~ Matt Murdock reflecting on Fisk's defeat |
Summary
Matt Murdock is a blind lawyer who lives in New York City's Hell's Kitchen neighborhood, where he runs a firm with his best friend Franklin "Foggy" Nelson. As a child, Matt was blinded by a toxic waste spill. The accident enhanced Matt's other senses and gave him sonar to "see" via sonic vibrations. Matt's father, boxer Jack "The Devil", was killed after refusing to turn in a fixed fight for the mobster who had employed him earlier. After his father's death, Matt promised to stop all crime that controlled Hell's Kitchen as the vigilante crime-fighter Daredevil. His crime-fighting journey lead to him taking on the infamous assassin known as Bullseye, as well as taking on the man who killed Jack Murdock, the Kingpin. Around this time, Matt would also fall in love with Elektra Natchios, but would tragically have her taken from him as well.
Following the defeat of Kingpin, Daredevil continued to protect the citizens of New York from the many criminals evading legal justice. Although he found evidence one night that Elektra had returned to the land of the living, he would never get the chance to confirm this fact for himself.

Furthermore, he posed a notable challenge to Bullseye while suffering from a stab wound.[2] Could match and impress Elektra in a sparring match,[2] the latter being an incredibly skilled wielder of weapons and martial artist that was taught by several teachers starting at the age of 5[1][3] and considered a "Treasure", a term The Hand uses to define martial arts prodigies.[4] Formed his own hybrid fighting style as a vigilante, while having picked up lots of the boxing moves simply by having observed his father in training over the years and practicing for himself.[1] Easily defeated a group of armed criminals by himself.[2] Matt is a capable lawyer, having successfully kept innocent clients out of jail[2])
