstract and ultimate unity of consciousness, and yet still being greater than it, beyond human imagination[49][50]. It encompasses ideas, beliefs, and understandings[51]), Omnipresence (Locations in space or time are irrelevant for the Transcendence. It is everywhere and nowhere. It encompasses all of space[52][53][54]), Acausality (Type 5. It transcends notions such as causalities and consequences. Even infinite tasks themselves are trivial compared to the Transcendence's nature[55]. It is eternal and unchanging[56]), Causality Manipulation (The Transcendence can change the past and manipulate the chains of causality of the universe[57]. Can retroactively erase people, making so they never had existed at all[58]), Resurrection (Can bring the dead back to life[59])
Attack Potency: Universe level (Considers GUT energy technology as "antiquated", "obsolete", and "primitive", whereas GUT energy is the energy that has once driven the expansion of the universe itself. Can release pulses of GUT energy and shoot bullets of GUT mass-energy[60][61][62]) | Outerverse level (As inhabitants of Configuration Space, they share its characteristics and can manipulate it to an extent, which is an abstract and Platonic world that triviliazes the multiverse to the point of unreality[63]) | Outerverse level (The Transcendence has its superiority described as a discontinuity, a step change, being of a completely different and qualitative order of reality compared to everything that came before, with there being no commonality between it and the lower realities that it trivializes. It transcends space, time, and causality)

Technology/Equipment:
- Laser-Guns: They have access to laser weapons that shoot projectiles at lightspeed.[74]
- Singularity Cannons: Cannon barrels that can shoot black hole singularities.[75]
- Starbreakers: Starbreakers are weapons that fire distinctly red rays of coherent gravity with enough power to destroy stars and worlds. They also rip apart anything that is material.[76]
- Monopole Weapons: An object with the size of an atomic nucleus, a monopole is composed out of a series of layers with differing properties. They make use of bosons, electromagnetic forces, weak nuclear forces, and Grand Unification energy. These monopoles are used as spacetime projectiles to bypass Xeelee defenses. Targets affected by a monopole have their very substance torn apart, their atoms dissociated.
- Snowflakes: Stations that use surveillance/sensory technology, providing data on both hostile actions of the Xeelee, as well as any possible insurgances within the population of the Coalition on galactic scale.[77][78]
- CTC Computers: Composed out of a number of FTL capable probes travelling inside a series of tubes in millisecond long time loops, the CTC computers are capable of getting answers to the computational problems in zero time. Such capabilities are possible due to the nature of acausal time travel.
- Library of Futures: The Library of Futures is one of the key elements of the human war effort against the Xeelee. The Library of Futures maps a variety of the futures of mankind, allowing humans to respond to the future events in their interstellar war, as well as orchestrate the most optimal, of the possible for them, outcomes of the events.[79]
- Gravastar Shield: The Gravastar shielding system was the response to the basic time travel foreknowledge. By creating a pocket universe around a given region of space, one that is causally disconnected from the outside universe, one can prevent this type of time travel based foreknowledge from working. The reason for this is the fact that all of the possible wordlines terminate on the event horizon making up this shield, making it thus impossible to predict future events which are, at least partially, influenced by the events happening below said horizon.[80]
- Clock of Humanity: A machine the size of a star. It uses the decay of certain types of subatomic particles, called W and Z bosons, to produce pulses of neutrinos.[81]
Intelligence: Supergenius (Humanity eventually became the second-most advanced and widespread civilization, only below the Xeelee. Even one of their very first/oldest technological achievements involved the manipulation of GUT energy, the energy that has once driven the expansion of the universe itself. They can create a pocket universe causally disconnected from the outside universe, as well as create a library of futures that maps a variety of the futures of mankind, allowing them to respond to the future events in their interstellar war, orchestrating the most optimal outcomes for them. Even teenagers could build miniature wormholes in their basement. A single human in a laboratory could develop living logical/axiomatic creatures in order to discover new mathematical/logical systems) | Nigh-Omniscience (The Transcendence is cognizant/aware of the universe as a whole, of all space and time. It has a full understanding of all the physics of the universe, which includes four-dimensional structures and other higher dimensions[82][83][84])
Weaknesses: The Interim Coalition is extremely corrupt, inflexible, and intolerant to proper change in anything but war, and even in the matter of war it must "follow the doctrine." This leads them to committing bafflingly incompetent and self-destructive tactics for no discernible reason. | None notable. | None notable.
