~ Deathmaster Snikch, Chief Assassin of Clan Eshin[1] |
Summary
Snikch is the Deathmaster, Chief Assassin and prime agent of Sneek, a Lord of Decay and the ruling Nightlord of the Skaven's Clan Eshin. His infamy is only exceeded by the mystery which surrounds his whereabouts at any particular time. Sneek ensures that this is the case -- as long as no one knows the location of his chief assassin no one can feel safe. Deathmaster Snikch has appeared all over the Old World at one time or another, seldom being seen but always leaving his distinctive symbol traced in blood beside the decapitated heads of his victims.[2]
No one truly knows what horrors the Deathmaster has perpetrated during his long and mysterious existence. Of how many ships have been sunk or foundered with mysterious leaks or severed rigging, of how many towns have been consumed by fire or pestilence released from the sewers below or even how many people the Deathmaster has killed in his lifetime. It is only on the battlefield that the Deathmaster's presence can at least be known to dwell, stalking his victims, concealed beneath the magical Cloak of Shadows, its ensorcelled power strong enough to make a mockery of the most intricate defences. Where the stealthy tread of Deathmaster Snikch falls, no prince or warlord is safe from his blades.[3]

Range: Standard Melee Range physically, Extended Melee Range with Weeping Blades, Tens of Meters with throwing weapons
- Whirl of Weeping Blades: Snikch carries three triplet Weeping Blades with him at all times.[5] Weeping Blades are weapons wielded by the infamous Skaven assassins of Clan Eshin. During their manufacture a small amount of Warpstone is incorporated into their structure along with certain magical spells known only to the sorcerers of the ratmen-assassins.[17][18] A Weeping Blade constantly sweats a deadly corrosive venom so that any wound, no matter how superficial, will always prove fatal. The venom melts through armour to deliver the poisoned point.[17][18]
- Warpstone Stars: Weeping Blade Throwing Stars Deathmaster Snikch keeps handy[25]
- Cloak of Shadows: Woven from stolen Human hair and spider silk, the Cloak of Shadows conceals and silences the wearer, making Snikch near-invisible when in darkness.[3]
- Smoke Bombs: Deathmaster Snikch carries a healthy amount of smokebombs with him onto battle, for if he was going to directly fight anyone for any reason, he would always do so under the dark of night or in a massive cloud of smoke. usually both.[5]
- Bands of Power: The Bands of Power are two metal vambraces set with warpstone shards. Magical power coils lazilu around the bands until it is summoned forth by an ancient invocation, enabling the Deathmaster to fight with incredible strength. The Bands contain a spell which can be used three times before it's power is exhausted. When cast, the Deathmaster doubles his strength for several minutes until the winds of magic pick up again.
Genius (Despite his status as a Skaven, Snikch is a listener, taking in information, and acting on it:[5] whether it be through Sabatoge or assassination, Snikch is a master planner who can focus on multiple things at once.[3] directly said to have a guile that mortals cannot hope to match[5])
Supergenius (Superior to all Eshin Assassins.[2] Directly comparable in stealth to Oxyotl,[5] who was capable of hiding within the Realm of Chaos for millenia.[5] Daemons, such as Nigh-Omniscient Lords of Change, within the Realm of Chaos view anything living as a massive beacon and flock to them by countless numbers, such as when Archaon and Gotrek Gurnisson entered the Realm of Chaos on separate occasions. A lesser Eshin Assassin was capable of Catching glimpses of Oxyotl. Snuck in and out of a Celestial Wizard Hold, which have numerous magical defenses, killing the Celestial wizard inside, and leaving without even unlocking the door.[2] Killed Belegar Ironhammer's brother in a heavily fortified Dwarf Hold, getting in and out completely unseen and unnoticed.[3]) Bombed the Imperial Navy in Reiksport, with Altdorf itself being by far the most heavily defended human city on the planet.[3] caused a massive fire within Lothern, the capital of the extremely magically inclined High Elves, who all possess Witchsight of varying degrees, which lets them see the thoughts, intentions, and emotions of those around them, and got in and out unnoticed.[3] Assassinated Thorgrim Grudgebearer.[20]
Extraordinary Genius (Superior to all Eshin Assassins.[2] It cannot be understated how good of an assassin the Deathmaster is, casually killing a Skaven Warlord and his 100 Stormvermin bodyguards.[2] Casually slaughtered a Celestial Wizard capable of casually one-shotting him.[2] Killed Belegar Ironhammer's brother in a heavily fortified Dwarf Hold, whom in his own right was a Dwarf Lord capable of one-shotting Snikch.[3] All of this proves Snikch to be second to only maybe one in terms of assassination and skill.)
Standard Tactics: One thing to always know about Snikch: He NEVER fights fair.[3] [2][25][20] Preferring to slip into stealth immediately, even within sight of the opponent, Snikch always strikes from stealth if possible, striking with his Weeping blades to either decapitate[3] or impale the opponent.[20] If somehow forced into a head-on battle, Snikch is a beyond slippery fighter who has no qualms leaping, rushing, or stabbing and slashing opponents,[14] and prefers to attack his opponents in head-on combat through a thick wall of smoke.[5]
