Attack Potency: Large Town level (After shooting the ground with multiple drills, it made a giant cave in with a drill punch[1]) | Multi-Continent level (Able to destroy a hammer, which hit Gurren Lagann with this much force[2]) | At least Multi-Continent level (Stronger then before. Tossed a collected cannon barrage back, destroying a large portion of the Moon's surface[3]) | High Complex Multiverse level (Simon was stated to be Gurren Lagann himself, the latter being an integration of all possible versions of itself in the Multiverse. Should be equal to Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann; a Gunmen which was also created by Simon himself, implied to have infinite Spiral Power flowing from within itself) | High Complex Multiverse level (Destroyed Super Granzeboma, after a Giga Drill clash. After Gurren Lagann emerged from Arc-Gurren Lagann, to clash drills, The Anti-Spiral was shocked, and stated that nobody should be able to withstand his power, implying he was using his full power)

Is fueled with Simon’s Spiral Power, which he has infinite amounts of. Spiral Power as the very energy which determines the power of the user, is also which determines speed) | At least Massively FTL+, likely Infinite (Far superior to Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann and Super Granzeboma)
Lifting Strength: Class M (Comparable to Enkidu, who flipped over Dai-Gurren) | Class T (Pushed up Teppelin off the ground and reversed its spin[2]) | At least Class T | Immeasurable (As a Gunmen powered by Post-Multiverse Labyrinth Simon, who he himself hasn't mastered Spiral Power yet, it should be infinitely superior) | Immeasurable (Far superior in strength to even Super Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann, as it is fueled with far more Spiral Power)
Striking Strength: Large Town level (After trapping Thymilph's Byakou with Gurren's sunglasses, Gurren Lagann created a giant drill and rammed through the target creating a massive explosion[5]) | Multi-Continent level | At least Multi-Continent level | High Complex Multiverse level | High Complex Multiverse level
Durability: At least Large Town level (Tanked direct fire from the Dai-Gunzan that caused a massive explosion[1]) | Multi-Continent level (Gurren Lagann and Dai-Gurren smashed into Teppelin's hammer[2]) | At least Multi-Continent level (Absorbed a huge cannon barrage[3]) | High Complex Multiverse level | High Complex Multiverse level
Range: Hundreds of Meters | Kilometers | Hundreds of Kilometers, High Complex Multiversal via portals | High Complex Multiversal | High Complex Multiversal
- Drills: Several drills manifested by Gurren Lagann. It converts the Spiral Power and can be used for combat. In some cases, they can become missiles.
- Glasses Cutter: A real sword worn on the chest. Originally equipped with Gurren, imitating the sunglasses Kamina wore, it is mostly used as an anti-aircraft weapon.
- Gurren Wing: It is the flight function acquired in the middle, converted by Lagann's hijacking function. It also functions as a boomerang by removing it, but in that case basically Gurren's pilot controls.
- Spiral Boundary Recognition Transfer System: Dimensional transition mechanism activated in the last stage. If coordinates can be specified, it can even transit to another dimension. If you know that the starting point of the coordinates is "there", you can jump without knowing where the destination is.
- Spiral Power Activation Mechanism
Optional Equipment:
- Hand Gun: Semi-auto & full automatic auto shooting hand gun can be divided. Originally it was armed of Grapearl, but it was used in the form to borrow from Gimmy's machine when shooting down the shattered Mugan fragments. After use, it returned to Gimmy's machine.
Weaknesses: Powered by the pilot's willpower, so if both pilots die or lose the will to live, it won't function.
Strength
- Destroyed part of Viral's Gunman.[6]
- Took off it's sunglasses and cut a large Gunman in half.[7]
- Multi-feat. Dodged and tanked fire from the Dai-Gunzan and Viral then did a flaming kick on Viral which embedded his mech in the Dai-Gunzan.[1]
- Overpowered an energy beam which previously created large explosions.[5]
- This version of Viral's mech was strong enough to have tossed the Dai-Gurren.[8]
- Stopped Adiane's Gunman.[9]
- Lifted the Dai-Gurren and broke the Dai-Gunkai's arms.[9]
- Matched and overpowered Viral.[10]
- Caught and threw a large missile.[11]
- Temporarily lifted the Dai-Gundo.[11]

- Was sent flying by Viral's mech.[1]
- Tanked Viral's slam which created a large explosion.[1]
- Was blasted by the Dai-Gunzan.[1]
- Dai-Gunzan hit Gurren Lagann multiple times.[1]
- Tanked bullets fired by Gunmen.[13]
- Tanked more Gunmen fire and smashed the ground.[13]
- Was hit multiple times by Adiane.[9]
- Was flicked by Teppelin.[2]
- Was hit by the Lazengann.[2] (The Lazengann can one shot other Lagann-types mechs.[14])
- Survived the Lazengann's drills.[2]
- Tanked a Soldier Class Mugann energy beam.[15]
- Was Shocked by the Ku-Mugann.[3]
Drills
- Destroyed Viral's swords.[6]
- Skewered 16 Gunmen.[16]
- Summoned drills to destroy over ten Gunmen.[5]
- Destroyed a Gunman and knocked it out of its armor/skin.[13]
- The drills pierced Gember's armor. However, the area the drills attacked (the eyes) could be weaker than the surrounding plates.[17] (The Gember was tough enough to have deflected Yoko's rifle shots which usually pierces or damages normal Gunmen.[17][5])
- Used drills to break the Gember press.[17]
- The Giga Drill Break destroyed the Gember.[17]
- Destroyed the claws of Adiane's Gunman.[9]
- Created a drill to move fast underwater. This drill was also strong enough to have easily shattered one of Adiane's attacks.[9]
- Drilled through multiple missiles.[9]
- Drilled through and destroyed the Dai-Gunkai. The resulting explosion from that and Adiane's mech made a massive shockwave however Viral also lived so it's unlikely the explosion was extremely powerful.[9]
- Fired drill missiles that destroyed hundreds of Gunmen. This attack did cost a lot of power to use, however.[11]
- Overpowered the rotation of the Dai-Gundo and destroyed it. However, Gurren Lagann did need the weight of the Dai-Gundo to pierce its shell at first.[11]
- The Dai-Gundo was completely unaffected by this massive explosion.[11]
- Clashed with the Teppelin and made a large shockwave.[2]
- One shot Viral.[2]
- Destroyed the Lazengann's hand.[2]
- Destroyed the Shuzack which previously no sold Yoko's rifle.[18]

- With the help of team Dai-Gurren, Gurren Lagann destroyed the Beastmen super mecha.[18]
- Blocked a Soldier Class Mugann energy beam which previously created large explosions.[19]
- After absorbing the energy of a Soldier Class Mugann energy beam, Gurren Lagann destroyed it.[19]
- Absorbed two Soldier Class Mugann beams then tossed an energy sphere at them, destroying both.[15]
- Summoned multiple Giga Drills to block/destroy a fleet of Soldier Class Muganns. It should be noted that this caused extreme damage to Gurren Lagann.[20]
- Fired a drill laser that pushed back the Kyo-Mugann.[21]
- Formed a shield to block an energy beam.[3]
Other features
- Gurren Lagann can take pieces of other robots and assimilate them. The first example of this was assimilating the helmet from Viral's mech.[6]
- Can heal damage with enough Spiral Energy.[1]
- Can become water tight.[9]
- Assimilated a flying Gunman so Gurren Lagann can also fly.[10]
- The Spiral energy shockwave generated from Gurren Lagann destroyed dozens of Soldier Class Muganns.[3]
- Drilled its way through reality and teleported.[4]
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Gunmen Integration: Due to Lagann's influence, Gurren Lagann can spontaneously integrate parts of other Gunmen into itself. This ability gives Gurren Lagann its signature helmet (originally taken from Viral's Enki), and is later used to acquire a set of wings for the Gunmen (by impaling a flying Gunmen with four drills and attaching it to Gurren Lagann's back). In both cases, the stolen parts immediately reconfigured into forms complimenting the main body of the mecha, mostly by changing colors.
- Gurren lagann can physically fight by doing deadly flared flying kicks. There are many variations of this, from simply calling it "Gurren Lagann Kick", "Burning Man's Fire Kick", "Hinokuma Kick" to "Super Inazuma Kick" (paying homage to Gunbuster).
- Man's Anger Bursting Slash: A technique to slit the opponent vertically with the Gurren Boomerang.
- Troy Del Burst: A technique to drive a number of drills onto the ground and cause a crack. It was chased by Dai-Ganzun in the seventh episode, and it was used by Simon when he fell into a dilemma. In the manga version, the technique name was displayed when being used.
- Superconducting Rifle: The mouth of the Gurren part opens, and Yoko who is getting on as a sub-pilot from there fires a sniper, with "lock on" characteristic. Although it can not secure the stability necessary for sniper, it is unusable after the movement, but since the hit correction is high and the range is long, the thing that can not do anything when counterattacking decreases.
In episode 13 when Yoko boarded Gurren, the sniper scene is 2D animation. - Gurren Boomerang: GL throws sunglasses at opponents like a boomerang. In SRW Second Z Breakout Story, it has the longest range and relatively low fuel consumption, so it will become the mainstay of counterattack.
In the SRW Second Z Revolution, it became useless to use because it became four bullets system, but in SRW Operation Extend it has no concept of bullet number, so it became easy to use for counterattack again. There is also a "shooting" characteristic as a promise of this weapon. - Glasses Cutter: A real sword worn on the chest. Originally equipped with Gurren, imitating the sunglasses Kamina wore, it is mostly used as an anti-aircraft weapon.
- Giga Drill Break: Gurren Lagann pins the opponent, usually a powerful enemy mecha, by throwing its sunglasses as a boomerang. As the sunglasses fly, they split into two. Once they have pinned the mecha in the air, Gurren Lagann creates a giant drill that expands to feature length while screaming the attack's name and plows through the target at extreme speeds. This is then quickly followed by an explosion of the pinned mecha. The sunglasses boomerangs emerge from the explosion, reunite into a single pair, then fly back onto Gurren Lagann's lower face.
- Skull Break: A technique to release a punch, activate the drill at the moment the fist hits, destroy only the inside of the enemy gunmen. It was used by Simon at the beginning of the 9th episode when he was desperate destroying the enemy Gunmen.
- Full Drillize: A technique to stretch the surrounding enemies by massive elongation of thin long drills from the whole body. To be precise, the condition where the drill protrudes as far as possible from the whole body is called "full drilling form".
- Giga Drill Maximum: Gurren Lagann produces the maximum amount of Giga Drills available to the Gurren Lagann at once, covering it much like a porcupine. When energy is absorbed in this fashion, it is released in a massive explosion to do damage to all enemies around it.
- Double Boomerang: Gurren Lagann removes its wings and sunglasses, then throws them both as boomerangs at the target. The Gurren Lagann may also use these as swords in close combat when its drills are unwieldy and can configure the boomerangs to restrain the target in preparation for the Giga Drill Break.
- Mirage Lagann
- Giga Drill Break Team Dai-Gurren Special: Giga drill break of a hot-blooded friendship with the rest of Team Dai-Gurren.
- Space-time Burst Spinning Punch: A pseudo-coalescing type of summon attack with Arc-Gurren, with the lower body turned into a huge drill, plowing through the enemy, then rush into Arc-Gurren transforming into Arc-Gurren Lagann, knock down the enemy through space-time.
