GonFreecss v1 (HxH)
I want to see my dad. He's a Hunter... one of the best, I hear. We'll meet someday, I hope. But... if I call it quits at this point... I feel the hope will vanish. You really give me no choice at all.
Qualification isn’t something we have to talk about. The ones who are not okay with their success can go through training until they are.
~ Gon Freecss

Adult Gon (Render)
Enough. Let it end. I don't care what happens to me now. I need all the power I'll ever have.
I'm fine. It doesn't hurt. I'm not bluffing. It makes me a little happy. Finally, I can be just like Kite. In the end... I feel a little better now.

Summary

Gon Freecss (ゴン=フリークス, Gon Furīkusu) is a Hunter and the son of Ging Freecss. Finding his father is Gon's motivation to become a Hunter.

Powers and Stats

Tier: 9-B | 9-A | 8-B, 8-A with Jajanken | 8-B, up to 8-A with Ryu and Ko, far higher with Fully Charged Jajanken | 8-A, higher while Enraged, up to Low 7-C with Ryu and Ko, far higher with Fully Charged Jajanken | High 7-C, up to Low 7-B with Ryu and Ko, 7-B with Fully Charged Jajanken

Key: Pre-Nen | Post-Nen (Heavens Arena Arc) | Yorknew City Arc/Pre-Training Greed Island Arc | Post-Training Greed Island Arc/Start of Chimera Ant Arc | Chimera Ants Arc | Adult Gon

Name: Gon Freecss

Origin: Hunter X Hunter

Gender: Male

Age: 11 (Manga Debut). 12 (Anime Debut). 14 (Currently)

Classification: Human, Hunter, Martial Artist, Nen User, Enhancer

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Enhanced Senses (Sight, Hearing, Taste, and Smell. Kurapika noted that his vision is far beyond normal human capabilities. His hearing is so keen that he can fight even in complete darkness. Immediately noticed that Tonpa's drink was laced. His sense of smell is considered as good as dogs; he can smell Leorio's cologne from several kilometers away), Accelerated Development (Gon's talent was described to possess an uncanny, bottomless potential. Gon can learn extremely quickly, and that is true especially in the field of Nen, with an aptitude like his being very rare), Reactive Power Level (Gon's physical capabilities increase amid combat. He can adapt to stronger and faster opponents and much more skilled opponents[1]), Weapon Mastery (Gon is highly adept with using his fishing rod as a weapon), Adaptation (Was unaffected by the low temperature and oxygen levels on top of the world tree), Regeneration (Low. Healed a broken arm in ten days. Healed a broken radius and ulna, a cracked humerus, three rib fractures and twelve cracks in one month instead of the predicted four. Enhancers, in general, have much faster regeneration rates than others), Limited Animal Manipulation (Gon is shown to be good with animals. Tamed a Foxbear, which is noted for immense aggression. An entire forest of animals came to see Gon off before he traveled to become a Hunter. It's a common belief that good Hunters are well-liked by animals), Limited Stealth Mastery (Tailed Hisoka without being noticed for a day by unconsciously using Zetsu), Analytical Prediction (Capable of reading Knuckle's movements despite being slower. Was also capable of reading Gido's tops with his enhanced senses whose patterns are too complex even for the attacker), Resistance to Poison Manipulation (Geretta's poison was stated to paralyze a person for ten days. Gon got up just a few minutes after), Immense Pain Tolerance, Social Influencing (Gon is characterized by his innate charisma, empathy, and unwavering optimism. His honest and straightforward nature fosters trust and loyalty, while his ability to empathize and connect with a diverse range of characters enables him to form unlikely alliances and resolve conflicts effectively. Gon's unconventional thinking and strong moral compass not only inspire those around him but also lead to significant character growth and change in others)

All previous abilities plus Limited Nen Manipulation (Enhancer; Has mastered the four basic principles and Gyo to limited extents), Afterimage Creation, Self-Perception Manipulation (By releasing his Ten and going into Zetsu, Gon can enhance his senses and dodge attacks that are too fast for him to react), Proficient Hand-to-Hand Combatant (Trained in Shingen-ryu Kung Fu by Wing)

All previous abilities on a higher level. Improved Martial Arts (Trained in Shingen-ryu Kung Fu by Bisky, Improved Nen Manipulation (Has mastered various advanced techniques and can use a limited version of En, which allows him to react to opponents he cannot respond to with his sight. Gon's aura has been noted to be huge by various characters), Transmutation and Weapon Creation with Scissor (By transmuting his aura, Gon can create a sword made of Nen), Energy Projection with Paper (Gon can expel aura from his hands in the form of a spherical projectile), Statistics Amplification with Rock (By charging his fist with Ko, coupled with two limitations to create Jajaken, Gon can make his punches much more powerful), Awakened Power and Empowerment (Depending on Gon's emotional state, whether it is extreme determination (against Razor) or almost uncontrollable anger (against Pitou) his aura becomes more powerful and changes in nature. For instance, if he is furious, his aura becomes more powerful, dark, and sinister. It is even able to put Morel, his disciples and Knov on edge. Killua stated that Gon, in his enraged state, was superior to a Pitou who was merely in Ten, and this rage was enough for Pitou's intuition to discern he had the potential to be a threat to the King), Shockwave Generation (He can create shock-waves with the mere charge-up of Jajanken and with trees)

All previous abilities on a far higher level. Air Manipulation (His mere power-up caused heavy winds to occur), Vow and Transformation (By forming a Vow, Gon sacrificed everything he had, including his latent potential to force his body to adulthood; the Vow was so powerful that the only Exorcist in the Hunter Association could not remove it and would have died trying)

Attack Potency: Wall level (Punched and destroyed a thick stone pillar with a single punch) | Small Building level (By learning to use Nen, Gon was considered to be exceptional by Wing, he should be able to cause the basic effects of Nen which include the ability to crack a thick wall) | City Block level (Much stronger than before. He trained for months before going to Yorkshin, comparable to Killua, who was able to break Pakunoda's arm with ease), Multi-City Block level with Jajanken (Although Gon isn't capable of using Ko, Jajanken has a similar principle as the technique, thus, being at least 10 times stronger than Gon's regular punches) | City Block level (Even before his more intense training with Biscuit after Greed Island, Gon was considered by Kite as someone capable of dealing with the Chimera Ants), up to Multi-City Block level with Ryu and Ko, far higher with Fully Charged Jajanken (One shot Knuckle while he was using Ko to defend himself) | Multi-City Block level (Should be somewhat comparable to Killua, has higher stats than the likes of Zazan), higher while Enraged (Was considered a threat to Pitou who was restricted to using Ten), up to Small Town level with Ryu and Ko, far higher with Fully Charged Jajanken | Large Town level+ (In this state, he was stated by Neferpitou to be a threat to Pre-Rose Meruem, and also incapacitated Neferpitou in one blow. Though Gon's full capabilities in this form are unknown, this form is the strongest that Gon will ever be in his life, as this is his full potential), up to Small City level with Ryu and Ko, City level with Jajanken

Speed: Subsonic (Fast enough to disappear. Blitzed a prisoner.[2] Should be superior to other Hunter examinees, including one who dodged an arrow after it had been fired at very close range[3]) | Subsonic+ (Shouldn't be much slower than his Greed Island self, who should be comparable to weaker Hunters such as Tocino) | Subsonic+ (Should be comparable or superior to Tocino. Blitzed a Pro Hunter[4]) | Supersonic+ (Superior to Goreinu who could react to one of Razor's throws[5]) | Hypersonic with Hypersonic+ reaction speed (Although slower, he was comparable to Knuckle who was physically comparable to Kite.[6] Comparable to Killua who could blitz Rammot[7]) | Massively Hypersonic (Blitzed Neferpitou[8] who was able to perceive Netero's hand movements.[9] Stated by Neferpitou that he was a threat to the King.[10] Easily outsped a Corpse Puppet Neferpitou who was comparable to Godspeed Killua in speed[11])

Lifting Strength: Class 5 (Pushed a 4-ton gate after training for two weeks) | Class 10 (Should be exponentially stronger than before) | Class 25 (Should be physically stronger than Pre-Nen Killua by this point, even before any sort of physical training, Gon was capable of lifting a giant boulder) | At least Class 25, likely higher (Stronger than before) | Class 50 (Comparable to Killua) | Class M (Comparable to Meruem)

Striking Strength: Wall level | Small Building level | City Block level, Multi-City Block level with Jajanken | City Block level, up to Multi-City Block level with Ryu and Ko, far higher with Jajanken | Multi-City Block level, higher while Enraged, up to Small Town level with Ryu and Ko, far higher with Jajanken | Large Town level+, up to Small City level with Ryu and Ko, City level with Jajanken

Durability: Wall level (Took a beating from Hanzo) | Small Building level | City Block level | City Block level (Can fight evenly with Killua), up to Multi-City Block level with Ryu and Ko | Multi-City Block level, higher while Enraged, up to Small Town level with Ryu and Ko | Large Town level+, up to Small City level with Ryu and Ko

Stamina: Superhuman (Gon ran over 80 kilometers during the first stage of the Hunter Exam, including a section going up a stretch of stairs. He trained his accuracy with a fishing rod for hours until his hands were blistered; according to Geretta, he did 7000 casts. He can also dodge Gido's spinning tops for over an hour while in the state of Zetsu. Fought Binolt for ten straight days. Later, Gon can run tens of kilometers without getting tired, thanks to Biscuit's training, and he can use Ten 24/7. He can also keep Ken running for three hours without much trouble, but it gets harder when they are fighting. He can move and fight even at peak exhaustion on willpower)

Range: Standard Melee Range, Tens of Meters with his fishing rod; Varies from Tens of Meters to Hundreds of Meters with Nen techniques in Greed Island Arc; Kilometers with Nen techniques as Adult Gon

Standard Equipment: A Fishing Rod | None Notable

Intelligence: Gifted in general; Genius in combat (Despite his struggles with academic proficiency, such as math, Gon is emotionally intelligent, figuring out Palm's entire personality traits from his few interactions with her due to his vast experience with many other women and people. Wing described his talent as one in ten million, learning and eventually mastering techniques like Ten in a matter of minutes, whereas Zushi, despite being a prodigy, takes weeks. Gon has proven to be remarkably cunning and skilled in combat. Gon defeated Riehlvet with relative ease by throwing a massive stone tile and using a person's natural psychology as an advantage to ambush them. During his battle with Gido, Gon was capable of determining the exact ruleset Gido gave his tops simply by watching one of them move on its own, quickly learning how to avoid them by using Zetsu, and dodging the patterns of the tops, which had previously been described as being incredibly complex and unpredictable even for Gido himself. Despite his hatsu's apparent weakness, Gon was capable of overcoming it by utilizing its overwhelming power and his opponent's knowledge to his advantage, luring them in as he charged a fake version of his hatsu to counterattack the moment they attempted to break his stance. Gon has also repeatedly outwitted people with far more experience than him, such as Hisoka, a battle genius, and Knuckle, who has participated in over 5000 battles. Gon has often astounded allies and opponents alike with his astounding ability to think outside the box and find a new perspective to look at a problem and solve it. He demonstrated this ability twice during the Third Phase of the Hunter Exam, blowing out Sedokan's candle instead of looking after his own and choosing the long path to the goal only to break down the wall separating it from the short one sidestepping Lippo's forced choice. Instead of fighting Nobunaga, he applied his ostomy knowledge to find an alternative way of escape. He auctions off items to raise a profit before attending the auction as the buyer. Later, they seek to be hired by Battera instead of purchasing Greed Island. He also has a good memory, which allowed him to win the quiz to obtain the Ruler's Blessing. He is also fairly intuitive and, when intensely focused, has occasionally shown the ability to think faster than the likes of Killua and Morel by cutting out everything that is not relevant. Gon's exceptional capacity for lateral thinking extends to battle tactics, making him wholly unpredictable. He managed to surprise Netero three times during their ball game. He designed the plan that allowed Kurapika to abduct Chrollo. His willingness to take significant damage to land a critical hit would have allowed him to defeat Genthru without relying on Killua's plan had the latter not been saved by a lucky coincidence. When fighting Hollow and Bat, he used his good analytical skills to figure out how their coordinated attacks worked and overcome them)

Weaknesses: His Jajanken takes some time to charge and can be interrupted. Gon isn't as flexible as other Nen users, and his lack of battle experience has been shown to cause problems. Some Nen techniques can be quite tiring to use. Zetsu involves keeping one's aura entirely within the body, leaving a Nen user more vulnerable to physical and Nen attacks, as no external aura is covering the user. His transformation can only be completed if he is in intense emotional distress, and using it causes his body to decay.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Nen: Gon is an Enhancer with enormous potential ranging from intellect and intuition to Nen powers. Wing asserts that his ability is exceedingly rare. Gon swiftly grasped the basics as well as a variety of advanced skills.

Jajanken: Gon's Hatsu, an ability in which he can manifest Nen attacks based on the game rock, paper, and scissors. He unconsciously added the condition of a chant to activate the ability, and the charge-up time increases the risk in combat, which increases its power.

  • Jajanken: Rock (グー, Gū): Gon focuses the aura around his fists using Ko and releases it in a punch. Rock is a close-range attack and has the most reliable power of his attacks.
  • Jajanken: Scissors (チー, Chī): Scissors is formed by extending his pointer and ring fingers. Gon uses Transmutation to transform his aura into a long blade extending from the two fingers.
  • Jajanken: Paper (パー, Pā): For this, Gon uses his Emission abilities to project his aura towards his enemies as a projectile. Paper uses an open palm to emit the aura.
  • Jajanken round 2 (あいこで Aiko de): Allows Gon to muster twice the usual amount of aura to use two Jajanken attacks in quick succession, eliminating the need to perform the chant twice. However, he cannot use two rocks in succession.

Limitation Transformation: Gon forcibly matures himself through the use of Nen, dramatically increasing all of his statistics to the point where he could defeat one of the Chimera Ant King's Royal Guards, Neferpitou. However, the cost of this transformation is severe, as it caused him to fall into a coma after defeating Pitou, and he would have died if Nanika hadn't intervened. His full potential and capabilities in this state weren't shown.
