Summary

DARK (ダーク, Dāku) is a terrorist organization lead by Professor Gill in his goal for world domination. Its army is mainly composed of robots created various scientists and henchmen, with the original robots being creations of Dr. Komyoji himself.

The organization had such a reputation of being evil that it was called "the death merchant" (死の商人, Shi no shōnin) by some, due to selling robots of destructive capabilities to countries that were currently at war with other countries. Their reasoning is that if they sell one country a powerful robot, the opposing country will have no choice but to buy one as well, thus allowing DARK to make loads of money. By then using the money they saved up, DARK will be able to create a powerful android (later revealed to be Giant Devil) that will act as the ultimate weapon, allowing them to control the world. In Professor Gill's strive for world domination, he sought to create an army of robots and superweapons to oppose the world's governments and armies, capturing scientists to do so. DARK's operations range from taking control of lands and producing secret projects. Most who attempted to find out about DARK were either killed or captured.

Power Source: DARK usually uses the same sources of energy that of humans, either by generating them, or stealing them. Otherwise, DARK has the potential of creating their own types of energy and power source for their Destructoids or weaponry, such as nuclear weapons powerful enough to wipe out the huge cities of Japan, such as Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya, Yokohama, and Sapporo, and even going as far as healing machines that were reduced to pieces.

Industrial Capacity: DARK always creates a new Destructoid after a previous one is defeated and destroyed, and usually resurrects them as well. The power of the Destructoids and their abilities varies between individual, but they can go from generating over 5 thousand degrees in heat, manipulating the mind of over 70 thousand humans at once, amplifying any sound in 3 thousand times, regenerating from being reduced to pieces, creating poisons and toxin enough to completely vaporize humans, and many more.

Military Prowess:

  • Android Men (アンドロイドマン, Andoroidoman) are Professor Gill's loyal mass-produced android henchmen for combat of DARK. Although vastly inferior to Destructoids they are capable of fighting and are often equipped with a naginata.
  • The Destructoids, also called Dark Robots (ダークロボット Dākurobotto) are the commanders of DARK. They're designed after animals and have a color in their name.

  • Professor Gill (プロフェッサー・ギル, Purofessā Giru) is the leader of the terrorist organizations DARK and SHADOW, Gill is the primary antagonist of the Kikaider series. A crazed person that wanted to take over the world, Gill is without a doubt evil in nature. Like other evil leaders, Gill is arrogant, selfish and merciless in personality, to the point of having little to no sympathy towards others, including those that loyally served under him. Gill hates Kikaider, wanting him destroyed as a threat to his goals. Despite his hatred for the hero, he often tells Jiro when playing his flute, that since Jiro was born from Dark, he should return to their side.
  • Hakaider (ハカイダー, Hakaidā), is DARK's trump card, created by a mind-controlled Dr. Komyoji to be Jiro/Kikaider's greatest adversary. Implanted with his creator's brain, Saburo is a technorganic, requiring regular blood transfusions from Dr. Komyoji's body to operate at peak efficiency. Created solely to destroy Jiro, Saburo possesses a strong desire to carry out his given task, bordering onto obsession. Thus, he has no qualms endangering others if to carry out his goals, regardless of their standing. However, unlike DARK's Destructoids, Saburo refuses to rely on cowardly tactics in battle, being disgusted by such acts. Furthermore, he is largely harmless to innocent bystanders, provided that they are not in the same vicinity as Jiro.
