Summary
Darwin's Game is a monthly action/survival manga series written by FLIPFLOPs, a duo of authors. It centers around a high school boy named Kaname Sudo who is invited to try out a new mysterious mobile app game called Darwin's Game, but later realizes that he's in for more than he's bargained for when he finds out that there's no way to quit the game. Other players, attracted by the lure of gain and the thrill of the fight, are ready to do anything to find him, after he proves himself to be very capable.
Each player receives a random superpower called Sigil, among 4 classes: animal, superhuman, royal and mythological. A Sigil is an improvement, an evolution of humans obtained by each player the moment they start playing. The player instinctively knows how to use his Sigil, which becomes for him as an innate capacity. The powers obtained range from enhanced senses, to element manipulation, to psychic powers (telekinesis, teleportation, mind control), to summoning.
Power of the Verse
The characters of Darwin's Game range from Human to Wall level, with the most destructive powers barely reaching Small Building level at full potential. Most characters have powers on the utility side, and even offensive ones are rarely destructive. Most of the verse's arsenal is in the forms of weapons, especially guns, and Sigils usually only have specific uses, though abilities such as Intangibility, Teleportation, Psychometry, Illusion Creation, Forcefield Creation and Durability Negation are present, among others.
