~ Crash Bandicoot |
Summary
Crash Bandicoot is the titular protagonist of the Crash Bandicoot franchise. He is a genetically enhanced bandicoot created by the evil scientist Dr. Neo Cortex and was originally made to be part of Cortex's army of mutants, but after the Cortex Vortex failed to mind-control him, Crash fled from his castle. Upon realizing Tawna was held captive, he traveled across islands to save Tawna and halt Cortex's plan, defeating his other experiments and allies on the way. Afterwards, Crash lives on Wumpa Island with his sister, Coco, a masked spirit and father figure, Aku Aku, and a reformed ally, Crunch, usually rising up to the task whenever a crisis is averted by Cortex or other threats. However in the 100% ending of Warped, Crash is left at peace until Cortex and N. Tropy return from the past in stealing the quantum masks of which Crash alongside with an alternate Tawna also averts.

Attack Potency: Island level+, possibly Large Island level (Defeated Crunch powered-up by The Elemental Masks, who were capable of causing an ice age, though it is not known if it was one mask individually or all four of them. Defeated Uka Uka, who is superior to the Elementals), higher with the Super Slam ability, the Fruit Bazooka, the Mech Suit and Mecha Bandicoot (All these abilities and weapons are stronger than his normal attacks) | At least Wall level (Can destroy boulders thrown by Koala Kong. Can one-shot lions and large alligators), higher with the Super Slam ability, the Fruit Bazooka, and Akano's Dark Matter Spin (Allows Crash to break locked crates, which he can't do with a normal spin)
Speed: Supersonic+, higher with Crash Dash ability. Massively Hypersonic+ (Capable of dodging lightning attacks of Crunch empowered by Lo-Lo, voodoo enemies, Ee-Lectric, etc. Piloted a spaceship that keeps up with Oxide's ship which flew at these speeds) or higher reactions (Can dodge N. Gin's mech lasers) | Supersonic (Can dodge Pinstripe's gunfire), higher with Crash Dash ability
Lifting Strength: Superhuman (Able to lift and throw a person like Cortex with minimal effort. Able to lift and throw concrete crates. Lifted two large blocks of stone over his head. Threw Coco's butter-recycling device toward a flying airship several kilometers into the air with enough force to knock the chain of Aku Aku's cage loose) | Unknown
Striking Strength: Island level+, possibly Large Island level (Can harm Titans and other beings such as Tiny and Dingodile with his blows), higher with the Super Slam ability | At least Wall level (Can harm the likes of Tiny and Dingodile with his blows. Can hit an opponent into a metal fan hard enough to break it), higher with the Super Slam ability and Akano's Dark Matter Spin
Durability: Island level+, possibly Large Island level (Can take hits from an Elemental-empowered Crunch. Was completely fine after being inside of a space station as it fell to Earth and crashed into a cliff, with even Aku Aku being surprised), higher with Aku Aku's invincibility | At least Wall level (Fell from a top-floor window of Cortex Castle and was fine afterwards. Fell off a cliff into a shallow pool of mud and got right back up), higher with Aku Aku's invincibility
Stamina: Superhuman (Despite being lazy, Crash can spend large amounts of time fighting enemies and going through long and arduous platforming sequences with little to no rest. Traveled from N. Sanity Island all the way to Cortex Island within the span of a few days while showing minimal signs of fatigue) | Superhuman
Range: Standard Melee Range, Tens of Meters with the Wumpa Gun, Hundreds of Meters with the Fruit Bazooka
Standard Equipment: Fruit Bazooka, Aku Aku, jet board, Portal Weapon, motorcycle, Wumpa Gun, scuba gear
- Optional Equipment: Jet Pack, Copter Pack, Mecha Bandicoot, jeep, submarine, submergible, space motorcycle, wakeboard, glider, Firefly (flying vehicle), the Makeanotherinator, the Quantum Masks, crates, his cars (Trikee, Retro Prime, Crikey, Yellow Horde), various power-ups and weapons
Intelligence: Below Average, possibly Average normally, Above Average, likely Gifted in Physical Activity, Tactical Thinking, and Technology
Crash is usually portrayed as dimwitted, gullible, and lazy, having blindly followed Cortex's orders on two occasions, despite the latter's many past attempts to destroy him, and failed to see through Cortex's incredibly obvious disguise in Twinsanity. He also has an extremely limited vocabulary, rarely uttering more than simple keywords and exclamations ("Whoa!", "Pancakes", "Yee-ha!", etc.), though this could likely be due to no one teaching him how to speak rather than lacking the mental capacity to do so. That said, Crash isn't a complete idiot - he at least seems to be emotionally intelligent, making him very flexible and not easily frustrated, and games such as Nitro Kart and It's About Time show Crash being empathetic enough to pick up on the emotions and feelings of those around him. Also, while the canonicity of such is questionable at best, certain depictions, such as the 100% ending of Crash 4 imply that Crash actually can talk, but simply prefers not to.
Where Crash truly shines, however, is in terms of physical activity, tactical thinking, and technology. He's consistently shown to be a skilled fighter who can adapt to many different combat situations, including hand-to-hand, weaponry, and vehicular combat. He has repeatedly defeated the forces of Dr. Neo Cortex and Uka Uka and ruined their plans for world domination on a consistent basis. He's also a surprisingly tactical fighter who can quickly identify and exploit the weaknesses of foes much larger, stronger, and/or more all-around powerful than he is, such as Tiny Tiger and Crunch, and has even outwitted and bested scientific masterminds such as Dr. Cortex, N. Gin, and N. Tropy on multiple occasions. He's gained a lot of experience on his adventures, even besting Crunch multiple times while the latter was empowered by the Elemental Masks - what makes this especially notable is that Crunch was created specifically to be a superior version of Crash, and yet Crash has consistently defeated him whenever they fought. He's even defeated Coco, his genius sister who is comparable to him in combat ability, on both occasions where she was brainwashed and turned against him. Additionally, though not a technological genius, Crash is regularly shown to be highly skilled at piloting all kinds of different vehicles (such as karts, planes, motorcycles, jeeps, mech-suits, etc.), to the point where he was once able to control the Mecha Bandicoot with no prior knowledge of how it works, even using it to defeat two beings of high intelligence. He also once built a racing car with his mechanic skills and a rocket ship in the manga, though the latter especially can be considered a gag feat.
Weaknesses: Aside from the aforementioned gullibility and fluctuating intelligence, Crash does not know how to swim. He is also quite lazy outside of adventures, spending most of his free time sleeping. Additionally, he can be quite clumsy at times and often fluctuates heavily in terms of bravery, having panicked and/or cowered before enemies such as Tiny outside of combat multiple times despite otherwise being incredibly brave on adventures and in combat.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Spin Attack: Crash's signature move. He rapidly spins like a top, allowing him to attack enemies all around him, break crates, operate machinery, and deflect projectiles.
- Death Tornado Spin: An upgraded version of the Spin Attack. With this, Crash can spin for much faster and longer, and can even glide across the air.
- Triple Spin: By spinning three times in a row in a rhythm, Crash can spin and move faster than usual for a brief period.
- Super Spin: A variant only seen in Mind Over Mutant. With this move, Crash briefly doubles in size while spinning, allowing him to one-shot certain enemies.
- Slide Spin: A variant of the move where Crash uses his Spin Attack in the middle of a slide, allowing him to carry his momentum.
- Dark Matter Spin: Only usable with Akano. Using Akano's power, Coco uses a spin empowered by dark matter, allowing her to break locked crates, bounce back magic projectiles, and glide across very long distances.
- Body Slam: While over his intended target, Crash dives straight downward in a belly-flop and slams down on anything beneath him, being able to hurt anyone else nearby.
- Super Slam: An upgraded version of the Body Slam. This sends out a shockwave that increases the radius of Crash's normal Body Slam and allows him to break open locked crates.
- Slide Attack: Crash slides across the ground, kicking enemies out of his way. This move can also be used to move faster and jump higher.
- Super Slide: An upgraded version of the Slide Attack where he slides faster and covers a longer distance than his normal slide.
- Double Jump: Allows Crash to jump once again while in the air. This later appears as a normal power.
- Crash Dash: Allows Crash to sprint significantly faster at long distances than he usually does.
- Sneak Shoes: Allows Crash to sneak onto a row of unstable Nitro crates without detonating them.
- Invisibility: Allows Crash to be protected/untouchable by laser rays and move around undetected.
- Rocket Jump: Allows Crash to jump vertically high enough to reach high areas, bursting through any crates he comes in contact.
- Fruit Bazooka: Crash summons a bazooka that fires Wumpa Fruit as ammunition. This weapon proves to be powerful enough to defeat enemies, destroy machines, and even hurt Crunch.
- Jetpack: Crash can fly in the air with a jetpack on his back. He can use his spin attack while doing so.
- Magic Carpet: After breaking the Magic Carpet crate, Crash rides on a magic flying carpet and is capable of shooting energy projectiles.
- Portal Weapon: Crash tosses a concoction created by Coco at the enemy, opening up a portal that sucks them into it and sends them back to Crash's home dimension.
- Air Dash: Crash performs a short, but quick run straight forward in midair, dealing damage to enemies in his way. This is slightly weaker than the Slide, but can hit foes in midair.
Note: This a composite profile for the mainstream versions of Crash Bandicoot, and the reason for this is because of The Wrath of Cortex and It's About Time having different continuations to the continuity after Warped, as proven here.
