“ | Everyone's the hero of their own story. So when you find out there are other stories where you don't even rate a mention, it sucks. But I'll tell you something. I've been paying attention. To the redshirts. To the background extras. The day players. They're people too. Even if the powers that be don't think of 'em that way. If, in this whole war, all you do is save one guy... you are the most important person in that guy's world. | „ |
~ Gwenpool to Superior Spider-Man, teaching him what she has learned during her journey |
Summary
Gwendolyn Poole was just a normal girl, living an unsatisfactory life and with a fierce passion for Marvel Comics, when one day she was mysterious transported within the exciting world of her beloved stories. Extremely galvanized at this prospect, Gwen donned a costume and took on the identity of Gwenpool, determined to have the most fun of her new life. Extremely erratic, reckless and borderline psychotic, Gwen viewed herself as the protagonist of the story and the world around her as a playground, uncaring for even the lives of others, for they were expendable fictional characters. However, things quickly escalated and slipped out of her hands, making her bitterly realize the harsh truth: she was not in control .
Gwen change of heart began, but she still did not give up her mercenary activities, first under M.O.D.O.K. and then on her own. At the same time, Gwen also got in touch with a variety of superheroes, with much strain of her moral compass and their nerves. Her life took a strong swerve when her long-lost brother seemingly returned the two of them to their original world, but this turned out being a deception whose only result was awakening Gwen's powers of manipulating reality as if it was actually one of her comic books.
Upon overcoming an evil version of herself from the future, Gwen ultimately realized the love she had come to feel for the characters of this world, not as imaginary figures anymore, but instead as real people who give meaning to her life. Gwenpool's existence has been constantly threatened by the awareness that a lack of popularity may result in the cancelation of her comics, a burden whic kept pushing against her will of being a better person. In the end, Gwen managed to turn herself into a mutant, thus securing a solid spot among the X-Men. Having the chance to also resume life as she had adabandoned it brought a real wind of change in Gwen's character, as she was now free to explore more of her own self without the constant ruckus that troubles the lives of the superheroes.

Name: Gwendolyn "Gwen" Poole, The Unbelievable Gwenpool, epithets "Ghost Ninja", "Ghostface No Pants Killer"
Origin: Marvel Comics
Gender: Female
Age: Chronologically 27,[1] but stuck at 19[2] due to Marvel's sliding timescale
Classification: Human, Mercenary | Mutant, X-Man, Mercenary
Powers and Abilities:
- Weapon Proficiency (Used to have a surprisingly poor aim because of her inexperience,[3][4] but some sessions of training[5] with Batroc revealed her natural inclination[6] for firearms. Hit a Hydra agent on the forehead[7] with a throwing knife. Capable of handling swords[8] with decent[9] technique)
- Minor Martial Arts (Was called out for being a terrible fighter several times,[7][4][6] but later she took lessons from Batroc and became quite good at kicking[6], especially[6] when it comes to performing leg sweeps.[6] Even before training, she was able to perform a split kick[9] [possibly because of her powers related to acrobatics]. Took down an mob of armed men[10] without using any weapon)
- Vehicular Mastery (Performed a series of extraordinary maneuvers[11] on a motorcycle in order to stylishly steal an item from Black Cat and her associates. Rode in an out of a building passing through the windows[9] of the third floor and then did a few more stuns.[9] Later in her life, Gwen demonstrated great skill in surfing[12] on Silver Surfer's board, seemingly without the need of previous training)
- Stealth Proficiency (Escaped from under Rocket Raccoon and Groot's nose, then later infiltrated into their car unnoticed.[9] Placed several bombs on police cars amidst a crowd without anyone noticing.[13] Snuck up to M.O.D.O.K.'s best soldier and pushed him[14] into his doom)
- Social Influencing (Her vast knowledge on the Marvel universe grants her great leverage on its super inhabitants, as she knows all their secret identities,[15] their associates,[11] the places[4] they frequent[16][17] and so on, all information which she has often[4] used[18] at her advantage. Killed three sentries by playing dumb[8] and inducing them to lower their guard. Pretended to be afraid of her enemy in order to lead him into a trap[8] she had set up beforehand. Convinced Deadpool to spare her and become her ally by using his own logic against him.[10] By manipulating literary tropes, she made Wither and Elixir fall in love with her[1][19])
- Preparation (Learned how to make bombs and set up a powerful explosive[8] to get rid of an enemy much stronger than her. Possesses a large stock of weaponry[6] and often has the economic resources to stay well-armed and equipped)
- Explosion Manipulation and Adhesivity (Knows how to make and set up bombs.[8] Filled a bag with bombs[13] and used them to blow up several police cars. Usually carries grenades[14] and other explosives[20] as standard equipment. Has access to a variety[6] of other explosives, including adhesive mines[6])
- Smoke Manipulation (Via smoke bombs[6])
- Forcefield Creation (Via a single-use shield generator[6] which is apparently rather common [and cheap] on the market)
- Immortality (Types 1, 8 and 9), Multilocation and Acausality (Types 2, 3 and 4) (People don't actually age in the Marvel universe, unless the higher creative force decides to make them older.[12] Despite perceiving the effects of the actual passage of time, Gwenpool's age is frozen to an archetypical number[2] because of the effects of Marvel's sliding timescale.[1] Upon becoming part of Marvel Comics, she began following its rules, meaning she did not exist in its past[15] before her first appearance. Gwen's own timestream follows the order of the comic book pages and not the chronological progression of the plot itself.[12] Gwen's life takes place, has taken place and will take place any time someone reads her comic books, and she live and will live in video games, toys, guest-star appearances in other comics, fan arts, fan fictions and roleplay Twitter accounts, and can always be brought back by whoever decides to writer her stories.[12] When the higher creative force which governs Marvel itself attempted to ultimately annihilate Gwen, they had to go as far as beginning the erasure of her whole continuity,[21] turning even the higher-dimensional Gutter Space into a black hole)
- Minor Probability Manipulation (Awareness of the meta-narrative rules that govern the Marvel universe allows Gwenpool to behave in a way that allows her to induce[16] or avoid[3] certain[20] outcomes.[22] However, she doesn't possess neither control nor technical knowledge[5] regarding these processes, acting more according to guesswork[23][24] or trial and error,[20] which may even lead to backfires[14] due to her hubris. Her future self, upon realizing that the inhabitants of Krakoa where involved in a series of "romance comic books", decided to take part into them and so induced a few literary tropes which made both Wither and Elixir fall in love with her nearly instantly[1][19])
- Minor Precognition (Awareness of the number of the issue[14] she is in and the general mechanics of story arcs grants her the ability to make educated assumptions holding more weight than pure speculation[25][26])
- Hammerspace (Rocket Raccoon & Groot Gwen pulled out[27] a pair of giant machine guns out of nowhere)
- Fate Manipulation (Gwenpool's first superpower was the unconscious ability to influence the world and the people around her as long as she believes to be the "star" of the story,[28] bending the course of events in even unlikely ways in order to guarantee the success of her undertakings; because of this, Batroc baptized it as "the mysterious ability to win".[29] Such ability fluctuates, as it occasionaly simply doesn't[9] work[30] or depends of Gwen's state[4] of mind.[6] At times it also operates in mysterious ways, such as making her experience apparent defeat and suffer losses,[14] while then achieving victory[16] at the end if she regains her confidence. Gwenpool herself was either unaware of such ability or unable to fully grasp[6] its mechanics. After her awakening, Gwen's control over these powers and their potency increased even more, to the point that she could best powerhouses such as Doctor[31] Doom,[32] Ultron, Malekith, Magneto, Mephisto and Dormammu.[12] Such occurrences often induce[16] incredulity in everyone[32] who witness them, who finds no logical answer to how they could have happened. A team of various Gwenpools managed to defeat the Hulk, withstanding one direct attack and suffering a single casualty.[27] Still, Gwen is no stranger to defeat, as she has been subdued or forced to retreat by the likes of Thor, Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel and the Fantastic Four in various occasions)
- Power Modification, Statistics Amplification and Reduction (Within the Marvel universe Gwen became able to achieve physical performances of strength and durability that would be out of the reach or straight up impossible for the untrained, common human she used to be. Her physical capabilities heavily depend on Gwen's state of mind, as seen when they reverted to normalcy for the time she was deprived of her memories and was made to believe she was in her home world.[33][34] Another decisive factor appears to be the situation itself, as her statistics have been known to suddenly spike from peak human/superhuman to unfathomably higher depending on the opponent she was confronting. Such ability also tampers with the statistics and abilities of other characters, such as making them sloppy fighters,[4] clumsy sharpshooters[28] or seemingly just weaker. Because of this, Gwenpool managed to go through an encounter with Thor[4] and have the better[16] of characters[10] such as M.O.D.O.K. and Deadpool. In another instance, she made a group of sentinels behave accordingly to the predictable patterns of an old X-Men arcade game.[14] Overtime, Gwen discovered that every mission not involving "narratively important characters" will be boringly easy[35] to accomplish. Made a random policeman forget all her previous crimes[36] simply because police is utterly incompetent within comics, while sparing officer Gray from this effect due to having already established a connection with her in the past[20])
- Superhuman Physical Characteristics
- Acrobatics (Can perform incredible stunts, such as backflipping from her bike to a car[9] standing behind, but only thanks to her protagonism powers. Jumped from a high-rise building to a lower one,[7] landing on a Hydra agent and knocking him out. Performed a split kick.[9] Slid under[6] M.O.D.O.K. and placed a bomb onto him. Parkoured across three containers[17])
- Dynamite Gams[37]
- Resistance to Causality Manipulation (Originating from another universe made her immune to Santa Claus's reality rewrite, which warped the world and its history, affecting even a being as might as Lifebringer Galactus[38])
Same as before, plus:
- Breaking the Fourth Wall (At first all the instances of breaking the fourth wall carried on by Gwenpool were performed according to the logics and rules of comic books which she believed to be true due to the origin, but they hardly qualified as a proper breaking of the fourth wall due to her "real world" actually existing[39][28] still within the Marvel omniverse,[5][40] which in turn is shown to be ruled by a "creative force" analogue to a comic book author, as better described here below. True instances of fourth wall breaking began to take place after her first awakening, when she intruded into the "letters to the editor"[33] section and spoke to the actual reader, moments before realizing her newfound powers. All throughout her Post-Awakening phase until the end of Unbelievable Gwenpool, Gwen has commented things such as the current number of issue she was in, the amount of pages that have passed or are left and finally even the title of her book. This was conveyed as an awareness she gradually developed, as seen during a dialogue with her past self, and at the very end of the last issue, she directly speaks to the reader.[12] Entertaining conversations with the audience has become a recurrent habit of hers from Gwenpool Strikes Back onwards. Shouted directly at the artist who was writing the very issue she was in[41])
- Enhanced Senses and Non-Physical Interaction (Became able to see and interact with things such as narratory[33] captions,[34] text boxes containing her own toughts,[34] and even panel borders[34], all elements which appear as un unperceivable abstractions[34] to everyone else.[36] Could watch Future Spider-Man's flashback in the way he was picturing it[28] in his mind. Can see speech bubbles and their different colors.[15] Can see and interact with sound effects.[42] Can also see her own thought bubbles and the various characters and fonts in which they are written.[21] Could see M.O.D.O.K.'s hallucinations [actually made-up memories],[43] something that no other character had been able to do before)
- Physics Manipulation (The excessive enlargement of a text box had physical repercussions on the real world.[34] Can manipulate panel borders in order to make them physical or elastic[27])
- Space-Time Manipulation and Portal Creation (Poked into the future with her pencil and erased the panel borders, causing several rifts in space which made different points in time adjacent to each other.[34] Ripped reality apart with her own hands, creating a connection between the fake pocket reality and the outer world.[39][28] Can physically lift and stretch[27] comic book panels)
- Dimensional Travel and consequent Higher-Dimensional Existence (Gwen's most noteworthy power has become the ability to freely enter[34] and exit[39] the Gutter Space, a trascendental realm where reality and history, in multiple possible combinations,[28] are seen as comic book pages. Gwen can also shift just some portions of her body[31] around corners of reality in order to dodge incoming attacks. Gwen describes it[36] as "the blink between the ticks of a clock" or "the lost memory between grammar school and college". This place is non-magical[32] and was utterly unreacheable[28] for everyone but Gwen, including Earth's mightiest heroes and multiple sorcerers supreme.[15] Although Dr. Doom's copy belittled[32] the Gutter Space as just one of many planes, he and the real Doctor Doom could enter and control it only after having been brought there by Gwen in the first place. The Gutter Space has been seen trascending even other higher-dimensional realms such as Mephisto's Hell and Dormammu's Dark Dimension. When involved in digital comics, the Gutter Space turns into a manifestation of the internet[1])
- Clairvoyance and Precognition (Within the Gutter Space different moments[34] of the past, the present[39] and the future[15] can be viewed as comic book pages. Gwen is usually surrounded by moments of her own life, but has demonstrated the ability to peer into[15] sceneries[21] where she is not present, if she wishes to. Gwen can even listen to characters[39] talking from the lower reality. Opening holes in reality allows her to peek into[39][28] the Gutter Space and other places. Knew how far she had to toss some bags full of gold[42] in order to make them land in the right future scene. When the Gutter Space turns into the internet, as a side-effect of digital comics, Gwen gains the chance to read the content of various websites, which manifest in place of comic book pages[1])
- Memory Restoration (Entering the Gutter Space brought back the memories[39] which had been forcibly taken away[28] from her)
- Dimensional Manipulation (It has been stated that Gwen can crumple time and space[39] like paper. She can also pull objects out of the lower world[39] and introduce them into the Gutter Space without the need of leaving it. While in this realm, Gwen can physically handle these pages and scatter them around,[28] causing the pasts and futures to intertwine and even fold in on her at once. Can physically stretch[2] the panels which represent reality. Stole Thor's rotting arm[27] from a sleeping Malekith without leaving the Gutter Space. Drew on a "page" and cut it away, causing the events depicted in there to have never happened[43])
- Size Manipulation (Gwen's size in comparison to the comic book pages varies considerably from time to time, ranging from dwarfing them completely to fitting her whole body within a single panel or simply being comparable to them)
- Further Multilocation (During a moment of stress and brief loss of control over her powers, Gwen simultaneously appeared in multiple places at the same time, performing different actions, talking to herself and moving both inside and outside different moments in space and time.[28] Later in time, Gwen has given further demonstrations[21] of her ability to simultaneously exist and act within the Gutter Space[27])
- Space-Time Travel (Gwen can walk through time and space[39] effortlessy, thus being able to enter the lower world at virtually any place and moment across reality and history, as well as their possible variations.[28] In this way, she can cross long distances[28] with ease and shift her positioning[31] in a manner akin to teleportation.[32] However, this ability is subjected to some limits, as better detailed in the Weaknesses section below. Gwen can also travel back in time[31] in order to help her past self and then become her. Tossed several bags full of gold[42] into future scenes. She can also create paradoxes by flashing back to events that have never occurred and make them happen.[21] Entered the Fantastic Four's basement by climbing over a panel.[2] Explored the maze-like Marvel Comics Continuity Abyss[27])
- Sealing (Trapped the Punisher into a paradoxical time loop[44])
- Acausality (Types 1 and further 4. The Gutter Space transcends history's possibilities branching.[28] Gwen seems to abide to her specific flow of time, both inside and outside the Gutter Space, as the existence of her future, evil self depended entirely on the safety[15] and choices[15] of her present self; because of this, her future version was erased the moment Gwen rejected the idea of becoming her,[15] while up until that she was just being progressively retconned[15] in real-time with every minor change in her own history. Can travel back in time to retcon herself[31] out of a difficult situation. Later in time, Gwen was uneffected by the death of one of her past versions, which she herself had pulled out of her time.[27] Trapped the Punisher into a paradoxical time loop manually carried out by her while also going on with her life[44])
- BFR and Possibly Existence Erasure (Can take people[36] from the real world to the Gutter Space,[32] condemning them to an endless fall which may end in their erasure from existence.[31] Only someone as capable as Doctor Doom managed to save himself on his own, while Trapster was simply restored into reality,[32] with no memories and a different outfit, by the higher force.[32] She has eventually learned to simply trap people in there, without dire consequences for them[45])
- Hacking (Due to the Gutter Space's ability to occasionally turning into the internet, Gwen was able to rewrite her school records, give herself a diploma through online classes she has never taken and then have herself accepted to Empire State University with a major in Game Design[46])
- Transmutation, Sleep Manipulation and Duplication (Upon striking Doctor Doom with a common sword, she inadvertently inflicted a deep "paper wound" which released[31] a paper memory representing what she believed being the actual, stereotypical version of him. This caused the real Doctor Doom to enter a comatose state, from which he recovered only when people began to doubt in the authenticity[32] of the copy and instead believe in his real self)
- Durability Negation (Sliced right through Doctor Doom, dealing a wound beyond physical durability. Her "meta" powers allowed her to hurt Mister Fantastic's elastic body with just a simple bite[2])
- Sound Manipulation (Can grab sound effects[42] in order to silence them. Her yells can breach the boundaries of the comic book[41] and reach the artist that is drawing it. Shut up two guys by pushing their own speech bubbles[45] back into their mouths)
- Reality Warping, Plot Manipulation and Causality Manipulation (Upon realizing she had only a limited amount of pages left[12] before the end her comic book, Gwen triggered a series of events across different time periods, complete with their own already-occurred plot sequences, in order to live her life at the utmost and tie up all the loose threads left in her personal story. Some of these events were so sudden and bizarre to cause stupor even in their protagonists themselves.[12] By manipulating things occurring off-panel, a.k.a. the Gutter Space, she could turn her empty future into a myriad of new possibilities.[21] Made the author of her own comic spill his coffee,[41] causing it to actually rain on the Fantastic Four depicted in the nearby panel. Upon changing her mind about killing M.O.D.O.K., Gwen physically cut away the pages depicting the murder and making it so it never happened in the first place[43])
- Magic (Basic level. Could obtain a magic rocket launcher[12] from Agamotto)
- Astral Projection (Spontenously manifested herself in Deadpool's thoughts[47] and entertained a brief conversation with him)
- Enhanced Weapon Mastery, Martial Arts and Acrobatics (By the time of her stint in the West Coast Avengers, Gwenpool has improved her combat abilities considerably. She has often been referred to as a weapon expert[48][49] and in possession of serious fighting skills[50] and has indeed been using swords and firearms with greater finesse. Utilized a triple grappling hook gun to swing around giant Tigra's arm[51] and shut the jaws of a dragon.[51] Sliced apart a hellfire wolf in mid-air and landed clean on her feet.[52] Cleared a room full of enemy henchmen with ease and grace.[50] Has fought vampires[53][54] and frost giants.[25] Performed a flying ambush[43] on M.O.D.O.K., blocked his chainsaw in mid-air, nimbly dodged his rolling attack and replied with her own projectiles)
- Organic Manipulation (Has access to a gun that [also] shoots creampuff[48])
- Subjective Reality (Can enter her own imagination and cause the events occurring there to become reality, overwriting even her very being.[21] Gwen herself compares her reality warping powers over what occurs "off-panel" to Scarlet Witch's.[2] Stopped Deadpool in time[2] during a conversation with the audience. Imagined a false flashback and made it into a retroactive truth.[41] Found Bruce Banner by imagining herself[41] doing it. Forced her mind into imaginining a new backstory for her own character[44] and, even though she did not believed in it, such a story still became real, retconning herself into a mutant)
- Light Manipulation (Plunged the Gutter Space in darkness and then turned on a spotlight[2] for Deadpool)
- Creation (Made a few backgrounds[2] appear within the blank Gutter Space. Made her own sales data appear from nowhere.[41] Brought a whole island into existence over the span of three days.[41] Manifested several jars full of bees and a bee costume.[44] Brought into existence a box capable of containing the Hulk and a shirt for Captain America and Iron Man.[44] Made a door appear on a previously empty wall.[44] Made a text box into a real, solid object with which even other characters could interact.[43] Regularly makes various things appear in the Gutter Space)
- Law Manipulation (Established a whole set of videogame-like rules to enable a battle royale amongst the heroes, while also keeping them safe[41])
- Power Nullification (The lounge of her island is equipped with a nullifier[41] which blocked the powers of a variety of heroes)
- Summoning (Willed[2] Deadpool by her side to aid her in her mission. Summoned Christopher Hastings, her first writer, in the form of a giant cloud.[27] Formed a squad featuring various versions of herself[27] from different points in time)
- Power Bestowal (Upon being called in for help, Gwenpool's Pre-Awakening versions acquired her same ability[27] to manipulate the Gutter Space)
- Energy Projection (Possesses a sword capable of releasing a wave of cutting energy[43] from its handle)
- Limited Resistance to Plot Manipulation (Gwen and her future, evil self could operate against the will of the creative force[15] which dictates everything within Marvel Comics, forcing them to intervene in order to fix their misdeeds. Gwen and her future self have respectively engaged in a competition of self-preservation against the creative force, which could dictate their fate only indirectly. The difference between the two Gwens lies in the fact that the evil one embraced her destiny of becoming a villain, as the higher will seemingly wanted, and thus accepting her out-of-the-script actions and cleaning the mess left behind by her. Conversely, Gwen decided to play according to her own heart and craft her destiny on her own, fighting against the higher will and try to wrest control of her future at the risk of ending up being deleted alongside her comic books.[15][32] Gwenpool's very life and history is a demonstration of her ability to control her destiny in spite of the plans the creators have for her.[12] Gwen's whole odyssey across the Gwenpool Strikes Back miniseries revolves around her efforts to not be canceled or retconned)
Attack Potency: Varies (Gwenpool's powers automatically adjust the strength of either her, her opponent or perhaps both to induce an outcome in which she is either victorious or at least manages to survive. This was made most blatant when she confronted characters much stronger than her average self, as better explained above), at least Street level (Despite her fluctuating power level, Gwenpool consistently displays a minimum, settled level of strength. Has frequently kicked doors down[39][23][55] with ease, which should require such levels of force. Sliced Rocket Racoon's gun in half[9] with her sword. Beat up a mob of armed men[10] using only her bare hands) up to Building level (When her powers kick in, she becomes able to compete with opponents much stronger than her. Notably, she sliced through[10] Deadpool's chest with a sword strike, Moreover, she destroyed M.O.D.O.K. Superior's eye and mechanical legs[6] with purely physical attacks), up to Small Building level with her weapons (Her explosives generate large explosions and her rocket launcher could instantly turn a man into ashes,[4] which would require such levels of force)
Speed: At least Transonic (Evaded several attacks from M.O.D.O.K., outrunning even his firearms and missiles.[6] Grabbed onto a subway train[29] moving at top speed. Most likely comparable to her future self, due to having experienced little physical improvements and have been portrayed as comparable to her[27]), Subsonic to Supersonic with her weapons (Firearms such as pistols, machine guns and rocket launchers reach such levels)
Lifting Strength: Likely Varies, at least Peak Human (Launched Howard the Duck with enough strength[7] to knock out a Hydra agent. Could grab and hold on onto subway train[29] moving at top speed, although it caused her light injuries. The awakening of her physical powers didn't influence her physical attributes, meaning she should be comparable to her future self)
Striking Strength: Varies, at least Street level and up to at least Building level
Durability: Varies, at least Wall level (On average, Gwenpool demonstrates to be at minimum around such levels. Was violently rammed by a speeding car,[23] which should have carried such levels of force, and got up a few moments later having seemingly suffered only mild damage. Was apparently unhurt after falling from a high rise building down into a truck full of ducks.[11] Was completely fine after landing head first onto a foot-thick window.[14] Pre Awakening, Unbelievable Gwenpool Gwen survived being crushed by the Hulk, but her Champions self, from a slightly earlier point in time, could not make it[27])
Attack Potency: Varies, at least Street level physically on average (Comparable to her past self. Knocked out a shark with a single punch[49]), up to Building level with her weapons (Has access to the same equipment. Her new energy sword bisected[43] M.O.D.O.K. Superior with a single blast) and up to Outerverse level with her powers (Defeated[12] Ultron, Malekith and Magneto by ramming them over on Silver Surfer's board. Knocked out Mephisto in Hell with a single kick. Was able to somehow meet Agamotto and have him craft her a magic rocket launcher strong enough[12] to subdue Dormammu within his own Dark Dimension. Her future self could influence[15] even Eternity itself, although the means through which she accomplished such a feat are unknown) and within the Gutter Space (This realm has been seen transcending other higher-dimensional locations such as Hell and the Dark Dimension.[12] It was shown to be below only the will of the creative force,[15] identified as the creators, the writers or the fans)
Speed: At least Transonic (Could move in tandem with sound effects[42] and catch them before they could propagate. Dodged Captain America's attempt of catching her.[41] Outran[27] the Hulk for a while. Ducked under[43] M.O.D.O.K.'s laser), Subsonic to Supersonic with her weapons, Immeasurable within the Gutter Space
Lifting Strength: Likely Varies, at least Peak Human (Tossed in the air several bags full of gold bars.[42] Wielded an oversized rocket launcher.[12] Could swing a giant, double-handed hammer[56]), Immeasurable within the Gutter Space (Gwen sees entire blocks of reality, each containing a number of cosmologies within themselves, as comic book pages which she can handle[15] as if they were actual sheets of paper)
Striking Strength: Varies, at least Street level and up to at least Outerverse level
Durability: Varies , at least Wall level (At the very least equal to her previous self. Withstood a point-blank, localized explosion.[48] Endured being crushed[43] by a volley of M.O.D.O.K. armors which cratered the ground), up to Outerverse level with her powers (Withstood the recoil of the kick with which she knocked out Mephisto), Outerverse level within the Gutter Space
Stamina: At least Athletic (Gwenpool appears to be in an optimal physical condition and is able to engage in long-lasting battles and adventures)
Range: Standard Melee Range physically, up to Hundreds of Meters with weapons | Standard Melee Range physically, up to Hundreds of Meters with weapons, Outerversal with various abilities
Standard Equipment: A pair of pistols, two swords, grenades[14] or custom bombs,[20] cell phone
Optional Equipment: Knives,[7] machine guns[14], RPG,[4] sniper rifle,[6] various other guns and explosives,[6] single-use shield generator,[6] smoke bombs, adhesive bombs, assorted stereotypical anti-vampire gear[35] | Same as before, plus Magic Rocket Launcher, Multipurpose Gun (Grappling Hook and Creampuff), Giant Hammer,[56] Shuriken,[43] Energy Sword, pretty much whatever she can pull out of the Gutter Space or just wish into reality
Intelligence: Above Average
Before entering the Marvel universe, Gwen was substantially an average teenager. She initially depicted as obtuse and lacking in common sense for even blatant matters, but such a trait has been heavily toned down not long after. Some examples include mistaking the hideous effects of a virus (which she knew was a biological weapon) for common mumps[7] or simply speaking without really knowing what she is talking about.[23] She was later portrayed as much more level-headed, with only occasional lack of awareness.
Being a huge nerd of Marvel comics let her build an encyclopedic knowledge[38] of almost everything related to them [with the exception of Deadpool[10] and especially the Guardians of the Galaxy[9]], which inside their own world turned into extremely precious and convenient resources that came her in handy many times. Gwen has grown sensibly since entering the new world, taking on several mercenary jobs alone and with her partners, but also teaming up with groups of heroes, most notably the West Coast Avengers and the X-Men. She became a fine warrior, capable of utilizing actual combat techniques on top of her odd powers. Her greatest feat was, perhaps, taking down M.O.D.O.K. on their second encounter thanks to sheer fighting skill. Gwen is also very creative with her meta-narrative and reality-warping superpowers, as she utilizes them in a number of useful ways, as showcased in the respective section. Thanks to them, Gwen has managed to repeteadly put herself out of difficult situations and carry on through the many challenges that obstructed her way from time to time.
Solved a case of school bombing and prevented further incidents by guessing that the writer was recycling an old storyline.[30] Correctly deduced that a race of squid-like aliens would have had issues telling earthen species apart.[57] Quickly figured out Arcade's deception and immediately saw though his disguise.[55] Tricked all the most popular heroes into visiting her island, thus falling into her trap.[41] Some years after entering the Marvel Universe, Gwen joined the Empire State University and is seemingly keeping on with her studies.[45]
Standard Tactics: Before awakening her true powers, Gwenpool didn't have any sort of combat training and could at most handle weapons simply thanks to pure force of habit. She was extremely clumsy and much of the work was done by her subconscious ability to bend fate granting her an unfair advantage against her foes. Although she received a little training, Gwenpool still relied mostly on the sheer firepower and area of effect of automatic weapons and explosives, of which she was incredibly fond. Even after obtaining her reality-warping abilities, Gwen still preffered to meet her opponents in face-front, now with the aid of actual fighting abilities which she refined on the battlefield. The Gutter Space isn't used much as a combat tool but rather as either a way of escaping a dire situation or in order to harness its several, useful characteristics which allow Gwen to dictate the course of events in more subtle ways. At first Gwenpool had absolutely no qualms about killing people, but she gradually shifted towards less murderous tactics, although she never gave up such habit completely.
Weaknesses: Her fate-manipulating powers don't always work and they immediately ceased to have any effect on Deadpool when he realized he was confronting a fellow fourth-wall breaker.[10] Ever since entering Marvel Comics, Gwen has effectively become part of that world and abides to the rules of the creative force which governs it, even though she has still some wiggle room and can actively operate against the higher will.[15] Gwen cannot travel to alternate futures if her present has no way of changing, such as being locked in a cell, but she can still travel to the past. She also cannot jump into a scene which has not been portrayed by the creative force in the form of a comic book page.[42] However, this latter weakness has most likely been overcome the moment when she learned to manipulate events occurring off-panel. Her powers explicitly stop working depending on the whims of the author, an example being team books,[58] where she is forbidden from showcasing the true extent[21] of her abilities. The latter notion is made even more explicit by her victory and losses record, where depending on the situation, she managed to triumph over cosmic beings while also losing to regular superheroes.
