Summary

A kid named Son Goku grows up, trains to be a strong fighter, and eventually becomes the protector of the Earth along with his descendants: Gohan and Goten. Along the way, he makes powerful allies and even befriends former enemies such as Piccolo and Vegeta. He and the Z-Warriors fight evil, powerful beings such as Frieza, Cell, Majin Buu, and others in order to protect the Earth and even the universe at large.

Power of the Verse

Dragon Ball is widely known to be one of the most powerful mainstream anime verses there are. In Dragon Ball, there are Building level, Large Building level to finally Moon level feats. By Z, the series made moon-busting low-level as it introduces Large Planet level characters in the Saiyan Saga, with following arcs hitting Dwarf Star level and Small Star level by the Frieza Saga, and later surpassing Star level and reaching Solar System level with the Android, Cell and Buu Sagas.

In Super, almost from the very beginning, characters reach Low Multiverse level (3 universes) with feats like nearly destroying the macrocosm, which consists of three space-time continuums. More characters at this level are introduced, as well as forms that significantly increase that level of strength. Finally, in the Universe Survival Saga, a higher amount of universes was reached (6 universes), with Gods of Destruction being able to destroy two macrocosms while not at their fullest and other characters scaling above the feat.

Top-Tier characters like Super Shenron have reached even higher with feats such as restoring multiple macrocosms, and finally we have the God-Tiers like Zeno being placed at Low Complex Multiverse level for being able to destroy an entire timeline which is accepted to be a 5-D structure with a second temporal dimension.

The verse is also known for being extremely fast. In terms of speed, their speed ranges from Superhuman to Relativistic in Dragon Ball. Z characters have Relativistic+ to at least Massively FTL+ speeds. In Super, characters reach higher levels of Massively FTL+ speeds from the very beginning, ranging from sextillions to nonillions of times faster than light. Teleportation techniques like Kai-Kai and Shunkan-Idou are different to conventional speed. Despite the relative lack of notable hax skills, Dragon Ball is very impressive in its own right due to the strength and speed of its characters and is considered a high-tier manga verse.

Attack Potency and Durability Information

Part I: Human level to at least Large Building level between the Pilaf Saga and 21st Budokai Saga, reaching Moon level by the 22nd Budokai to the 23rd Budokai.

Part II: They start out as being Large Planet level during the Saiyan saga, Dwarf Star level to Small Star level in the Frieza Saga, reaching even Solar System level during the Cell Saga, and far higher into Solar System level during the Buu Saga.

Part III: Low Multiverse level (3 universes) with the introduction of the Super Saiyan God forms and several characters from other universes, with figures such as Beerus also exhibiting this level of strength. Even higher into Low Multiverse level (6 universes) with the introduction of Jiren, Kefla, and Goku's Ultra Instinct form in the Tournament of Power arc, revealing the Gods of Destruction and their Angel attendants, such as Whis, as well as Toppo, a God of Destruction Candidate, being equal to the GoDs, to also sit at this level. Vegeta also obtained a form later into the tournament, qualifying for the same Low Multiverse level rating as his peers. Super Shenron performed Low Multiverse level (54 universes) restoration feat. And finally Zen'ō, the Omni-King, currently stand at the top of the series' hierarchy with Low Complex Multiverse level via erased the entire timeline which is accepted to be 5-D hypertimeline.

Speed Information

Part I: The characters at the start are generally Superhuman but reach Supersonic+ to Hypersonic speeds a bit later on, and even Relativistic by surpassing Roshi's Kamehameha speed feat during the 21st Budokai.

Part II: Relativistic+ to FTL in early Z, FTL+ to Massively FTL and Massively FTL+ in the Frieza Saga, and even higher ratings in the Cell Saga and Buu Saga.

Part III: Super introduces solid Massively FTL+ ratings to the order in the hundreds of quadrillions of times FTL, due to Beerus's speed feat in Battle of Gods, to likely in the tens of sextillions of times FTL (Though for the Manga continuity it's tens of thousands to hundreds of trillions of times FTL). Infinite Zamasu would also eventually become Omnipresent through merging with the universe and its space-time.

Lifting Strength Information

Part I: They present decent scaling regarding how much they can lift, ranging from Class 25 and up to Class K.

Part II: Characters around the Z era, for the most part, lack lifting strength feats and scaling.

Part III: Most of the characters only really reach as far as Class M, although higher tier characters like Vados have shown Class Y feats by moving planet-sized objects, with Super Shenron being Multi-Galactic via his size alone.

Note: The consensus is that the Kaio-ken multipliers are fully applicable to speed. Additionally, the official speed multipliers of 50x, 100x, and 400x for Super Saiyan, Super Saiyan 2, and Super Saiyan 3 forms, respectively, are accepted on this site for scaling purposes. According to the Daizenshuu and the Dragon Ball Super Exciting Guide, Super Saiyan is officially a 50x multiplier. Similarly, Super Saiyan 2 and Super Saiyan 3 are 100x and 400x, respectively, in the Super Exciting Guide, and more recently, in Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot. Oozaru is officially a 10x multiplier in the manga and the Dragon Ball Super Exciting Guide as well. However, more than that, SSJ is consistent with the showings in the manga as a 50x speed multiplier specifically. Goku using Kaio-ken x10 was being outpaced by 50% Frieza, and even Kaio-ken x20 while using a Kamehameha was at best equal to 50% Frieza's speed, yet using SSJ allowed Goku to speed blitz 50% Frieza, and even have an edge in speed over 100% Frieza. Therefore, it is highly consistent with the 50x multiplier assigned to it. This applies to Oozaru as well, which is consistent with its showings as a 10x multiplier, with Goku commenting that Vegeta was extremely fast and even with Kaio-ken x5 he wouldn't stand a chance.

We use the Kaio-ken multipliers because they are explicitly stated to multiply speed and power by the number indicated in the technique. This further extends to the multipliers for the SSJ forms and the 10x Oozaru multiplier for the reasons listed above. We continue to use Kaio-ken multipliers in DBS as well as the SSJ and Oozaru multiplier.

Note: It has been stated numerous times across various sources in the series that a larger ki means greater statistics – statistics such as strength^[1] and overall power,^[2] speed,^[3] aerial capabilities,^[4] destructive capacity,^[4] and defense.^[4]

There have also been numerous showings of fighters in the series, having demonstrated significantly higher combat speeds and reactions than their own flight speeds.
Dragon Ball Z's Massively FTL+ ratings were approved in this thread.

Note: The full DB cosmology contains countless timelines. Trunks cites that each action in a timeline creates a new timeline. He states that there's a timeline where Goku is alive and a timeline where he is dead, listing the endless possibilities. (Approved in this thread.) The DBZ Anime is also accepted as a canon parallel timeline, as it's directly stated the anime and manga are their own timelines, cementing its canonicity as its own dimension, as opposed to merely being an adaptation that depicts the manga's timeline. GT is also accepted as one of those endless possibilities/alternate timelines with Toriyama stating it's a grand side-story and author avatars of Dr. Slump being aware of GT's existence drawing it in Dr. Slump which is canon to DB/DBZ/DBS also proving that GT is an Alternate Timeline. The DBZ movies are also considered one of those endless timelines with statements such as them being side stories, from a different dimension from the main timeline, and even different parallel worlds which further proves that they're alternate timelines.

Note: Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot is recognized as supplementary material to the original canon, as discussed in this thread. It's important to note that the gameplay and cutscenes of the game are not considered canonical to the original work due to contradictions and material from the TV anime that may not be faithful to the original manga. Therefore, only supplementary materials such as the game's encyclopedia would be considered valid for use. DLCs are not to be considered canon unless stated otherwise.

The profiles that cover the Z era strictly use the original manga for scaling the characters. Please don't use feats or statements from Dragon Ball Kai to upgrade them, as Kai contains contradictions to the source material. Feats from the Dragon Ball Super anime are allowed for the relevant keys. Feats from the original Dragon Ball Z anime and movies should be applied to the Dragon Ball (Toei) profiles. The current scaling of the characters is not perfect. Still, it is the best solution to the series' numerous inconsistencies.
