Summary
Galeem (キーラ, "Kiira"), the lord of light, is one of the two main antagonists of Super Smash Bros. Ultimate's Adventure Mode: World of Light. He attacks the Smash fighters with rays of light that eventually expand to crush the entire universe. The Smash fighters try in vain to overpower, dodge and reflect his assault, getting vaporized in the process. The rest of the inhabitants in the universe get their "spirits" stolen by Galeem after being reached by the rays of light. Galeem then recreates the last world in the universe, which is now called World of Light, after that makes an army of soulless puppets from the defeated Smash fighters, traps the spirits inside the bodies and forces them to do his bidding. Ultimately, only Kirby survives the massacre, proceeding then progressively defeating Galeem's army, releasing the spirits and the Smash fighters in the process. Above the clouds of the Worlds of Light, Galeem waits for a second confrontation.

- Deconstruction, Biological Manipulation & Absorption (Deconstructed and absorbed the internal energy of dozens of Master Hands)
- Spatial Manipulation (Warped space, creating what appears to be a black hole)
- Energy Projection/Manipulation, Homing Attack & Danmaku (Shot dozens of rays of light that followed their targets.)
- Attack Reflection Negation & Forcefield Negation (The rays of light themselves are capable of resisting Attack Reflection due to Zelda, Mewtwo and Palutena's reflective moves all failing to work on them.)
- Pseudo-Soul Manipulation (Caused multiple beings to lose their bodies and become spirits, although these aren't real souls as multiple individuals can share the same spirit, ghosts and soulless robots can have spirits too, etc. They are hundreds of spirits separated from their bodies and Galeem can manipulate them)

- Explosion Manipulation (Can make X Bomb like explosives)
- BFR (He and Dharkon sent the Smash fighters to battle all the bosses in the game. Can send them to battle to boss if they hit a projectile meant to do that)
While possessing Galeem's Puppet Fighters Spirits can grant theses abilities:
- Statistics Amplification & Transformation (All Spirits boost the overall power of the user. Various Conditions in Spirit Battles boost the enemy in different ways such as amping their stats when injured or turning them metal, gold or giant)
- Statistics Reduction (Various Spirits reduce the stats of the The Player such as their lowering jumping power or making them easier to launch)
- Invisibility (Certain Spirits can make the Puppet Fighter invisible permanently or during random intervals)
- Gravity Manipulation (Certain Spirits can reduce or increase the gravity of the battlefield)
- Healing (Certain Spirits can allow the Puppet Fighter heal upon shielding attacks, passively over time, or after taking heavy damage)
- Attack Reflection (Certain Spirits equip the Puppet Fighter with a Franklin Badge, which they will never drop)
- Limited Invulnerability (Certain Spirits allow the Puppet Fighter to become invincible for a short span of time)
- Limited Fire Manipulation, Electricity Manipulation, Limited Poison Manipulation, Ice Manipulation, Adhesive Manipulation & Sleep Manipulation (Certain Spirits can affect the stage by adding various effects to the floor and platforms such as adding lava, electricity, ice which induces the Frozen status condition, sticky gray goop which slows down the player and lowers their jump height, purple bubbling goop which deals poison damage, and a Slumber Floor which induces the Asleep status condition)
- Air Manipulation (Certain Spirits can cause heavy winds which can blow fighters off stage)
- Minor Earth Manipulation (Certain Spirits can cause earthquakes which causes grounded fighters to trip)
- Minor Weather Manipulation (Certain Spirits can cover the battlefield in a heavy fog making it hard to see. Certain Spirits can also make this fog poisonous)
- Likely Perception Manipulation (Certain Spirits can flip the players screen)
Attack Potency: Universe level+ (Absorbed energies from many of his Master Hands to shoot rays of light that expanded to crush the universe in short periods of time. Appears to do the same with a charged attack in an alternative ending. Fought evenly against Dharkon. Can fight the fighters amplified by Spirits of Palkia, Dialga and Arceus, the former two of whom control all of space and have set time in motion at birth, and the latter of whom appeared from nothing and created the world and sky). Can ignore conventional durability in many ways
Speed: Immeasurable (As his light expanded to crush the universe, it's implied to also have reached characters in different periods of time, as it could capture the spirits of all the characters across different worlds that were devoured by said light, including the past versions of some characters, as shown with Pauline and Cranky Kong from both the present and the past, Revolver Ocelot from both MGS 3 and V, and the baby versions of Mario, Bowser and Peach, with Galeem himself also being able to keep up with the playable fighters who could physically react and move alongside said light)
Lifting Strength: Class M (Should be far superior to a spiritless King Dedede who is able to swing his hammer with this much force)
Striking Strength: Universe level+ (Scaling from Dharkon, who could restrain and impale him. Can harm Smashers and Dharkon with his wings)
Durability: Universe level+ (Can take numerous hits from both spirit empowered fighters and Dharkon)
Stamina: Superhuman (Can endure long battles between against the Smashers and Dharkon. Is never shown to get tired)
Range: Hundreds of Meters (His attacks can cover a majority of the stage and beyond. Could fight Dharkon from a considerable distance away) up to Multiversal (His light can cover the entire universe and is implied to also have reached almost all the other universes, as it could capture the spirits of all the characters across different worlds that were devoured by said light, including ones from parallel timelines and alternate realms, with the narration stating that there's a "last remaining world" after the spreading of said light)
Standard Equipment: Spirits, Master Hand's (Is always accompanied by an army of Master Hands)
- Can Create/Summon: Puppet Fighters, Giga Bowser, Galleom, Rathalos
Intelligence: Unknown
Weaknesses: His core will be left vulnerable after taking a significant amount of damage.
- Should be superior to the dozens of Master Hands he controls, and has one-shotted various Crazy Hands.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
For a list of all the abilities Spirits can grant Galeem's puppet fighters see here.
- Time Bomb: Cross-Type: Galeem creates three to six small objects that explode in plus-shaped beams of light like X Bombs. These can be destroyed before their detonation to stop the attack. After he loses half his HP, he often creates more. Despite their appearance, they inflict aura damage.
- Penetrate: Galeem's wings unravel into two to five drill-like objects which slam through the ground. At low health, it will up to six drills instead (enough to fully cover the stage when combined) and perform the attack twice in a row. This attack is a meteor smash to aerial characters.
- Massive Laser: A crisscrossing mass of small purple lines appear on the screen, marking the position of powerful laser beams that fire a second later. The beams deal heavy damage but can be avoided with careful positioning to stay in the gaps between the beams or with dodging. When Galeem is at low health, more beams are created and the attack is done twice in a row.
- Exploding Straight Shot: Galeem produces a large blue sphere of light, which breaks apart into three to six smaller spheres that attempt to home in on the player. When Galeem is at low health, twice as many orbs will appear and will re-aim partway through their attack.
- Stationary Turret: Galeem's core splits into three yellow spheres of light, which fire a barrage of smaller projectiles. The projectiles can be reflected or absorbed.
- Intimidation: Galeem releases two to four orbs that produce powerful, slow-moving shockwaves that resemble Tabuu's Off Waves. Like the Off Waves, these cannot be shielded against, and despite not being an OHKO, they require careful dodging to avoid taking significant damage and knockback. This is only used in his second phase in his second battle only.
- Torrent of Light: Galeem covers two sides of the screen with waves of light that provide a small, ever-shifting gap of safety between them. At higher difficulties, the waves will move erratically at the horizontal axis, and on hard difficilty the waves will move erratically on all directions to a point. The attack cannot be shielded against and deals damage every 3 frames while the player is in it. If Dharkon is present, each will contribute one wave to the attack. If Dharkon is stunned, only one part of the screen is covered.
- Energy Bullet: Galeem fires a single projectile that strongly homes in on the player, eventually detonating in a large explosion if it hits the player, the ground, or stays in the air for too long.
- Light Fighter: Galeem vanishes and his wings expand, producing two (three on higher difficulties) light false characters to support him. These eventually self-destruct after a period of time and their explosion, while not terribly powerful, has wide range. If dark false characters are present, they will fight each other.
