The Conqueror was an experimental Imperial-class star destroyer outfitted with a Death Star like superlaser, albeit much smaller and far less powerful. The bow of the ship was cut out in such a manner that it was left with two several hundred metre long “prongs”, with the superlaser installed between them and halfway down the length of the vessel. The Conqueror was the first in a planned line of superlaser equipped star destroyers. However, various problems with the superlaser and the destruction of the Conqueror herself put on hold further development of the Conqueror-class of star destroyers.
Powers and Stats
Tier: High 6-A
Name: Conqueror-class Star Destroyer
Origin: Star Wars
Classification: Starship, Cruiser, Superweapon
Users: Imperial Navy
Length: 1,600 metres
Material: Most likely neutronium impregnated durasteel plating on the hull, likely Quadanium steel plating on the main superlaser array.
Needed prerequisite for use: Trained crew of 36,000+ (excluding enlisted naval personnel and Stormtrooper Corps soldiers)
Terrain: Space, Atmosphere
Attack Potency: Multi-Continent level (On the highest power setting, superlaser is capable of shattering dwarf planetoids and flattening continents or even “demolishing” the crust of a standard sized planet)
Speed: Subsonic+ atmospheric speed (975+ km/hr). Can accelerate continuously to Sub-Relativistic speeds in space. Massively FTL+ travel via hyperspace (Primary hyperdrive should be a Class 2. Should thus be more than capable of covering tens of thousands of light-years in a matter of several hours)
Durability: At least Large Mountain level+ without deflector shields (Same as the standard Imperial I and Imperial II line). At least Country level with deflector shields (Vastly more powerful than the deflector shields of the now greatly outdated Clone Wars era Acclamator-class)
Range: Several light minutes with superlaser.
- Superlaser is prone to breaking down and is overall difficult to maintain.
- Superlaser requires extended recharge time after firing due to its hypermatter reactor being limited by the size of the parent vessel.
- Lack of dedicated point defence weaponry leaves the vessel especially vulnerable to small attack craft, such as snub fighters and light bombers.
