Summary
One of the very first beings to come into creation, before Earth, or Heaven, the First of the Fallen was the advisor of God Himself. However, one day he disagreed with the will of his master, who cast him down from Heaven down to the shapeless void that would become Hell, which he wandered alone until the arrival of the Morningstar.
When Lucifer abandoned Hell, the First took his place, ruling over demons and the souls of the damned with an iron fist. However, one of the many humans he had made a deal with escaped his grasp thanks to the intervention of John Constantine, who at the time was dying of lung cancer. Using the fact that the First was blinded by his rage, John made a deal with him and his two peers, selling his soul to each of them which forced them to heal him instead, as their unwillingness to concede to the others would have caused a civil war in Hell. Though defeated, the First of the Fallen now hated John Constantine above anyone else, and came back to threaten him many more times, taking the lives of many of his beloved ones and haunting him as one of, if not his greatest foe.
