The Dragon Element is a special element featured in the Monster Hunter series. It is a mysterious force that is manipulated by all Elder Dragons and some other monsters such as Deviljho. A force resembling the Dragon Element can also be found in Dragonfell Berries. Great Dracophage Bugs gain their power by eating these berries.

Pure Dragon energy will directly attack the mind of whatever creature is affected by it, and the more sentient and intelligent the creature, the more harm the Dragon Element will cause them.

Hunters are able to infuse the Dragon Element with their weapons, giving that weapon the properties of Dragon Element.

Powers and Stats

Tier: Unknown

Name: Dragon Element

Origin: Monster Hunter

Age: Unknown. Presumably as old as the oldest Elder Dragons

Classification: A form of energy

Wielders: All Elder Dragons, Akantor, Deviljho, Stygian Zinogre, Great Dracophage Bugs, Agnaktor EX, Tigrex EX, Doragyurosu, Anorupatisu, Poikilos Lightenna, and Hunters

Powers and Abilities: Mind Manipulation (will directly attack the mind of whatever is affected by it), Durability Negation (damage is proportional to intelligence rather than durability). Can inflict Dragonblight, which causes Power Nullification and Statistics Reduction (can remove the elemental properties of a target, and also sap their strength away from them).

Attack Potency: Varies depending on target intelligence. Standard Intelligence Humans are considered the baseline, where it will inflict a relatively average amount of damage. Anything more intelligent will take extra damage, and anything less intelligent will resist. It is unknown if there are any limits to how much damage it can inflict against higher intelligence creatures.

Weaknesses: Will not work against stupid creatures

Note: The effectiveness of the Dragon Element is somewhat affected by the location on the target's body that it is applied to. As a general rule, it will be much more effective when applied closer to the target's head. This is especially prevalent against creatures with a Large Size. There are exceptions to this rule, however.
