Summary

The Devil Sword Sparda and its unawakened form, Force Edge, is the beloved demon-forged sword wielded by the Dark Knight Sparda himself, and magically imbued with his power. Throughout the series, the sword is recognized as a source of god-like power, and in both Devil May Cry 3 and Devil May Cry 4, it was the main objective of the villains.

Powers and Stats

Tier: 2-C, higher as Devil Sword Sparda

Name: The Devil Sword Sparda, The Force Edge

Origin: Devil May Cry

Age: At least 2000 years

Classification: Sword

Wielders: Sparda, Dante, Trish, Sanctus, Vergil, V (Temporarily) and Arkham

Powers and Abilities: Self-Sustenance (Type 1, Dante, after awakening the sword's powers, could survive in the vacuum of space)[1] Darkness Manipulation, Demonic Energy Manipulation, Unholy Manipulation, Power Bestowal (Can give the user the powers of Sparda, which likely includes many abilities from his inheritance), Summoning (Its Devil Trigger grants the user the ability of summoning a dragon made of Demonic Energy[1]), Resurrection (The sword is capable of resurrecting Trish[2], having done so when she was killed by Mundus[3]), Non-Physical Interaction (Can harm intangible beings), BFR and Power Nullification via Sealing (Is capable of sealing demons or dimensions[4][5][6], this ability also sends the target to the Demon World and removes their powers. The seal is capable of prohibiting demons on certain level of power from passing through there using their consciousness, since despite lesser demons being capable of sending their consciousness to the Human World to possess things[7], this is something that the high-ranking demons can't do, since they have some problems, one of those[8] being because of their powers[9] being unable to pass through the gaps, requiring large portals to successfully pass through[10]) | Resistance to Time Stop (Should grant Sparda's powers, which scales to other Mundus Generals), Extrasensory Perception (The Sparda can hide the presence of its wielder even against enemies with enhanced senses[11]), Extreme Cold and Cosmic Radiations (It allowed Dante to endure being in deep space, which has these properties[1])

Attack Potency: Low Multiverse level (Sparda's primary weapon of choice, and stated to be able to give the user his powers when in possession of the two amulets, however, many failed in doing so as the sword can choose its user and likely needs a relation to Sparda's bloodline to be used at its full power. Stronger than both Rebellion and Yamato, and was Dante's and Vergil's primary choice for weapon when they had it in their hands), higher as Devil Sword Sparda (Its Devil Trigger allowed Dante to defeat Mundus in Devil May Cry 1, and was a important item for Dante in his fight against Urizen, despite being weaker and ultimately being useless against the Yamato's now-reinforced barrier)

Speed: None, depends of the wielder (It can go at Massively Hypersonic+ speeds when wielded by Vergil, Trish, young Dante and Arkham, and up to Immeasurable when wielded by an older Dante and Sparda himself)

Durability: Low Multiverse level (Likely clashed with multiple Demon Kings), higher as the Devil Sword Sparda (Endured a hit from Urizen, whereas Rebellion couldn't and was shattered by a casual blow from Urizen)

Range: Extended Melee Range normally. Tens of Meters with powers

Weaknesses: To use the sword's true power, the Sword itself must choose the wielder as worthy, it also requires a strong mind and body to be used. Besides Sparda, only Dante was capable of unlocking the true power of the sword, which implies that the wielder must also have Sparda's blood to have access to all the potential. The Sword will also transform the user into a blob if the user doesn't have resistance to Biological Manipulation (Though removing the sword returned Arkham back to his normal human state)
