The Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, commonly known as the Jedi interceptor, was a model of small starfighter manufactured by Kuat Systems Engineering, a subsidiary of the famous Kuat Drive Yards. Introduced some time during the later stages of the Clone Wars, the Eta-2 proved popular with many Jedi aces, such as Anakin Skywalker and Saesee Tiin, due to its outstanding speed and agility and impressive firepower relative to size. After the end of the Clone Wars and rise of the Galactic Empire, Darth Vader continued using a couple of customized Eta-2 interceptors up till at least 14 BBY.
Powers and Stats
Tier: High 8-C with ion cannons. 7-C with laser cannons
Name: Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor
Origin: Star Wars
Classification: Space superiority starfighter
Users: Jedi Order, Darth Vader
Length: 5.47 metres
Width: 4.3 metres
Depth: 2.5 metres (S-foils extended)
Material: Likely titanium armor fuselage and transparisteel canopy
Needed prerequisite for use: 1 trained pilot plus 1 astromech droid (though the pilot alone can indeed fly the craft and operate all of its systems)
Terrain: Space, Atmosphere
Attack Potency: Large Building level+ with ion cannons (Though designed to disable electronic droid brains and shielding with their EMP bursts, the plasma bolts unleashed by ion cannons can be damaging. These cannons can severely damage the body of a Vulture Droid and well placed hits can blast off the wing panels of other Eta-2 interceptors). Town level+ with laser cannons (More powerful than the laser cannons of the Delta-7B attack craft. A few shots can destroy the shield generators of capital ship hangars and severely damage the unshielded hull of something like a Gozanti-class Cruiser)
Speed: Supersonic atmospheric speeds (1,500+ km/hr). Can accelerate continuously to Sub-Relativistic+ speeds in space (Can keep up with ships as fast as the Carrion Spike). Massively FTL+ travel with hyperspace ring (Ring is equipped with a Class 1 hyperdrive. Should thus be twice as fast as Class 2 hyperdrive equipped vessels and capable of covering tens of thousands of light-years in a matter of hours)
Durability: Large Building level+ (Overall far better built and more durable than the TIE Fighter. Can survive a point blank self-destruction of a Pistoeka sabotage droid, which can be comparable to a thermal detonator explosion)
Range: Several kilometres with its laser cannons
- Lacks deflector shields and various advanced sensor suites.
- Only a trained Force Adept pilot can use it to its fullest potential.
- Its laser cannons sacrifice rate of fire and accuracy in favour of greater yields per shot.
- Lack of an internal hyperdrive necessitates the use of a hyperdrive docking ring or docking with a larger hyperdrive equipped carrier ship (which somewhat reduces its overall tactical/strategic viability).
