Summary
Dai Kaioshin, also known as Grand Supreme Kai, is a minor character in Dragon Ball, whose appearance plays a significant amount within the story. He is the highest of the Kaioshin for the universe. As such, he rules over all of the Kais and Supreme Kais. Unlike most cosmic rulers in Dragon Ball, Dai Kaioshin is extremely kind and peace-loving.
When Majin Buu came over to the Supreme Kais' planet, Dai bravely decided to sacrifice his life in an attempt to protect the universe. The remnants of his personality after Buu absorbed him allowed for Buu to somewhat redeem himself, as the caring and compassionate parts of Dai overtook Buu's natural lust for death and destruction.
