Summary
Engels are a type of Goliath-class machines appearing in NieR: Automata. They appear multiple times throughout the game, almost exclusively as bosses. They have a size of around a hundred meters and mining machinery for arms.
The first time Engels are encountered in the game is at the end of the first mission of 2B and 9S. Those Engels end up being destroyed by them. Later other Engels appear launching an attack on the city. They get stopped by 2B and 9S as well.
