“You-” Fume Hood tried. “You told me your stories. Your trigger events. You told me who you are. Let me- let me tell you who I am. I’m Withdrawal’s mom. Selfish and lazy and dismissive and really fucking bad at taking care of others. I’m the kids who egged Finale on, and the asshole who scared her after. I’ve been such a jackass for so many years, I hurt and scared so many people. I’ve dealt drugs to people who were like your mom, Caryatid, I’ve drugged people. I’ve ruined lives and broken up families just by being there. Sometimes on purpose, or for fun.”

“Maybe that’s who you were, but you’re other things too,” Caryatid said. “You wouldn’t be here if you weren’t.”

He communicated with her.

[Respond?]

Her reply was inarticulate. Almost, she was ready to give up fighting, to consider her job done. She’d limited some of the damage and spared some of the lives.

[Help] was the second attempt from the distant voice.

This was hell. Her hell. It had to be everyone’s hell. For all her life, she had fought so hard and made so little progress, everything only evident in retrospect.

This was that, with too much on the line. She wasn’t nearly as strong as some or even most of the others that were emerging to stand tall, and she was already so very tired, so very weary of the world and her place in it.

It had been minutes.

He was asking for her to hold onto focus over days, if not weeks, months. He asked knowing how hard this was, because he had been enduring it.

She pushed out her own reply, trying to use power to articulate words, traveling along cracks and vast, broken emptiness. Along the new networks the woman in the suit was helping to form. [Yes]

Summary

Fume Hood is an ex-villain, Blasto's ex-girlfriend and now recently a hero, serving as a minor character in Ward. Originally a villain in Boston, she gave up the life of crime after accidentally causing a pregnant woman to undergo a miscarriage. She first appeared in Ward's first arc, attempting to debut her hero identity in public, only to get shot by a civilian. After being encouraged by Victoria Dallon, she decided to still continue her journey as a hero, becoming friends with her, and eventually journing the Major Malfunctions as their mentor.

During a critical riot within the portals between Earth Gimel and Cheit, Fume Hood got shot trying to protect the Major Malfunctions, before proceeding to gas and kill several dozen people in order to protect them. This caused her to break down and have a broken Second Trigger, turning into the second Titan to appear. She joined forces with Dauntless in order to fight against Contessa and the Simurgh, siding with humanity.

Powers and Stats

Tier: 10-A, 9-C with orb throws | 8-B, likely High 7-C, possibly higher

Name: Lauren, Fume Hood, Rotten Apple, Poison Apple, Bad Apple, Horse Apple, Pomme De Sang | Titan Eve

Origin: Ward

Gender: Female

Age: 29

Classification: Cape (Blaster/Shaker), Ex-Villain, Hero, honorary member of The Major Malfunctions | Titan

Powers and Abilities:

Limited Creation, Poison Manipulation (Her power allows her to create billiard ball sized orbs that contain massive amounts of noxious and poisonous substances within, be them gaseous or liquid. The effects and potency of the poison will depend on how diluted Fume Hood decides to make them, but will usually leave others nauseated, feeble and confused[1]. Has shown to be capable of replicating the effects of tear gas[2], which is considered a very low concentrated version of her gas[3]), limited Explosion Manipulation (Upon throwing the poison orbs, they will release a concussive explosion, spreading its contents rapidly), Sleep Manipulation (Can replicate the effects of knockout gas with a deeply nauseous gas that quickly puts people out of fights[3]), Stealth Mastery (Can hide herself amidst her gas, making herself more difficult to target[2]), Biological Manipulation, Corrosion Inducement (At its strongest and most toxic, her power can create instant necrosis that will instantly kill grass and even trees, and is capable of liquifying humans. Even when diluted, created blisters across someone's entire body, even when they decked in tight anti-gas gear[3][4]), limited Telekinesis and Homing Attack (Can telekinetically control her orbs, having them orbit around her or make them home targets[2][5]), Resistance to Poison Manipulation and Corrosion Inducement (Her power gives her an immunity against her own gas, meaning her power should protect her against similar poisons and gases, as is common for powers to do in Worm)

All previous powers to a far greater extent, Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Enhanced Senses, Psychometry, Cosmic Awareness (Titans possess senses that have nothing to do with senses as humans see it. They can see across many worlds simultaneously, view the past history and secrets of others, and identify changes on microscopic levels with these senses[6][7]. Titan Eve visualized Contessa's connections across all Earths[3]) Large Size (Type 1. Between six to seven stories tall[8]), Longevity (Titans can live for at least 300 years), Immortality (Type 2 and 3. Should scale to the Ashen Titan and to the Pouffe Titan, who survived massive damaged that destroyed the majority of their body, Pouffe even breaking into pieces, and would recouperate[9]. Titan Oberon survived despite massive damage to his entire body, including having an immense number of holes put into his body[6]), Regeneration (High-Mid. Titans regenerate from damage. Titan Oberon rapidly regenerated most of his injuries in the span of time he was not being harrassed, and would have completely recovered in half an hour to an hour[10]. Titan Pouffe, who had previously been crumbled to pieces not a few hours prior, later appeared seemingly recovered[11]) Reality Warping, Dimensional Manipulation, Biological Manipulation, Power Nullification, Power Modification (Titans's presence endangers the stability of reality and may cause cracks in reality that extent into Shardspace, a higher dimensional space, that morphs others into Titans and turn off powers near it[12]. Titans forming networks further extends this damage to reality[4]. While broken triggering, Fume Hood managed to tke control of the cracks to an extent, sterring them away from others[3]), Mind Manipulation (Formed a network with Dauntless[3]. Had she won against Titan Oberon, likely would have absorbed his network into her's), Self-Sustenance (Type 3. Titans do not get tired[13]. Likely type 1, as they planned to survive the Cycle, which would launch them into space), Enhanced Poison Manipulation and Corrosion Inducement (Can create far more gas and liquid than before, spreading it across city blocks with ease[4][6]. Toxicity is far greater than before, capable of corroding even inorganic material, and can severely corrode the bodies of other Titans, despite the alien physiology that makes up their body. Managed to create blisters on Titan Skadi, despite her body being composed entirely of armor pieces[6][10]), Acid Manipulation (Her gases can cause chemical burns[14]), Matter Manipulation, Transmutation (Can fully control the toxic substances she releases, easily changing its phases between gaseous, solid and liquid[3]. Can shape the substances in whatever way she wants, creating spikes and spears that she launches with far more strength than before. Can create walls between herself and danger, and turn that wall back into gas when attacked. Can spread her poison far and wide by breaking down solid poison and turning it back into gas[6][15][10]), Danmaku (Can release a truly massive amount of attacks from her gas, showering Titan Oberon with spikes, the deflection of the attack spreading her gas across the entire Fallen compound, which encompasses a town[6]), Organic Manipulation, Adhesive Manipulation (Can create light green gasses that coat everything they touch in a massive amount of adhesive, slippery slime, creating an absolutely massive amount, capable of bringing down buildings with their weight. This slime permeates even people. Can inconvenience and stop even Titan Oberon, despite his movement powers[15]), Physics Manipulation (Can create extradimensional toxic gases that effortlessly passes through any matter, including Titan flesh, faster than any other gas she has. This gas defies physics, leaving the structures engulfed by it still standing despite massive holes in it, and leaving others alive despite tearing through every vital organ they have. Directly employing extradimensional offensives in Worm and Ward are considered able to punch through any durability, with powers such as Sting and Chaos working on such ways, and thus this gas possibly works on similar mechanics[6][15][16]), Animal Manipulation (Those affected by the pink gas have massive maggots emerge from their bodies, burrowing their body from the inside out. Sizes depend on the structure affected, and when spawned from a Titan they managed to dig deep into the Titan itself[6]), Supernatural Willpower (Alongside Dauntless, held onto the her consciousness despite being taken over by her Shard, despite the massively stacked odds against her[3])

Precognition, Psychometry, Cosmic Awareness (Have similar physiologies to Endbringers and Giants[17][18], with said Endbringers being resistant to Path to Victory, which was also unable to predict the rise of the Titans. Giants are soft blindspots within a Titan's extra-dimensional senses[7]), Telekinesis, Matter Manipulation (Titans resist the Giantess's attempts to telekinetically distort them, with her telekinesis allowing her to manipulate atoms and molecules[7]), Poison Manipulation, Corrosion Inducement (Even greater than before, as she can resist her own gases), Mind Manipulation (Alongside resisting her telekinesis, Titans can also resist the Giantess's influence, even as she increases its potency[7]), Power Nullification (Titans's powers work despite being around and at the center of the cracks in reality, which shut powers down)

Attack Potency: Athlete level (Heroes are expected to maintain an athletic physique[19]. Knocked out a man in armor with a punch[3]), Street level with orb throws (Can shoot them at 90 miles per hour[3]. The explosion of gas has a concussive effect that can knock people off their feet. The explosions, at point blank, are believed to be strong enough to cause a miscarriage[1]), Her power ignores durability | City Block level (Titans are stronger than The Simurgh[20]. Threw a massive spike at Titan Oberon faster than the speed of sound), likely Large Town level (Likely comparable to the Ashen Titan, who incinerated a city block, and likely fought her alongside Legend and Dauntless when fighting Contessa's forces), possibly higher (Mentioned in the same vein as Legend and Dauntless, and held off much of Contessa's forces with just their help, despite her having dozens of Titans networked at that point. Given a network is the same process as starting the creation of an Entity again, it is very possible that networked Titans share power and energy amongst themselves, and thus, it's possible that Dauntless has been supplying Eve with power during her time as a Titan[21][15]). Her power ignores durability

Speed: Athletic Human, Subsonic attack speed (Can shoot her orbs at speeds comparable to a baseball pitcher and at 90 miles per hour[3]) | Subsonic (Titans can keep up with the likes of Legend. Soared through the sky towards a Titan Oberon who was not using super speed, catching up to him[6]), Subsonic+ to Hypersonic attack speed (Even her slower, more numerous projectiles soar foward almost as fast as a bullet, her faster throws have crossed one and a half miles in an instant[6]")

Lifting Strength: Athletic Human | Class M (Comparable to the Nemean Titan, who could topple a skyscrapper[22])

Striking Strength: Athletic Human | City Block level, likely Large Town level, possibly higher

Durability: Athlete level | Mountain level (While he damages them very significantly, Titans can take hits from Titan Dauntless)

Stamina: Athletic (Managed to use her power on reflex and to protect the Major Malfunctions after getting shot in the stomach) | Superhuman (Shards would only run out of energy after 300 years. Likely does not feel pain the same way humans do, as it kept fighting even with her body being caved in by Titan Oberon and taking a headbutt to the feet from Torso)

Range: Tens to Hundreds of Meters (Can affect entire crowds of people with her power[23][3], her thrown speed has been compared to a baseball pitcher's) | At least Kilometers (Attacked Titan Oberon from one and a half miles away with projectiles, her gas covered much of the Fallen Compound), Interdimensional with Shardspace cracks (Extend across all Earths)

Standard Equipment: Her outfit, built with a cooling fan in the back | None notable

Intelligence: Despite having had a non-productive career as a cape for most of her life, she still has over 13 years of experience as a cape and with her power. This has made her rather knowledgeable on how capes operate, mentoring the Major Malfunctions through much of their earlier career. Has shown proficiency with her power, leveraging its obfuscating aspects as much as her area of denial aspects. As a Titan, Fume Hood managed to keep her consciousness, despite being taken over by her Shard. With the help of Dauntless, she managed to fight off Contessa's forces for an extended period of time.

Standard Tactics: Very adverse to more lethal levels of her power due to past trauma. Will fill entire areas with less lethal versions of her gas, in an attempt to neutralize others. Using her visual disruptions to avoid being seen and make others blind, she is quite hard to actually target in a tactically viable environment. | As a Titan, her control of her gas is much greater than before. Due to having massively increased reach, durability, and regeneration, Titan Eve will likely surround herself with walls of gases, protecting herself even further, while launching a massive number of attacks, hitting enemies with corrosive clouds, physics defying waves of gases and environment disrupting slime. Her control of the battlefield is grand.

Weaknesses: Refuses to go for lethal options, and as such can be countered by those wearing gas masks, although slightly more potent gas is able to counter it by overloading the mask, or with liquid poison. The fan at her back makes very slight deformations in her gas clouds that could be picked up to locate her. | The "skin" of Titans are not very durable, with even normal capes such as Flashbang and Marquis tearing through, although such damage is immediately regenerated and does not pose a threat to the Titan. Her attacks are indiscriminate enough to hurt allies without attempting to.

Notable Attacks / Techniques:

  • Gas Orbs: Fume Hood power allows for the creation of orbs, the size of a fist, containing a variety of noxious materials, from liquids to gases. Her power gives her low-level telekinetic control over them. The orbs are fragile, and upon impact, will detonate in a small explosion, spreading whatever is inside far and wide. She can recall her gas and presumably liquid back by recalling it and creating another orb[24]. The effects of the gas and liquid severely vary depending on the potency, concentration and composition of the gas she makes. Her gas can choke others, give them nausea, feebleness, weakness, work as tear gas, cause miscarriages, knock out others, and at its most powerful, even instantly kill anything inside by melting the living matter inside. Her power allows the creation of a large number of orbs, up to 6 at once.

  • Gas Control: Her versatility has exponentially increased due to her Titanizing, with Eve having full control of her gas now, being able to easily change its states between solid and gaseous, and presumably from either to liquid. Her telekinesis is now far greater, being able to launch her projectiles faster than sound at her peak power, throwing a multitude of projectiles at once, forming and reforming gas into solid to further spread and trap others with her poison, and more. Her potency is now far greater, being able to rot, burn and blister even Titans now.
    • Hot Pink Gas: An alternative version of her gas, with a hot pink edge to it. The gas effortlessly passes through matter, producing perfect holes within anything it passes, hardening its edges so structural capacity is kept. Whatever is sweept by the gas is devoured from the inside out by alien maggots that grow in size according to whatever was affected by her gas. This gas effortlessly punched holes in Titan Oberon, and was said by Tattletale to be extradimensional and to weaponize this, likely negating durability such as March, Ashley and others do. This gas keeps whoever is destroyed by it incapacitated but alive, although the maggots inside will still kill those eaten by it.
    • Slime Gas: A lighter green compared to other gases. Whatever is sweept by it will have a massive layer of slime created on top of it, causing entire areas to be drowned in sticky, yet slippery slime. The weight is such that buildings collapse, and it seeps into the inside of inorganic structures. Even within living beings, their "surface" is coated and covered with slime, getting into their clothes and past them. This slime is even able to disrupt Titan Oberon, who has powers that assist his maneuverability.
