Summary
Construction is the ability to build large structures or objects. Characters with this ability may be capable of building entire fortresses in brief amounts of time, or building walls or turrets to help defend themselves. This ability is most common in sandbox games such as Minecraft.
Construction can be used in a variety of different ways, with the most common usage being to build large bases or buildings for protection purposes. Another possible use of construction is to build various technological contraptions that could range from vehicles to turrets or towers. This can be used to set traps or build defenses around the user.
It is also worth noting that characters with this ability are also very likely to have some form of preparation, as, given sufficient time, they would be capable of building larger and stronger structures than they would otherwise.
It is also common for characters with high intelligence and speed to be capable of building constructs of varying degrees in brief amounts of time. Due to this it must be ensured that construction is truly an individual ability and not simply a result of a combination of speed and intelligence.
This power should only be listed when it is clear that the character can do it in a brief amount of time or in the middle of a battle. If the character needs considerable time to build their structures, Preparation should be listed. Construction should under no circumstances be given to a character who does not show the supernatural ability to build structures in a very brief timespan.
Construction is generally reserved for characters who are capable of building objects quicker than their overall speed would suggest. Characters who can apply this ability quickly (relative to their own reactions), would qualify for this ability. Simply having high speed alone is not enough to qualify for Construction.
This ability should not be given in the place of other powers. Characters who use Earth Manipulation to create a pillar of rock would not qualify for Construction, and characters who use Ice Manipulation to create a wall of ice also would not qualify, etcetera. Only characters with an separate ability to Construct objects without the use of another power should be given this ability.
Possible Uses
- Basic Construction: This form of construction allows characters to build basic structures such as walls, buildings, and more.
- Technological Construction: This form of construction is used to build more technologically advanced structures, such as turrets, weapon towers, vehicles, and potentially robots.
Limitations
Characters with this ability almost always need sufficient materials to build these structures, and these structures can be destroyed quickly depending on what materials are used. Characters who are not limited by this factor typically have some form of Creation or Matter Manipulation.
