Have you considered your destiny? Do you believe in fate?
~ Menat

Summary

Menat is a playable character introduced in Street Fighter V. She is an egyptian fortune teller, who lives at Palazzo Mistero in Genoa, under the teaching of Rose. She is both her assistant and apprentice, helping with various errands while learning to read the future and fight.

Rose taught her how to harness Soul Power, a form of Chi derived from one's soul, which grants the user enhanced physical capacities and several other powers. Menat's unique fighting style is characterized by her great flexibility and by the crystal ball she always carries with her to better channel Soul Power, using it both as a weapon and as a tool to perform predictions.

Menat is a cheerful girl, always full of energy and whose great admiration for Rose makes so that she often quotes her master whenever she finds an occasion to do it. Despite the age, she is already quite skilled in combat and fortune telling, although the latter aren't always correct. On top of that, her naivety dampens her sense of judgement, causing her to jump to conclusions too early and have exaggerated reactions sometimes, but she never gives up and is always ready to help and improve her abilities.

She likes souvenirs from across the world and journaling, and dislikes foul mouthed-people and thrill rides.

Powers and Stats

Tier: 9-A

Name: Menat

Origin: Street Fighter

Gender: Female

Age: Late teens

Classification: Human, Fighter, Fortune Teller, Disciple of Rose

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Martial Arts (Expert in a fighting style revolving around [1] her Soul Power), Acrobatics, Weapon Mastery (Proficient in using her crystal ball as a weapon), Chi Manipulation and Projection (Able to use Soul Power and its many applications), Aura, Telekinesis (Used to maneuver her crystal ball through the air and to attach it to the opponents. Menat can also use telekinesis to grab the opponents when her crystal ball isn't at hand), Forcefield Creation, Attack Reflection and Energy Absorption (Via Soul Reflect), Explosion Manipulation (Via Soul Spark), Teleportation (Via Left Eye of the Lion. Can also vanish [2] at will), Telepathy (Talked [2] into Ed's mind and challenged him to a fight that didn't take place [3] in the physical world), Precognition (Can see the near and distant future of herself and others. This ability also allows her to predict [4] her opponent's movements), Extrasensory Perception (Can sense [2] energy and follow [2] it to its source), Clairvoyance (Can see others [2] in her crystal ball [5] and pinpoint their position. It can also be used to watch videos [5] on internet), Damage Boost (Can perform enhanced versions of her Special Attacks), Status Effect Inducement (By hitting the opponent repeteadly, without them being able to recover, she can cause them to enter the "Stun" status, which leaves them unable to react), likely limited Resistance to Precognition (Her statement about the difficulty of reading the future of the fighters[6] should likely apply to herself too)

Attack Potency: Small Building level (Fought[2] evenly with Ed, who was able to match[3] Balrog. Defeated[2] Aprile and several Shadaloo soldiers)

Speed: Subsonic Travel Speed (Should be at the very least comparable to, if not faster than Dan Hibiki, who's consistently portrayed as the least physically impressive character of the series), with Supersonic+ reactions and combat speed (Can keep up with Ed, who is on par with Balrog)

Lifting Strength: Class 5 (Regarded as not physically strong, [7] but is still comparable to characters who can jump up to about 8 meters)

Striking Strength: Small Building level (Could hurt Ed and overcome Aprile)

Durability: Small Building level (Can withstand hits from Ed)

Stamina: Athletic (Is a trained fighter in a good physical condition)

Range: Standard Melee Range, Several Meters with her Crystal Ball and projectiles

Standard Equipment: Crystal Ball

Intelligence: Above Average (An average girl overall, but has quite a variety of skills. Rose taught her to use Soul Power and several abilities related to it, around which Menat created her own fighting style. The most notable is the ability to see the future and, although she still has to perfect it, Menat can perform accurate predictions most of the times. She can understand [8] people's feelings [9] and give advices, either using Rose's teachings or her own sense of judgement [10]. Is a capable fighter, having bested Ed and defeated Aprile, one of Shadaloo's top assassins, who also had a troop of soldiers to back her up. Is a skilled dancer [1] and is able to employ such type of movements even in combat, to bewilder her opponents [7] and perform acrobatic attacks. Often performs tricks with her crystal ball, such as juggling, catching or holding it with her head, feet and hands during combat and while executing some techniques)

Weaknesses: Somewhat naive. Can have problems[11] making[12] predictions[13] at times, or they can be cryptic[14] even to her.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Divine Retribution: Menat performs a cartwheel and hits the opponent with two kicks.
  • Judgement of Anubis: Menat performs a split, sliding towards the opponent and strikes them with the tip of her foot.
  • Khamun Kick: Menat jumps in the air, stops her momentum and delivers a kick while descending in a corkscrew-like motion.

  • Overflowing Nile: Menat pushes the opponent back with her crystal ball, then leaps and strikes the ball with a dropkick, driving it onto their face. If the crystal ball isn't available to her, Menat will use her telekinesis to push the opponent and hit them with the same dropkick.
  • Pyramid Hopscotch: Menat grabs the opponent and places her hands on the back of their head, then uses both arms to push herself upwards and deliver a knee strike to her crystal ball, which is driven on their nose. She follows up by landing on the opponent and stomping their face, causing them to fall down while she smoothly returns on the ground. If the crystal ball isn't available, Menat's knee strike hits the opponent directly, while the rest of the throw remains unchanged.

  • Soul Sphere: Menat charges up her crystal ball with Soul Power, then shoots it at the opponent. She can also choose at which direction firing it. The first EX version features Menat shooting the ball towards the opponent's feet, catching one of them with it and causing them to lose balance; after that, the ball is brought behind their back and used to push them towards Menat, leaving them open to further attacks and combos. The second EX versions consists in the crystal orb being fired at the opponent's chest and then attached to it through telekinetic force; Menat calls back her crystal ball, bringing along the opponent, who is then striken on the midsection by the same ball once they stop. The third EX version is an anti-air attack, as Menat fires her orb towards an airborne opponent, who gets hit in the stomach and then driven down onto the ground, with the crystal ball still below their body.
    • Ankh: If the crystal ball is left lingering around after performing Soul Sphere, Menat can imbue it with Soul Power from distance and call it back to her, damaging the opponent while travelling.
  • Guardian of the Sun: Menats leaps and grabs an airborne opponent, bringing them down with her while holding them over her crystal ball. She then imbues the ball with Soul Power and tosses away the opponent. The EX version sees Menat charging the ball with even more Soul Power and dealing more damage.
  • Soul Spark: If the crystal ball is left around the battlefield, Menat can charge it with Soul Power and generate a small energy explosion, before calling the ball back to her.

  • The Nefertem: Menat imbues her crystal ball with Soul Power and sends it towards the opponent. If it connects, Menat enters a cat-like stance and starts performing a belly dance while surrounded by a Soul Power aura. While she dances, her crystal ball flies around and repeteadly strikes the opponent from multiple directions, until Menat bends her body backwards and stretches her leg upwards, causing the orb to strik the opponent's chin, for a final hit that sends them flying.
    • Left Eye of the Lion: After blocking an attack, Menat curls on herself and teleports behind the opponent, regardless of the distance between them.
    • Sistrum of Fortune: Menat quickly dashes backwards to dodge an incoming attack and replies with a quick, powerful donkey kick that strikes the opponent before they are able to react, knocking them down.
    • Soul Reflect: Menat creates a forcefield, which can either absorb projectiles (if Menat doesn't have her crystal ball at hand) or reflect them (if the crystal ball is available).
      • Kamal: The standard type of forcefield, created when Menat is standing up.
      • Stella: A variant of the forcefield created when Menat is crouching down.
    • Soul Spiral: Menat channels Soul Power and slides towards the opponent, striking them either with her crystal ball or her hand.
    • Wisdom of Thoth: Menat creates six orbs of Soul Power that float around her for a while. She can then fire one or all of them at the opponent anytime and at different directions. This technique gives her a wide variety of possible combinations, using the orbs to attack from distance, extend combos, juggle the opponent, get protection if another attack misses and so on.
    • Prophecy of Thoth: Another set of six Soul Power orbs summoned by Menat. This technique has less potential if compared to the previous, as Menat can only fire all the orbs at the same time, but it also consumes less energy and allows Menat to summon another set of six orbs after having fired the first one.
      • Judgement of Thoth: Menat shoots all her orbs towards the opponent, even upwards. Alternatively, Menat can make the orbs float above herself and them make them rain over the opponent.
