Summary
As punishment for resisting Shao Kahn’s claim to the realm of Edenia, the souls of the vanquished were torn from their bodies and fused together to form the being now known as Ermac. Bent to Shao Kahn’s will, Ermac is his foremost enforcer. The essences of so many souls bound together give Ermac immense telekinetic power–an advantage that will destroy Earthrealm’s resistance to Shao Kahn’s rule.

In MKX, he has a fictional fighting style where he fights like a floating ghost), Extrasensory Perception (Can sense souls within an area), Genius Intelligence, Magic (Ermac is a being born from magic and some of his powers are magical as well), Flight (True flight), Longevity (Ermac's lifespan is naturally long due to the amount of souls in him), Immortality (Type 7. Ermac is a rotting body composed of the souls of slain Edenians), Multiple Selves (Type 2; Ermac is composed by countless souls, each with its own consciousness), Self-Sustenance (Type 2), Telekinesis (The large amount of souls inside Ermac is the source of his telekinetic power), Teleportation (Can instantly teleport himself over short distances), Soul Manipulation (Can manipulate the souls of the dead, especially his own. Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- We Win: Ermac swings his fists in a circular motion and throws an uppercut. He flicks his hand to fire a blast of energy at the airborne opponent.
- Soul Charge: Ermac charges a burst of energy in their hands and fires it at the opponent. The attack can be delayed, the amount of time spent delaying will increase its damage.
- Unstoppable Force: After connecting with Soul Charge, Ermac launches the opponent with an energy burst. They then hit the airborne opponent with two bursts.
- The Risen: Ermac performs a rising palm strike imbued with energy.
- Soul Rush: Ermac throws three palm strikes imbued with energy.
- Psychic Strikes: Ermac does a spinning back hand and fires an energy blast from their other hand before doing a spinning kick.
- Lost Souls: After the initial hit, Ermac aims down and fires an energy blast.
- Relinquish (MKX): Ermac strikes with an energy imbued palm and slaps the opponent before throwing another energy blast.
- Tortured Souls: Ermac swings his arm downward and sends their opponent flying with a rising energy slap.
- Certain Death: Adds another downward swing to the combo before the final hit.
- Inner Misery: Ermac does a low kick and fires a close range burst at the opponent's legs. They then bring the opponent up and down with his powers.
- Ermac can add another slam that sends the opponent behind and in front of them.
- After striking the opponent, Ermac can fire up to three rapid bursts at the airborne opponent.
- While levitating the opponent, he can heal himself by siphoning the opponent's soul before blasting them.
- Soul Release: After using Soul Ball on an opponent, they can cause an energy explosion.
