Summary
Yu Kanda is an Exorcist and member of the European Branch of the Black Order, formerly of the Asian Branch. He is a Second Exorcist, an Exorcist raised in a test tube and artificially modified to bear the Innocence of the previous Exorcist his brain formerly belonged to. He is also the second incarnation of the lover of fellow Second Exorcist Alma Karma's former incarnation. Kanda is a cold, stoic, and arrogant person who shows little regard to the lives of those around him, even his fellow Exorcists. He is, more often than not, willing to leave those who slow him down behind, even if it means their death and especially if they are not Exorcists. Since coming back after Alma's death, Kanda has expressed repentant feeling towards his behavior for all of those years, blaming himself for Allen's current state and feeling like he can't die in peace until he repays Allen's kindness.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Mugen: Kanda's Innocence is called Mugen, it takes the form of a chokuto with a black handle, this Innocence grants Yu Kanda the ability to create and manipulate "Illusions" which grants Yu a plethora of abilities.
- First Illusion - Netherworld Insects: First Illusion or "Level 1" Illusion allows Yu to create small creatures from the blade of his sword, these creatures will constantly hunt Yu's opponent until they're killed and devoured.
- Double Illusion Sword: Double Illusion or "Level 2" Illusions grants Yu the ability to coat his weapons with a condensed form of the energy which is created by his Innocence, this energy can also be used to create another blade which can be off-handed by Yu, this condensed energy greatly increases the cutting potential of Mugen.
- Eight Flower Mantis: While using "Level 2" Illusion, Yu Kanda can send out eight slashes of condensed energy to cut through his opponents.
- Ascending Flower: Triple Illusions or "Level 3" grants Yu Kanda the ability to use his own life-force to massively increase his attacking power and speed, it also allows him to reform Mugen it its ever damaged through sacrificing his life-force, but such great power begets a large cost and in this case it greatly decreases and slows the regeneration capabilities of Yu.
- Fourth Illusion Style: Fourth Illusions or "Level 4" works on the same principle as "Level 3" Illusion does but to a much greater extend, allowing Yu to increase his attacking power and speed even more but at the cost of more of his life-force. This form also grants Yu the ability of "Exploding Spirit Cut" which creates a explosive within the wound caused by the attack, this explosive can be remotely detonated at any point of time by Yu through thinking of the word "detonation", this can be used while Yu is in his "Level 5" Illusion as well.
- Fifth Illusion Style: Fifth Illusion or "Level 5" Illusion takes the previous two principles to its utmost limited, greatly increasing Yu Kanda's attacking power and speed but at the cost of draining even more of his life-force, it also starts to even drain his soul of its power, causing his impending death to happen even sooner compared to any other level of illusions, this form also causes Mugen to passively create dark lighting-like energy bolts from its blade, increasing Yu's attacking power even further and puts Yu within a berserker like state, causing him to only care about killing his opponent and nothing else.
