“ | A month has passed since our fateful encounter with Noah. Fewer and fewer gates open throughout the Ark with each passing day. But our troubles aren't over. Jin and Alicia put Neuron back together. They still don't have a new Commander, but Olive's making the best of it. Come to think of it, maybe Neuron does have a new Commander now, after all. Marie does her very best to pitch in, whether anybody wants her to or not. At the reopened ARI, Brenda's turned her research outward, to the lands we lost decades ago. But rumor has it the Hermits have turned over a new leaf towards restoration efforts in Zone 09. Maybe they've had a little help along the way. You never can tell what Hal's up to. As for Akira... ...She vanished along with Noah. But she's still here, with us, too. She doesn't know exactly what happened a month back. Maybe she never will. Why did one get left behind? Summary
The Legionis is the main protagonist of Astral Chain, whose name, gender and appearance are all customized by the player. Following in their adoptive father's footsteps, they join the Ark police alongside their twin, Akira Howard. When handling a redshift outbreak on a dispatch mission, they and Akira are chosen as the selected candidates to join the Neuron Task Force and receive a Legion, a special bioweapon created to combat the Chimeras, the invisible invaders from the Astral Plane.
Powers and Stats
Tier: 9-A, likely higher, 8-C with Sword Legion | At least 8-C, possibly Low 7-B | Unknown, far higher with Legion Fusion
Key: Pre-Sync | Post-Sync | Endgame
Name: Player-chosen, Howard (surname). Often referred to as Legionis in-game.
Origin: Astral Chain
Gender: Player-chosen
Age: 19
Classification: Human, Legionis, Neuron Task Force Officer
Powers and Abilities:
Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Chain Manipulation, Weapon Mastery, Hand-to-Hand Combat, Summoning, Enhanced Senses, Information Analysis, Energy Manipulation and Projection, Pseudo-Resurrection, minor Power Nullification, Extrasensory Perception (can see invisible enemies), Resistance towards Biological Manipulation/Corruption; all Legions have Pseudo-Flight and Levitation (except Beast), Invisibility, Paralysis Inducement, Absorption, Natural Weaponry
All prior abilities, upgraded Legions allow for: Statistics Amplification, Time Manipulation, Regeneration (Low to Mid-Low), Technology Manipulation, Summoning (Sword); Gravity Manipulation (Arm); Electricity Manipulation, Sound Manipulation, greater Extrasensory Perception (Beast); Explosion Manipulation, Forcefield Creation (Axe), Resistance to Status Effect Inducement (This includes poisoning, burning, freezing, paralysis, being slowed through sticky substances, and stunning from loud sounds) (all).
All aforementioned abilities as well as fusing with Legions to activate Berserk Transformation with Natural Weaponry and Regeneration (likely Mid-Low)
Attack Potency: Small Building level (Can fight Aberrations), likely higher (Fought the berserk Sword Legion and was able to weaken and restrain them, even while weakened by redshifting). Building level+ with Sword Legion (Damaged Enceladus, who knocked down a bridge) | At least Building level+ (Significantly stronger than before), possibly Small City level+ (Defeated Chimeras whose presence created massive rainstorms over the city) | Unknown (Fought Noah Prime, who is described as the embodiment of the Astral Plane, which is stated to be far larger than Earth and possibly infinite in size). Higher in Legion Fusion (Can harm Akira Howard's Legion Fusion, who they were unable to even scratch without fusing)
Speed: Supersonic (Dodged Jena's electricity. Can quickly cut bullets before they hit), higher with Speed Star. Legions are faster (Riding Beast Legion allows for Legionis to run across crumbling floor they can't bypass otherwise)
Lifting Strength: Average Human, likely Class 5 with Legions (Easily overpowered Laius, who effortlessly tossed a small truck into the air). Class M with Arm Legion (Lifted a massive security door) and Chain Bind (Can restrain the Arm Legion and Noah Prime)
Striking Strength: Small Building level, likely higher. Building level+ with Sword Legion | At least Building level+, possibly Small City level+, higher with Power Charge | 'Unknown, Higher in Legion Fusion
Durability: Small Building level, likely higher. Building level+ for Sword Legion (Cannot be killed itself, but can be dissipated if hit hard enough) | At least Building level+, possibly Small City level+, higher with Blue Shield (Creates energy shields that block any damage). At least Building level+, possibly Small City level+ for Legions | Unknown, higher with Blue Shield. Unknown for Legions. Higher in Legion Fusion (Equal to Akira's Legion-Fusion, which they were unable to even scratch without fusing themselves)
Stamina: Superhuman. Subjugated their own Legion to a near-standstill while heavily weakened by redshift and after nearly dying at the hands of various Chimeras and being in active combat for several hours. Then proceeded to fight off the other four Legions (all of which are just as strong as Sword Legion, if not stronger) for several minutes. Able to fight off extreme amounts of chimeras for hours on end on a near daily basis. Virtually limitless for Legions if the Legatus' energy is managed properly. Far lower for Legion Fusion form, which only lasts about thirty seconds before defusing and leaves Legionis exhausted to the point of collapse after wearing off, although this problem seems to have lessened once they learn to control the form
Range: Extended melee range with X-Baton, hundreds of meters with Blaster and Astral Chain. Legions have (on top of the Astral Chain's range) standard melee range for Sword, Arm, and Beast; several meters with Axe due to its weapon's sheer size; tens of meters with various skills; hundreds of meters with Arrow | Several meters while fused thanks to sheer size, hundreds of meters with projectiles
Standard Equipment: X-Baton (with Baton, Blaster, and Gladius modes), Legatus and Astral Chain, IRIS Eyepiece, AED Batteries; various types of Medicine, an auto-defibrillator built into suit, Grenades, Drones, Soft Drinks, Empty Soda Cans, and other items. Legions have no notable equipment apart from being connected to the Astral Chain and Legatus
Intelligence: Gifted. Competent police officer and skilled detective is capable of repairing complex machineries such as Hal's drone and police radars with little-to-no guidance. Legions vary from effectively Animalistic at the beginning (don't seem to be much smarter than an average Chimera) to likely Average by the end (seem to understand human emotions, and may act of their own volition in Legionis' best interests, even ignoring Legionis' commands to do so in certain cases)
Weaknesses: Damage taken by Legions transfers to them (this only occurs on the hardest difficulty, so it may be a gameplay mechanic). AED Batteries and Medicines have limited stock. Legions tend to get "cranky" if active for too long, although proper energy management can mitigate this issue. Won't kill civilians even if they're attacking with murderous intent, although they will use lethal force against corrupted, animalistic humans or sufficiently evil individuals such as Jena Anderson | Same as before, and also can only control one Legion at a time | Same as before. Fusing with the Legion, while a powerful tool, also strips them of any versatility they had (forcing them to go into a berserk frenzy), only lasts for a short while, and takes a very long time to recharge without using a ResoMax consumable
Notable Attacks and Techniques: |
---|
|
Standard Tactics: Legionis usually activates their Legion right away, and will likely attempt to Chain Bind the enemy to give themselves time to use skills such as Power Charge before going on the offensive. When facing multiple targets, Legionis and Legion will often, though not always, fight two foes separately, while frequently using Sync Attacks to cover each other. If Legionis is low on health, they will likely retreat to let the Legion hold off foes while quickly downing medicine to heal themselves, and may use Legion-Fusion for the Endgame key if the situation is dire enough. While rarely enraged enough to be considered bloodlusted, they would likely forgo tactics in such a case and simply attack alongside their Legion, likely fusing if the option is available
Note: Legionis' collection of Legions may be limited depending on the key. Pre-Sync can only have Sword Legion if any, and does not have access to any Legion-based techniques except Chain Binding and likely Blueshifting and Hacking. Please specify whether damage taken by the Legions is transferred to Legionis or not, as this changes depending on gameplay settings.
Also, due to the inconsistencies in the in-game C-ratings, it's likely best to ignore the scaling chain presented by them.
