~ Guybrush Threepwood |
Summary
Guybrush Threepwood is the main protagonist of the Monkey Island series of computer adventure games by LucasArts. He was an awkward teenager whose sole ambition in life was to be a pirate. His primary talent is the ability to hold his breath for ten minutes and he certainly appears to be an unlikely candidate to be a buccaneer. He does exhibit plenty of persistence, however, and doggedly attempts to complete the three trials of piratehood.
In the course of exploring Mêlée Island, Guybrush meets and immediately falls in love with the Tri-Island Area's governor, Elaine Marley. Guybrush is not the only one interested in Marley, however. The ghost pirate LeChuck has long been smitten with her; Elaine, however, does not return his affection. She told him to 'drop dead', so he did. When the villain kidnaps Elaine, Guybrush is compelled to try to rescue her from LeChuck's lair on Monkey Island. She proved capable of protecting herself, easily escaping LeChuck's clutches. Guybrush, improbably enough, managed to destroy the ghost pirate LeChuck and became a fearsome pirate himself.

- Limited Acid and Corrosion (Drank grog[2] and downed a tankard without issue.[9] Grog is described as being one of the most caustic and volatile liquids known to man, with it being made of sulfuric/battery acid and constantly eating through the bar's mugs, even instantly melting through a jail's lock[1])
Attack Potency: Wall level, possibly higher (Warped a bank vault's steel door by breaking it's hinge with an old sword and using it as a lever in the crack.[4] Cut the head off a skeleton.[6] Beat up a disguised LeChuck.[1] Comparable to characters, who are capable of harming him)

Great at improvising as he once defeated LeChuck by combining random items from the abandoned warehouse to make a voodoo doll.[2] Managed to escape from being imprisoned on numerous occasions. Often finds unorthodox ways to pass challenges like shooting an opponent's banjo in a duel,[3] wearing a dunce hat to create a bigger splash in a diving contest[4] and distracted a judge to move a marker in order to win a spitting contest.[2] Able to disarm enemies by using comeback taunts.[1][3] Very capable of piloting a giant monkey robot.[4] Once deceived the game itself into thinking he's dead and initiated a fake ending.[3] Capable of using predestination paradoxes in order to help him escape being lost, as shown when he used a simple note in Lucre Island to help him travel through time, interacting with his future self and exchanging items to help navigate through a misty march, finishing the loop later with his past self[4])
Weaknesses: Normal human weaknesses.
