Vice-Captain, let’s show the villagers what heroes who willingly plunge into danger to save others look like! Let’s show them how the strong will save the weak![1]

~ Gazef Stronoff, Warrior-Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom
Sorcerer King Ainz Ooal Gown! My name is Gazef Stronoff, the Warrior-Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom! I formally request a duel with you![2]
~ Gazef

Summary

Gazef Stronoff is the Warrrior Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom, and the personal bodyguard of King Ramposa III. Considered to be the strongest man in the kingdom, he represents a level of power only found within the ranks of adamantine adventurers, only rivaled by a few elite fighters such as Brain Unglaus, and those who have entered the realm of heroes.

Initially, he was assisted by Ainz Ooal Gown during the Slane Theocracy's false flag attack on Carne Village, and was able to defeat them thanks to the help of the mysterious magic caster. However, their relationship would turn sour when Ainz declared war on the Kingdom, culminating in a duel between the two that Gazef knew he couldn't win.

Gender: Male[3][6][7][10]

Age: Appears to be in his late 20s to early 30s

Classification: Human,[3][6][7][10] Warrior-Captain of the Re-Estize Kingdom,[3][4][5][6][7][10] Strongest Warrior of the Kingdom[3][4][5][6][7][10]

Powers and Abilities:

Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Martial Arts (Mixes physical combat with swordsmanship, catching those who focus on what's in his hands off-guard[15]), Weapon Mastery (Gazef primarily is a master of the sword, and the most Skilled Warrior in the Re-Estize Kingdom, having consistently defeated Brain Unglaus both a year ago during a tournament,[5][6][7] and during the yester years of Gazef's life.[10] Gazef is also shown wielding a bow and arrow,[16] and possibly an unknown third weapon class, as he detailed to Climb the importance of having 2 OR 3 weapon types you're skilled in[17]) Body Control (Instant Counter is a martial art ability that forcibly corrected the body’s balance after making an attack, resetting it to before the blow was struck.[18] Flow Acceleration is a martial art that increased the speed at which one’s nerves functioned, increasing one’s attack rate and speed.[18]), Light Manipulation or Energy Projection (Via Sixfold Slash of Light) Regeneration Negation (High-low; Via Focus Battle Aura, Gazef can kill Archangel Flames, which the soldiers under his command simply couldn't, even if they could injure them[19]), Information Analysis (Can detect his chances of winning a battle and the strengths his target has via Possibility Sense,[20] and can detect Weaknesses with Detect Weakness[21]), Statistics Amplification (Via Flow Acceleration, Gazef can Massively increase his speed to a devastating degree.[22] Via the use of Rigrit's Ring, Gazef can bypass his normal peak limitations[23]), Non-Physical Interaction (Via Focus Battle Aura, Gazef can make any weapon he holds magical and capable of harming Intangible beings such as Elementals[24])

All previous abilities, plus; Regeneration (At least Mid-Low; Via the Amulet of Immortality Gazef can "Regenerate his wounds",[25] which would mean battle wounds such as deep cuts via a blade or broken bones/torn tendons via Blunt Force), Damage Reduction (Via The Guardian Armor, which "deflects" Lethal blows through unknown means[25]), Non-Physical Interaction/Power Nullification/Durability Negation (Via Razor Edge[26] which Bypasses Ainz's immunity to damage taken from lower-tier weapons and is capable of harming and killing him.[27])

Resistance to Poison (Brain Unglaus, someone Gazef is superior too, was stated to be "pretty much immune to poison" due to his physical prowess[28]), Mind Manipulation (Stated to be capable of fighting off Mind-Controlling magic[29]), Telepathy (Those who resist psychic attacks, such as Mind control, are unable to have their surface thoughts probed by Doppelgangers such as Pandora’s Actor[30]) and Magic (can grant himself resistance to Magic with a Martial Art[18])

Attack Potency: Small Building level (Due to being consistently stated to be strongest Warrior in the Kingdom, Gazef is stronger than Gagaran who can do this.[7] Fights consistently with Brain Unglaus, and wins every engagement they have.[6][10] could have one-shot Climb casually[15]), Higher with Sixfold Slash of Light (Noted as Gazef's trump card, and using it briefly puts him into the Realm of Heroes(beyond his race's potential)[31]) | Small Building level (Comparable to his normal state in physical AP), Higher with Sixfold Slash of Light, Negates Durability via Razor Edge (Stated directly to be capable of killing Ainz Ooal Gown by the Eclipse himself[26])

Speed: Supersonic (Clementine stated he was one of the few people who could give her trouble in a fight[32]), higher, possibly Supersonic+ via Flow Acceleration (allowed Clementine to move fast enough that Momon's attacks were in slow motion, to the point where he believed for a moment he was under a time slow,[22] although it should be noted that Momon was holding back), possibly Speed of Light via Sixfold Slash of Light (Stated to be a Martial art that "struck as fast as light"[31][Note 1]

Lifting Strength: Class 1 (Gazef is at the pinnacle of human limitations, and through gaining even a single level would completely surpass them[23])

Striking Strength: Small Building level | Small Building level

Durability: Small Building level (Can take attacks from comparable characters such as Brain,[6][10] no-sold an amped strike from Climb[15]) | Small Building level (The Guardian Armor is far above Gazef's general armor, in both durability and enchantments[25])

Stamina: Superhuman (Gazef faced down dozens of Archangel Flames courtesy of the Sunlit Scripture, and fought with constant use of Stamina draining martial arts for a dozen or two minutes, and only fell down because he was transported to safety by Ainz.[33] can easily spar with Climb for hours and "Drink him under the table" so to speak[15]) | Infinite due to the Gauntlets of Endurance[25]

Range: Standard Melee Range physically, Extended Melee Range via sword[3][6][7] to Several Meters with most abilities[3][6][7][10]

Standard Equipment: Plate armor and a two-handed sword[3][6][7] | The five treasures of the Kingdom (Four of which are currently known):[25]

  • Amulet of Immortality: Provides regeneration.[25]
  • Gauntlets of Endurance: Grants endless stamina.[25]
  • Guardian Armor: Made of extremely hard steel or Adamantite, and deflects any Lethal attacks.[25]
  • Razor Edge: A magically enchanted sword capable of cutting through armor like paper, and even killing Ainz Ooal Gown[25][26]

Optional Equipment: Bow and Arrows,[3] Rigrit's Ring[7]

Intelligence:

Above Average (Gazef is an excellent tactician and battlefield strategist,[3] and is surprisingly perceptive to both Ainz's schemes[10] and the schemes of nobles[3][6])

Genius (Can easily defeat over 100 knights at once,[1] won a Warrior Tournament in which the only individual who even contested his skill was Brain Unglaus,[6] was implied to be capable of beating all four of the Baharuth Empire's renowned knights at once,[1]also mixes physical combat with swordsmanship, catching those who focus on what's in his hands off-guard[15] and should be comparable to Death Knights which are capable of deflecting showers of bullets for a time[14])

Standard Tactics: Gazef first and foremost is a melee fighter, meaning rushing into Melee Range whether on foot or on horseback to start out with is a given,[3][10] once he is in Melee, or at least close enough, Gazef makes liberal use of Martial Arts to enhance his combative capabilities and to sniff out his opponents' capabilities,[3][10] and mixes swordsmanship with physicals to catch his opponent off-guard.[15] If pushed, Gazef will not hesitate to use Sixfold Slash of Light to end his opponent quickly.[3]

Weaknesses: Instant Counter puts immense strain on the body,[18] Flow Acceleration put strain on his brain,[18] and Sixfold Slash of Light put the most strain of all by a factor of three.[18] The use of Martial Arts slowly builds up fatigue in the user's body and mind via the focus they require, and stronger techniques require more focus.[18] A considerably honorable fighter, who doesn't back down even when knowing full well he would die.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

Martial Arts

  • Enhanced Magic Resistance: It increases the user's resistance to magic effects directed towards themselves.[18]
  • Flow Acceleration: Temporarily accelerates the workings of the user's nerves, increasing attack speed and movement speed. The downside to it however, is the extreme exhaustion that builds up in the user's mind.[18]
  • Focus Battle Aura: By pouring the user's fighting spirit into their weapon, this Martial Art endows normal weapons with effects equivalent to those of magical weapons. With these weapons, it is possible to break through the special defenses of races such as angels.[19]
  • Fourfold Slash of Light: The precursor to Sixfold slash of light, it allows Gazef to slash nearby enemies four times with one swing of his sword. He learned this move from Vesture who put his theory into practice.[18]
  • Instant Counter: Corrects the balance of the user, allowing them to instantly attack again without leaving an opening.[18]
  • Possibility Sense: Allows the user to detect their chance of victory against a target and their target's strengths.[20]
  • Sense Weakness: Allows the user to detect any possible weaknesses in a target.[21]
  • Sixfold Slash of Light: Allows the user to slash nearby enemies six times with one swing of their sword. This Martial Art releases six slashes of light that, even though they may be powerful, can't be directed manually, and always end at a single point. It is a favored killing move against tremendously powerful enemies, which Gazef uses as his trump card. However, it carries a great burden, so much so that each use takes as much focus as three regular Martial Arts, and the user's body is greatly exhausted compared to using other Martial Arts.[18]
  • Multiple Unknown Martial Arts: their effects are Unknown, but it was noted Gazef had 7 active at a time,[3] more than was ever named.

Notes:

  1. Please do not attempt to make Content Revision Threads to scale the denizens of Nazarick to Speed of Light or FTL scaling to Sixfold Slash of Light, there is literally 0 proof of, say, Ainz Ooal Gown reacting to, or percieving it.
