One of the things that’s very important for me in all of these movies and TV series is that the director’s vision and the vision of the writers and all of the creators is unique, and something special.

Summary

The DC Universe, more commonly referred to as the DCU, is a multimedia franchise consisting of a shared continuity across film, television, video games, animation and comics, created by DC Studios and based on the characters and publications of DC Comics. The DCU is a soft reboot and successor franchise to the DC Extended Universe, with a certain few continuity elements, content and actors from the DCEU carrying over into the DCU.

Canon

Power of the Verse

Characters who are considered peak human in this verse tend to be Small Building level ranging from feats such as Peacemaker taking a punch from White Dragon, as well as being able to fight those who can harm him. Low level metahumans also scale to different values Small Building level, originating from how Raptors were able to harm an immensely weakened Superman, and Metamorpho smashing a tank with a single attack. Doctor Phosphorus reaches Large Building level for melting a tank in half. Currently, Superman is considered most powerful metahuman, scaling at City Block level+, and may possibly be Multi-City Block level when considering how he would be considered more powerful than the likes of Blue Beetle, a character originating from this verse's Light Canon. Metamorpho's creation abilities allowed him to form a star, a feat that reaches Large Country level. Meanwhile, Lex Luthor's scientific prowess allows him to reach Universe level through preparation time, as he can create pocket dimensions.

Regarding speed, characters like Doctor Phosphorus can react to bullets, giving him Supersonic combat speeds and reactions. Stronger metahumans reach Massively Hypersonic, coming from the flight speeds that Superman and the Engineer can reach. In terms of lifting strength, Superman can lift an entire skyscraper, placing him at Class G.

Given the diverse nature of the DCU, abilities greatly vary between characters. Some of these abilities include Flight, Enhanced Senses, Regeneration, Energy Manipulation, Information Analysis, Illusion Creation, Retrocognition, Matter Manipulation, Body Control, Nanotechnology, Gravity Manipulation, and Pocket Reality Manipulation.

Explanations

DCU Canon and DCEU Cross-Scaling

The DC Universe is the successor to the DC Extended Universe, with the events of The Flash resetting the universe[1] and creating a new continuity. However, despite it being a new universe and continuity, some events in the DCEU have carried over to the DCU, causing some confusion as to what is or isn’t canon in this new continuity.

DCU canon officially began with Creature Commandos,[2] and no previous projects are considered to be fully canon.[3] However, some actors will reprise their roles from previous projects, and more importantly, some plot threads from their DCEU characters will remain consistent within the DCU.[2] This makes a few DCEU projects - namely, The Suicide Squad, Peacemaker: Season 1, and Blue Beetle - what James Gunn has referred to as “light canon”.[4] The events of these projects are mostly consistent with the lore and canon of the DCU[5] and can generally be assumed to have occurred in the DCU, but not necessarily in the exact same way as they did in the DCEU. To put it more specifically, if a DCU project references an event from a DCEU project, that event becomes fully canon.[4] For example, Rick Flag’s death in The Suicide Squad was referenced in Creature Commandos,[6] which makes that event canon in the DCU.[5]

For the purposes of this wiki, feats from these “light canon” projects can be used to scale DCU characters, but if the feats (not just the movie/series, the specific feats) haven’t been referenced in the DCU, they must be indexed with a “possibly” rating. Despite their light canon status, James Gunn has also referred to these projects as “unreliable memories[7] or “an imperfect memory[5] of what happened in the DCU, making it unreliable to scale to those feats without a “possibly” rating. If those feats do get referenced in a DCU project, they become fully canon and can be scaled to normally.

Peacemaker is a notable exception to this rule, as it has been specifically stated that Season 1 is effectively canon and “almost entirely consistent” to the DCU, with the exception of the Justice League cameo at the end of the season.[7][5] As such, feats from Peacemaker can be treated as main canon and scaled to normally, but feats from The Suicide Squad and Blue Beetle must use a “possibly” rating unless they get referenced within the DCU.
