Summary

This page will cover the cosmology of the Dragon Ball Games' Cosmology, more specifically, Dragon Ball Heroes and Xenoverse multiverse, or we can call it Dragon Ball Heroes multiverse for short

Basic Cosmology

Well, at first we should cover the basics of the cosmology first before we dive into the game's multiverse.

As we all know, all DB Games alike are based on all the materials from Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball GT and Dragon Ball Super, and then expands itself on this basic framework. Thus all elements from this Dragon Ball Cosmology are also canon and usable for the Game Cosmology

  • Ziku World was introduced in Dragon Ball Fusions with the game cosmology itself being a part of the Xenoverse & Heroes multiverse, the reason will be explained in the Shared Multiverse section

  • With the Crack of Time being a construct which contains the entire multiverse itself while simultaneously existing outside the normal multiverse entirely and beyond normal reach, this would make the realm beyond baseline Low Complex Multiversal (Low 1-C) in range

Xenoverse & Heroes

Now time for the main cosmology of Dragon Ball Games. First we cover the two major games: Dragon Ball Xenoverse and (Super) Dragon Ball Heroes. On the surface, Xenoverse and Heroes look like unconnected, individual titles and very simple; however, they are actually connected to each others

In Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, we have this statement:[19]

1. Those statements come from two time patrollers, which are a knowledgeable source. They were translated 2 years ago by Japanese people, and here's what they say:

  • JP: はあ... 歴史について学んでも学んでも... キリがないな... 頭が痛くなるぜ...!
  • EN: Hah...If you learned or not about history...[you know] it doesn't make sense....my head is going to start hurting.
  • JP: まあ 歴史なんて 無限に枝分かれしてるうえにどの歴史がどう正しいかなんてわからないしね..
  • EN: History is infinitely branched out...I don't know which one is right [after a while]..

Here's another translation:

History in Dragon Ball Xenoverse was stated to be the same as timelines/space-times and also the multiverse. Each history refers to a timeline/space-time continuum[20][19][21]

2. Now we come to the next statement by Fu, one of the smartest character of the verse:[20]

Fu clearly stated he wants to explore all possibilities, which means all possible timelines, all possible events, all possibly history are already realized for him to explore. Which itself similar to the Japanese dialogue above, where it's stated that history itself is infinitely branched.

The DLC where Fu makes this statement is appropriately named “Infinite History”.

As you can clearly see, All this evidence clearly indicates that there is an infinite number of timelines within Xenoverse, which would place the cosmology at Infinite 5D hypertimelines or infinite Low 1-C.

Dragon Ball Heroes, cosmology wise, the verse has statement from Crimson-Masked Saiyan, who stated that there were countless space-times/timelines.[22][23] However, this media incorporates multiple Dragon Ball Games, including ones that actually have a infinite Low 1-C cosmology.

Dragon Ball Heroes x Dragon Ball Xenoverse

Unlike what we used to believe before, Xenoverse and Heroes do actually coexist in the same multiverse, as separate timelines. Here's why:

  • In the November 2014 issue of V-Jump, which talks about the Evil Dragon Missions, it is stated that Xenoverse Time Patroller Trunks crossed space-time to help Goku and Vegeta in DBH. This would mean that Xenoverse and Heroes coexist in the same multiverse, which would make the latter's cosmology infinite Low 1-C.

These are the important lines of the scan's text:

「DBXV」のトランクスが時空を超え緊急参戦!

悟空やベジータの力になるため、 異次元から の使者が「DBH」 に激烈参戦するぞォ!!!

A translation of this was asked, and here's what it says:

  • “Trunks from DBXV has exceeded space-time to quickly join the fight! To help Goku and Vegeta (and others), a messenger of another dimension has joined the violent war in DBH!!!”
  • The official short animated trailer[24] for Evil Dragon Mission 6 which also featured the event
  • Screenshots of the event[25] directly from the game/Evil Dragon Mission 6
  • The other card released for this Trunks from the Evil Dragon Mission blatantly has the Xenoverse logo printed on it, further proving that this Trunks is from Xenoverse

So yeah, this point is pretty straightforward. Xenoverse and Heroes do not share a continuity, rather they exist in the same multiverse as alternate timelines, with Xenoverse Time Patroller Trunks outright making an appearance in the Evil Dragon Missions of DBH. Now, onto the next one.

“Higuchi: Mechikaboola was a character originally mentioned by name only in the PC game [DB Online]. We originally created the Xeno warriors with [Bandai Namco Entertainment]’s [DB Xenoverse] team, but since Mechikaboola didn’t appear in [Xenoverse], we made Mechikaboola, who initially existed solely by word-of-mouth, into an actual concept with only [SDBH]’s team.”

In this interview, Higuchi confirms that the SDBH team worked alongside XV's team, which implies that a lot of concepts and characters that appeared in Heroes were taken directly from Xenoverse, which is supported by the fact that he even admits – since Mechikabura didn't originate from XV, the SDBH team had to conceptualize him on their own as they couldn't just directly take him from Xenoverse.

Finally, the main producer for Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Masayuki Hirano, has officially confirmed[27] that both Xenoverse & Heroes are a part of the "Time Patroller Universe" and that they share a world, further cementing a shared multiverse and a combined game franchise that encompasses many continuities

With these two points, we can safely conclude that Heroes and Xenoverse share the same cosmology, thus putting the Multiverse at Infinite Low 1-C. The “countless space-times” statement from Crimson-Masked Saiyan is a supporting evidence.

Shared Multiverse

We already covered why Xenoverse and Heroes are actually connected together and exists within the same cosmology, a shared multiverse. But this multiverse isn't just stopped at having only Xenoverse and Heroes in it, it is actually far bigger, deeper and way more impressive with multiple other Dragon Ball Games in it, which will be explained in detail below

Dragon Ball Fusions' story is also connected to many Dragon Ball continuities, which includes Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Dragon Ball Heroes

Dragon Ball Fusions x Dragon Ball Xenoverse

There are multiple aspects in the story of Fusions which seem to imply that Fusions is connected to Dragon Ball Xenoverse, which are all explained here.

Also in Fusions, Towa uses the Bloody Sauce technique, which is a skill that belongs to Xenoverse, thus further confirming that Fusions is indeed connected to Xenoverse

Dragon Ball Fusions x Dragon Ball Heroes

Dragon Ball Heroes is also connected to Dragon Ball Fusions.

In Dragon Ball Fusions, Future Gohanks who originates from Heroes appears in the story mode of Fusions, specifically in Baba's place where the main cast and him have a talk about how strong he is and how he needs this power to defeat the androids etc. which then starts the mission ”Hero From Another World” (異世界からのヒーロー). This was even specifically advertized as Fusions and Heroes crossing over. Future Gohanks obviously appears in DBH too due to originating from it, and his Xeno counterpart is basically a mirror copy of Future Gohanks. With Heroes appearing in the actual story mode of Fusions, it's fairly obvious that Fusions and Heroes share a multiverse as well.

This shows that Dragon Ball Fusions is also Infinite Low 1-C due to being connected to DBXV, and in turn further solidifying Infinite Low 1-C DBH due to also being connected.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is also canon within Dragon Ball Heroes and Xenoverse multiverse as we can see the game's story, events & characters appear in both Heroes and Xenoverse respectively

Dragon Ball Xenoverse x Dragon Ball FighterZ

From the image/scan above, it is pretty clear that Dragon Ball FighterZ is connected to Dragon Ball Xenoverse, more specifically, Xenoverse 2. This trailer also features Dragon Ball FighterZ characters, events & story in Xenoverse continuity, such as Android 21 who is the central antagonist of FighterZ

Dragon Ball Heroes x Dragon Ball FighterZ

These are Japanese line of the scan's text:

  • 人造人間21号 研究者と超戦士 2つの 顔持つ人造人間!
  • 「ドラゴンボールファイターズ」で初登場した人器人間21号が、 「SDBH」に登場!! アビリティとCAAで敵の戦闘力を制 隠し、 アルティメットユニットまで発動する強力な1枚だぞ!!

English translation is:

  • A researcher and a super-soldier, a synthetic with two faces!
  • Android 21, who first appeared in Dragon Ball FighterZ, is now available in SDBH! This is a powerful card that can conceal the enemy's combat power with its abilities and CAA, and even activate Ultimate Units!

This confirms the connection between FighterZ and Heroes, which proves that FighterZ is also canon to Heroes multiverse. This animated trailer also shows Dragon Ball FighterZ story, events & characters in Super Dragon Ball Heroes such as Android 21

Dragon Ball: The Breakers shares the same timeline as Dragon Ball Xenoverse, as stated by the game's producer[28] himself:

Furthermore, there are many instances showcasing the connection between the two titles, mainly the mission regarding the Temporal Seam which is the main focus of Dragon Ball: The Breakers

This confirms that Dragon Ball: The Breakers truly exists in the same world as Xenoverse, as how the producer himself claimed in his messages

Dragon Ball Z Kakarot, too exists within the same multiverse as Dragon Ball Xenoverse.

As we can see in this video, the ending/epilogue of Xenoverse, where Towa - a Xenoverse character, picked up the remains of Mira - another Xenoverse character, flew away to collect more power to restore Mira after he had been destroyed

In Kakarot, however, we immediately meet them again. The scene follows up on Xenoverse's ending/epilogue, where Towa still holds the remains of Mira. Later, Mira is restored after collecting enough energy. Towa and Mira however retreat after losing. Still, this explains how Mira is restored off-screen and re-appears in the following sequel of Xenoverse - Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, along with Towa, after they flew off to somewhere in the ending/epilogue of Dragon Ball Xenoverse

In the above scan, Towa herself even stated that they will move to another timeline to collect energy. This confirms Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is, in fact, just another timeline within the multiverse of Dragon Ball Xenoverse, and further confirms that Kakarot and Xenoverse are indeed connected

Dragon Ball Xenoverse x Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden

V-Jump December 2015

V-Jump December 2015

The original Japanese line:

  • トワ
  • 暗黒魔界の科学者!! 紫色のエネルギー弾 で、相手を毒状態に。

English translation:

  • Towa
  • A scientist of the Dark Demon Realm. She poisons the opponent with purple energy balls

We also see the render of Towa and Mira from Dragon Ball Xenoverse game. The poisonous purple energy balls mentioned in this statement are referring to the Bloody Sauce technique which is an ability only Xenoverse Towa uses, meaning that XV Towa & Mira appeared in Extreme Butoden.

  • This confirms that Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden is connected to Dragon Ball Xenoverse

Dragon Ball Heroes x Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden

V-Jump February 2016

V-Jump February 2016

The original Japanese line:

  • 時の界王神
  • 「時の裁き」を発動。 空中から裁きの雷撃 を相手に落とすぜ!!!

English translation:

  • Supreme Kai of Time
  • Activate Temporal Judgement to drop a thunderbolt of judgement on the opponent from the air!!!

In the guidebook we can also see Chronoa's render from Dragon Ball Heroes. The Temporal Judgement space-time technique is an ability only DBH Chronoa has used, meaning this is DBH Chronoa appearing in Extreme Butoden

  • This also confirms that Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden is connected to Dragon Ball Heroes

Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is also connected to Dragon Ball Heroes

This confirms that Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is connected to Dragon Ball Heroes, with multiple Heroes' characters appearing in Dokkan.

We also have Dragon Ball Legends, with Shallot - Dragon Ball Legends' protagonist, appearing in Heroes[29]

The following translation of what Xeno Trunks said

  • Pic 1: "Here you can play special missions commemorating the 4th anniversary of Dragon Ball Legends"
  • Pic 2: "Win the battle royale with Shallot"
  • Pic 3: "In this age, Shallot will fight alongside you"
V-Jump June 2022
V-Jump June 2022

Moreover another guidebook has stated that Shallot, the main character from Dragon Ball Legends joined the fight in Dragon Ball Heroes

Original Japanese:

『ドラゴンボール レジェンズ」より主人公「シャロット」が超参戦!!!!

記憶を無くした太古のサイヤ人「シャロット」が、記憶を求めてバトルロイヤルに参戦!!

English Translation:

"Shallot, the main character of Dragon Ball Legends, enters the battle"

"The ancient Saiyan 'Shallot' who has lost his memories, joins the Battle Royale to recover his memories.

This confirms that Dragon Ball Legends exists within Dragon Ball Heroes multiverse, as Dragon Ball Legends' protagonist Shallot appears alongside Xeno Trunks in Heroes

The Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking franchise has also been confirmed to be canon to the game multiverse

Dragon Ball Z: Sparking! Zero has been confirmed by its producer, Jun Furutani, to be the sequel & next installment of the Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking series, proving that all the Sparking/BT games are connected to each other

It has been confirmed that the main character of Dragon Ball Legends, Shallot, exists within the multiverse of the Budokai Tenkaichi series. As established in the previous tabber, Dragon Ball Legends is a part of the Heroes multiverse, so Legends being canon to the Budokai Franchise ties it to Dragon Ball Heroes.

The Budokai Tenkaichi series also has more evidence for the existence of infinite timelines, specifically in Budokai Tenkaichi 3 where the Narrator confirmed that there are an infinite number of parallel worlds, thus further cementing the infinite sized multiverse of the game cosmology

The statement translates to the following:

  • 悟空が見たのは、もしもの世界のほんのひとかけらに過ぎない。 = "Goku had only seen a small fraction of the worlds."
  • もしもの世界は無限にある。 = "The number of worlds is infinite."
  • ドラゴンボールを愛する人がいる限り・・・ = "As long as people continue to love Dragon Ball..."

Conclusions

We have Dragon Ball Xenoverse and Dragon Ball Heroes within a shared multiverse called the Time Patroller Universe/Multiverse as separate timelines. Furthermore, we have other, lesser games connected to either Xenoverse and Heroes respectively, or both at the same time, as follows:

  • Dragon Ball Fusions is connected to both Xenoverse and Heroes
  • Dragon Ball FighterZ is connected to both Xenoverse and Heroes
  • Dragon Ball: The Breakers is stated by the game's producer to be in the same world as Xenoverse
  • Dragon Ball Z Kakarot is confirmed by Towa to be a timeline in the Xenoverse multiverse
  • Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden is connected to both Xenoverse and Heroes
  • Dragon Ball Z Dokkan Battle is connected to Heroes
  • Dragon Ball Legends is connected to Heroes
  • Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi/Sparking franchise is canon to Legends which is connected to Heroes
  • and many more other DB games are also connected to either Xenoverse and Heroes or both

Each Timeline in this multiverse is solid Low 1-C due to having both Canon and Toei material existing within this multiverse and the game multiverse itself having additional supporting evidence

Dragon Ball Heroes & Xenoverse's Multiverse or Time Patroller Universe/Multiverse, is an infinite Low 1-C multiverse as Xenoverse & Budokai Tenkaichi 3 have two infinite timelines statements, with Heroes also having a supporting countless timelines statement, and other games are connected to them which in turn connected both Xenoverse and Heroes together

Ziku World is a digital space-time, comprised purely by WiFi Network Data and Information, interacting and affecting this world equating to interacting and affecting pure data and information itself since the world itself is comprised purely from data and information. The Ziku World will have the following traits

Crack of Time is a Beyond baseline Infinite Low 1-C structure which holds the Xenoverse & Heroes Time Patroller Universe/Multiverse within it, and anyone who can affect/reach the Crack of Time or affect/reach the entire multiverse from it has Beyond baseline infinite Low 1-C range.

Notes

  • The name of the multiverse is called Time Patroller Universe, however the word "Universe" here isn't literal Universe, since Japanese have no text (kanji) for the term Multiverse, thus in the context the word "Universe" here referring to the shared multiverse
  • Dragon Ball Xenoverse, Dragon Ball Heroes and some other games don't share a continuity with each other. However, they coexist as separate timelines within the same multiverse. Thus, we do not scale certain feats from Xenoverse to Heroes and vice versa due to them being separate timelines, same with characters who appear in both games like Heroes Chronoa and Xenoverse Chronoa, Heroes Time Patroller Trunks and Xenoverse Time Patroller Trunks, etc......as they will have separated ratings based on their own game separately. However, there are some universal/multiversal elements, mechanics and powers that can be scaled between these games, as they still coexist within the same multiverse (See Notable Power & Ability, Physiology section in the game verse page)
  • For Dragon Ball Heroes/Super Dragon Ball Heroes, only the arcade game, the "Super Dragon Ball Heroes" manga and the promotional anime are considered to be usable for the relevant profiles. The arcade game is considered to be the “Primary Canon” and takes precedent over the others if direct contradictions need to be resolved (this does not mean that events that deviate or expand upon the story in other media are unusable, given that the manga is an extended canon which expands upon the original arcade game, and the anime exist solely for promotional purposes). Other continuities may be given their own keys if the character's appearance in that continuity is considered notable enough to justify its own section.
  • The DBZ Movies, Battle of Gods and Resurrection of F are canon to Xenoverse 1 and Xenoverse 2 as both games have adapted the two movies into their storylines
  • Toyotaro's DBS manga is also regarded as canon to the game multiverse, as characters like Goku and Vegeta are capable of performing abilities that they have only performed in the DBS manga such as Goku can use Hakai[30] and Vegeta can use Gamma Burst Flash. And on top of that, not only does DBZ Kakarot completely adapt the events of the DBS Manga regarding Future Trunks stopping the resurrection of Majin Buu, but additionally, DBS Manga Infinite Zamasu[31] has been confirmed to exist in the game multiverse. Thus, information from the DBS manga can be applied to the game multiverse
  • As the cosmologies of both the Toei Anime and Dragon Ball Super are canon to the games, the accepted 2-C Macrocosms of the Toei anime would also be applicable to the game cosmology, with a single Macrocosm being 2-C in size and a single timeline being comprised of 12 to 18 of these Macrocosms. The games themselves also support this notion as the Copy Universe which is a direct copy of Universe 7's Living Universe, is repeatedly stated to be a space-time, with the the Copy Universe and the Original Universe even having their own histories. Additionally, after the CC cast & friends were sent to the Afterlife from the Living World via a space-time rift, it was stated that they had "appeared across dimensions"[1][32][33] which confirms that they had crossed dimensions when traveling across these two realms. With the walls between dimensions being confirmed to be the very fabric of space-time, this would make the Living world and Afterlife different dimensions/space-times altogether
  • The “CC Timeline” is actually a version of the DBS Timeline in the game's multiverse. Characters from that timeline are DBS characters, but the nickname “CC” is made by fans to avoid confusion with the canon continuity and the Time Patrol (Xeno), and also because of Goku and Vegeta wearing Capsule Corp logo gi and armor on their first appearance in the game.
    • CC Timeline's characters are currently confirmed to have experienced the events of the DB Anime, the DBZ Anime and some of the Z Movies, the DBS Anime and DBS Movies (Broly Movie)
    • CC Timeline's characters exist only in Dragon Ball Heroes/Super Dragon Ball Heroes's Mainstream. They are not related to Xenoverse and while DBH/SDBH as a multiverse do have other Super timeline's characters in them, they are not the CC Timeline's characters.
  • CC Timeline's characters and some Super's characters that appear in the game multiverse are the game's adaptation of the Dragon Ball Super storyline, and by no means are they the actual Dragon Ball Super characters, thus they do not scale to Dragon Ball Super and vice versa. And the same can be said about the "CC Timeline" and other "Super timelines" in the game's multiverse, as they are an adaptation of the Dragon Ball Super storyline (both DBS Anime and Manga), not an actual 1:1 Super timeline
  • It should be noted that despite Dragon Ball Heroes's Missions (Original, Galaxy, Jaakuryu, God Mission) containing multiple different stories, they are all canon to DBH as a whole. And despite DBH/SDBH's original narrative starting at Dragon Ball Heroes God Missions and then continuing on to Super Dragon Ball Heroes, many elements, and characters (Like Broly) and lore from DBH's Missions are canon to God Mission and Super Dragon Ball Heroes forward.
