Cole MacGrath
Good KarmaEvil Karma

I thought this would be the end, that once Kessler and the Ray Sphere were gone, my life would go back to normal. But now I understand that this is my life. There's no going back. The gift of these powers will be my burden until the day I die. The people around here...they love me. How long will that last? What's going to happen the first time they expect me to be there for them and I'm not? I don't even know who to trust. Moya's still running around, planning God knows what. And Zeke...I don't know what to think. I've never been more alone...
~ Good Cole (InFAMOUS 1)

I quit college six credits short of graduation. Got pissed off by how a professor treated a friend of mine and walked away. Been walking away ever since. From my dad... from jobs... from myself... and look where it’s gotten me. That all changes right here, right now. My days of running away are over.
~ Cole accepting his destiny

See, that's where you're wrong, Bertrand. Conduits aren't monsters. You see, powers don't kill people. It's the person behind the powers...that kill people.
~ Good Cole (InFAMOUS 2)

Sometimes I hear people talking about Conduits and Humans like they're totally different. That's bullshit. Cause there ain't nobody with more Humanity than Cole MacGrath.
~ Zeke about Cole's sacrifice

Summary

Cole MacGrath is the original protagonist of the inFAMOUS series. He was a simple bike messenger before delivering a mysterious package called the Ray Sphere that changed his life forever. After the explosion, the city was thrown into chaos, and because his face was caught on camera right before the explosion the civilians believed that Cole was the one who triggered the blast and labeled him as a terrorist. He is now stuck in a dying city controlled by gangs with his now ex-girlfriend, Trish, who despises him and blames him for the death of her sister, and Zeke, Cole's best friend.

Cole MacGrath went from being a simple bike messenger to the savior of Empire City. Given powers from an exploding Ray Sphere, Cole can store, control, and unleash electricity in a variety of powerful ways. The electricity running through his body gives Cole enhanced strength, agility, durability and reflexes as well as a fast healing factor. On the path of good, Cole is a selfless hero who uses his powers to battle evil and injustice throughout the city.

  • Enhanced Electricity Manipulation, Enhanced Paralysis Inducement, Enhanced Durability Negation and Extreme Heat (Cole's resistances towards electricity and the heat/effects created by it has massively increased since his first appearance in Empire City, being able to casually resist the heat generated by his Ionic Storm[2] which can burn the likes of[2] The Beast who no sold the heat generated from a point blank nuclear explosion,[2] which normally reaches the staggering temperatures of 100,000,000° Celsius)
  • Smoke Manipulation, Sand Manipulation and Status Effect Inducement (Scales to his Evil Karma Counterpart who can resist the smoke and ash-based attacks of Nix,[2] even able to resist his own smoke and ash-based attacks as well[2])
  • Acid Manipulation and Poison Manipulation (Can resist the acidic blobs of liquid shot out by higher ranking corrupted like undY?t=255 Ravagers[2] and Devourers[2])
  • Ice Manipulation (Can resist the sub-zero ice attacks of[2] Lucy Kuo and Vermaak 88[2])

  • Power Absorption (Cole can resist the grasp of The Beast for a prolonged period of time[2] without having his powers absorbed[2])

  • Attack Potency: At least City level (Can fight those who can harm him like Kessler and Sasha, created thunderstorms after awakening his conduit gene which would require this level of energy, Polarity Wall convert bullets into energy which is directly absorbed by Cole, his lightning generates this much energy, destroyed the Ray Sphere in one shot,[1] which is completely undamaged by its own explosions[1]), higher with Overload Burst, Gigawatt Blades and Lightning Storm (Overload Burst doubles the potency of Cole's lightning bolts,[1] Gigawatt Blades greatly[20] increase the potency of Cole's physical strikes[21] and Lightning Storm greatly scales above the potency of Cole's regular lightning bolts or lightning infused attacks) | At least Large Mountain level (Fought and severely damaged[2] The Beast despite even a nuclear missile being unable to do so,[2] harmed and defeated[2] The Behemoth, scales to Delsin Rowe who's casual attacks turn people into energy), higher with Overload Burst, Gigawatt Blades, Ionic Storm and Finisher Attacks (Finisher Attacks do triple damage compared to Cole's regular attacks with either his Amp or regular lightning,[2] Ionic Storm greatly scales above Cole's regular attacking power[2]) | At least Large Mountain level, likely far higher (Easily defeated The Beast after being empowered by the RFI[2]), higher with Overload Burst, Ionic Storm, Gigawatt Blades and Finisher Attacks (Same as before)

Lifting Strength: Unknown. Class 50 via Magnetic Telekinesis (Stronger than Alden, who transformed a bridge into a giant golem, in a promotional comic, he was able to to derail a train with a Shockwave, sending it flying into a building, can easily throw cars with Magnetic Telekinesis) | At least Class K (Can pry open the mouth of a Devourer with his bare hands,[2] which weighs 375 tons, is physically superior to Mutants and can rag-doll them,[2] who are capable of destroying tanks with their bare hands,[2] can easily toss and yank ambulances and semi-trucks several meters through the air with physical strength via Lightning Hook[2]), higher with Magnetic Telekinesis/Kinetic Pulse (Stronger than before, Can escape the gravitational pull of The Beast’s Singularity with his Static Thrusters[2]) | At least Class M (Should be equal to, if not stronger, than The Beast), higher with Magnetic Telekinesis/Kinetic Pulse

Striking Strength: At least City level, higher with Gigawatt Blades | At least Large Mountain level. higher with Gigawatt Blades and Finisher Attacks (His Finishers inflict triple damage, and his Ultra Finishers deal even more[2]) | At least Large Mountain level, likely higher, even higher with Gigawatt Blades and Finisher Attacks (Same as before)

Durability: At least City level (Tanked being at the epicenter of the Ray Sphere Blast before his powers even manifested[1]) | At least Large Mountain level (Has withstood full-powered attacks from[2] The Beast, who confirmed himself to be bloodlusted at the time of their battle,[2] has taken multiple hits from[2] Lucy Kuo) | At least Large Mountain level, likely higher (Completely no sold attacks from[2] The Beast)

Stamina: Superhuman (Singlehandedly decimated dozens of military troops and helicopters,[22] while deprived of food and sleep for a long period of time,[23] can fight on even after suffering severe injuries and being beaten to a bloody pulp[19]), Infinite with Karmic Overload and RFI Absorbed (Karmic Overload grants Cole an infinite amount of energy that doesn't run out for 30 seconds[1] and after Cole absorbed the RFI he has a constant amount of energy that doesn't drain, even when spamming energy taxing attacks[2])

Range: Extended Melee Range with Gigawatt Blades and Amp; Kilometers with Ranged Attacks and Energy Absorption (Can fire off lightning bolts and rockets several kilometers away before they explode or dissipate,[1] can drain electricity from thunderstorms 18 kilometers in the sky,[2] can call down lightning bolts from clouds that are several kilometers off of the ground[2]) | Same as before | Planetary (The Ray Field Inhibitor's blast covered the entire planet, removing conduits from every continent on earth[2])

Standard Equipment: A cellphone and his Amp (Cole's main melee weapon of choice which channels Cole's melee power into his strikes, greatly amplifying them), The Barbed Cross (while he's a vampire)

Intelligence: At least Gifted (Adaptable combatant, able to easily exploit weaknesses. Comes up with plans and strategies on the fly. Can logically deduce the outcomes of his actions (Karmic Decisions). In a promotional comic for the first game, he showcases quick and intuitive thinking under pressure. Is adept at using the environment to his advantage, such as using a fuel-tank to blow off a Golem Conduit's arm or set David Warner on fire, and using the flooded district of Flood Town to easily dispatch small armies of Vermaak 88. Can easily turn his enemies attacks against themselves, such as deflecting the projectiles of Alden Tate and the Dust Men, or prematurely detonating Kessler and the First Sons' mines and grenades. Can quickly and seamlessly combine his own powers in a variety of ways to creatively takedown and surprise his opponents with maximum efficiency and unrivaled finesse, such as bouncing and ricocheting grenades off walls, redirecting rockets around tight corners, and expertly shooting down enemies through miniscule spaces and opening with consecutive headshots. Shows some proficiency in mechanical engineering, such as when he helped develop his Amp. Can regularly outsmart and outmaneuver secret government agents, organizations hundreds of years more advanced than the rest of the world, highly trained and skilled black-ops soldiers, and superpowered mercenaries hardened by years of combat experience. Has much experience single-handedly fighting off armies of highly trained, heavily armed, and even superpowered soldiers. Defeated Kessler, his own future self with over a century’s worth of knowledge and experience in an all-out fight, and should possess his experience himself after receiving his implanted memories at the end of inFAMOUS 1. He appears to be academically adept as well, as he was a straight-A student during four years of college prep, was only six credits short of college graduation before deliberately dropping out, and was intelligent enough that his mother could pass him off as a teacher)

Weaknesses: Large quantities of water will cause his body to short-circuit, however, he was able to survive floating in the Empire City harbor for a long amount of time, and can withstand neck deep water for up to 30 seconds. Also, he can use water to his advantage by conducting electricity through it to electrocute opponents. May short-circuit technology and could trigger firearms and gasoline. Reliant on electricity and outside sources to recharge | Same as before, As a vampire, direct contact with sunlight causes his skin to combust, and extended exposure will eventually incinerate him. Due to his vampiric status, he cannot directly touch the Barbed Cross and needs to keep it attached to the handle of his makeshift stake weapon, but after attaining The Barbed Cross Cole has a constant "shade" over him, effectively negating the inherent weaknesses as a vampire. | Non-Notable

    Notable Attacks/Techniques:

    InFamous 1 -
    • Lightning Bolt: Cole can discharge simple lightning bolts from his hands with no cost to his electrical reserves, giving his Karmic Good decisions within the game, Cole's lightning bolts passively regenerate his electrical reserves with every hit on his opponent and causes Cole to regain massive amounts of health back with each headshot. (Neutral with Karmic Good Upgrades)
    • Lightning Arcs: Cole can release deadly arcs of lightning that can bust through titanium-reinforced armor in an aircraft carrier, kill Conduits soldiers with its mere presence, and burn through insulated suits, it also allows Cole to grab onto physical objects like cars and freely manipulate them, controlling their physical movements and trajectory. (Neutral)
    • Electric Drain: Cole's main way of regaining lost electricity is through draining it from nearby sources like generators, automobiles, telephone booths, etc, this draining effect normally requires Cole to actively do said draining but if said electricity comes from an "open source", such as lighting bolts from the sky or exposed and destroyed generators Cole can passively absorbed the electricity without needing his approved action to do so. (Netural)
    • Electromagnetic Shockwave: Cole can throw out a shockwave of kinetic energy from his hands. doing so allows Cole to do things like redirect physical objects/attacks like rockets, forcefully lift and throw away physical objects like cars and humans or make enemies float in the air in a reverse magnetic field given his Good Karmic decisions within the game. (Neutral with Karmic Good Upgrades)
    • Megawatt Hammer: Cole can shoot out extremely condensed orbs of electricity from his hands, which are directly compared to that of an rocket being shot out from a RPG, given Cole's Good Karmic decisions in the game Megawatt Hammer also has the additive effects of making enemies float in the air if they're hit by the rocket itself or its AOE, plus Cole can also give them the ability to greatly increase their speed and the ability to home onto his opponents through "marking" them with a lightning bolt. (Neutral with Karmic Good Upgrades)
    • Shock Grenade: Cole can generate hand-size balls of condense electricity which have this pseudo adhesive effect of sticking onto his opponents but not onto the environment itself, given Cole's Karmic Good decisions within the game Shock Grenades also create Arc Restraints on downed opponents. (Neutral with Karmic Good Upgrades)
    • Induction Grind: Cole can "grind" on electric-filled objects like railroads, wires, etc... which heavily boostes his mobility, increases his speed and passively regenerates his electrical supplies. (Netural)
    • Polarity Wall: Cole can stop physical, radiation and energy-based attacks with Polarity Wall, it also has the additive effect of turning anything that interacts with it into electricity which is passively absorbed into Cole to refill his electrical supplies. (Neutral)
    • Precision: Allows Cole to slow down his perception of time greatly while manipulating his overall ability of sight, allowing him to "zoom in" farther than he normally can despite not having any object that magnifies his perception like binoculars, doing so to the point of even Kessler's lightning beam seeming slow when using this ability. (Neutral)
    • Psychic Vision: Cole can absorb the residual neuro-electric energy from the neurons' synapses of a recently deceased person's corpse to view their last memories by creating an outline of the deceased's or the killer's recent path. (Neutral)
    • Thunder Drop: An airborne attack that slams enemies from the sky, Cole jumps from any amount of distance, then charges up as he's heading towards the ground and once he hits the ground he lets out a wave of electricity which sends enemies flying and severely shocks them in the process as well. (Neutral)
    • Overload Burst: Cole quickly charges up an amped version of Lightning Bolt which deals double the damage compared to said normal Lightning Bolt, while also spreading large quantities of electricity through any conductive objects/beings. (Karmic Good Only Ability)
    • Gigawatt Blades: Cole condenses large quantities of electricity around his hands and forearms while changing the physical shape of that electricity into large blades. greatly increasing the damage and lethality of Cole's melee attacks, they also have the added bonus of not consuming any of Cole's electrical supplies while active but only when activated. (Neutral)
    • Healing Touch: Cole concentrates electricity around his hands and uses them like a defibrillator, allowing him to heal down civilians that have sustained gunshot wounds from the Reapers and First Sons or even the extremely toxic and debilitating tar that comes from Shasha. (Neutral)
    • Arc Restraint: Cole can physically restrain his opponent's movements through creating electrical shackles around both their arms and legs which causes them to become physically grounded to the earth itself. (Neutral)
    • Bio Leech: Cole can absorb the bioelectrical energy of his opponent through physical contact with their head/brain, doing so completely refills Cole's electrical supplies, heals him physically and causes his opponent to die. (Neutral)
    • Karmic Overload: A Karmic Overload occurs when Cole's Karmic power is at its fullest, this ability gives Cole unlimited energy for a short period of time but given it takes away large amounts of Karmic level it can't be used consistently within a fight. (Neutral)
    • Lightning Storm: Cole changes atmospheric conditions with his control over electricity and generates a large lightning storm which allows him to summon and control devastating bolts of lightning, this was powerful enough to kill David who was normally resistant towards electricity and could absorb electricity as well, it can also be used to strike Cole himself to fully restore his health, energy, and electrical charges. (Neutral)

    InFamous 2 -

Alpha Bolt: Cole shoots out a bolt of lightning, this possesses multiple different forms and functionality depending on the type of "bolt" (Neutral)

    • Pincer Bolt: Cole generates 3 bolts of lightning which will home onto Cole's target if they're close enough to the bolts. (Neutral)
    • Artillery Bolt: An increased range version of Cole's regular Alpha Bolt that does slightly more damage but has a slower firing rate. (Netural)
    • Magnum Bolt: Cole generates a magnified bolt of lightning that does increased damage compared to Cole's Alpha Bolt, it's similar to Cole's Overload Burst (Good)
    • Bolt Stream: Cole constantly generates a stream of Alpha Bolts to pepper his enemies with. (Good)

Alpha Blast: A strong kinetic shockwave that sends objects flying and knocks enemies off their feet, this possesses multiple different forms and functionality depending on the type of "blast". (Neutral)

    • Detonation Blast: Cole creates a cage of swirling, condense kinetic energy that sticks to any physical object, this can be exploded through either waiting a couple seconds or instantly if Cole shoots the cage with any of his "bolts", it also has the additive effect of allowing Cole to jump further through Cole jumping on the cage and detonating it, this doesn't damage Cole. (Netural)
    • Graviton Blast: Cole generates a blast of kinetic energy with electromagnetism woven in it, causing enemies that're hit by the blast to be thrown into the air and are forced to glide slowly back down to earth, allowing Cole to pepper them with attacks while they're helpless to stop it. (Good)
    • Sniper Blast: Sends out a condensed version of an Alpha Blast, carrying the same kinetic force behind it but possessing a smaller AOE, greatly used against enemies who're far away enough to not be affected by Cole's Alpha Blast. (Netural)

Alpha Rocket: Cole lets out a ball of highly condensed kinetic energy that's held together by electromagnetism, this possesses multiple different forms and functionality depending on the type of "rocket". (Neutral)

    • Redirect Rocket: Cole lets out a rocket that's equal in power to his Alpha Rockets but these rockets of the ability to home onto a specific target or object if they have been "painted" by one of Cole's lightning bolts, this is very useful of getting around someone's defenses if they aren't omni-directional. (Good)
    • Sticky Rocket: Cole lets out an Alpha Rocket that splits into three smaller ones which home onto Cole's targets and stick to them, perfectly used for constant spamming. (Netural)
    • Tesla Missile: While not listed as a Rocket, it is very similar to one. It may only be used by Cole when he focuses his powers through one of New Marais' transformers. Its primary use is for restarting other transformers, but it can also be used as an attack; any enemy hit by a Tesla Missile will be destroyed instantly in addition to triggering an electric explosion. (Neutral)
    • Missile Bolt: While not listed as a Rocket, it is still considered a Rocket power as well as a Bolt. Cole uses this power in place of his normal Bolts during his first fight with the Beast, and only regains access to it if the RFI is fully charged. It has a smaller blast radius than other Rockets, and electrifies any conductive surface, much like a Bolt. (Initially Neutral, but later only becomes accessible for Good Karma)

Alpha Grenades: Cole throws out a ball of condensed kinetic energy held together by electromagnetism, this possesses multiple different forms and functionality depending on the type of "grenade" (Netural)

    • Cluster Grenade: Cole throws out a regular Alpha Grenade that proceeds to split into 8 smaller ones, generating tons of multiple smaller explosions, perfect for dealing tons of damage against a singular target or flooding a chokepoint with damage. (Neutral)
    • Sticky Grenade: Cole throws out a grenade which possesses the ability to stick onto physical beings like humans, does not stick onto objects. (Good)
    • Electrocution Grenade: The Electrocution Grenade is an unstable grenade that electrocutes nearby targets before exploding. Has a weaker blast radius than the Alpha Grenade. Cole can also use this grenade as a temporary source of energy for his Electric Drain before it explodes, making it easier for him to recover energy in powered down areas. (Neutral)
    • Stalker Grenade: A grenade that, when lands, will "hop" to the nearest enemy and detonate seconds later. (Neutral)

Kinetic Pulse: Cole can lift objects with this power and turn them into an explosive projectile. From pizza boxes to boxes to cars, the object captured would always release an electric explosion after being thrown by a shockwave. Works on organic beings. (Neutral)

Static Thrusters: Cole can glide by releasing a stream of electricity. Was able to escape the gravitational pull of the Beast's incinerating Black hole. Later on was enhanced in New Marais. RFI and Beast Forms grant Unrestricted Flight. (Neutral)

Lightning Tether: Lightning Tether is the ability to use a rope of electrical energy and pull Cole to a building, or object, it can be moving or stationary. It the most efficient form of travel, especially for climbing. (Neutral)

Lighting Hook: Cole pulls objects and enemies towards him with an electrical beam. (Neutral)

Car Jump: Cole can use reach electromagnetism to launch himself off of objects such as cars and generators (Neutral)

Overcharge: When Cole drains a massive amount of electricity, he will become "Overcharged," where he begins to produce unlimited amounts of electricity, and gains an electric aura that electrocutes anything nearby. The boost lasts as long as Cole is in contact with a conductive object (power cables, generators, etc). Can also release omnidirectional electrical shockwaves. (Neutral)

Ionic Vortex: Summons a small tornado that picks up everything. Can easily pick up vehicles and enemies. Electrocutes anything caught. Has another version where Cole has direct control over it. (Netural)
    • The Amp: Is a powerful melee weapon built and designed by Zeke, it is made to channel Cole's electrical energy to increase the power of his melee attacks. The Amp, which resembles a large double-pronged cattle prod, is what Cole uses to channel his electricity into and to attack enemies with. When in use, Cole pulls it from his pack, which would extend and channel electricity.

During InFamous 2, Cole has the option of gaining new powers from one of two women, one with ice powers and one with fire powers. The ice powers are gained from Kuo, and are considered canon, as they are the good option.

    • Frost Shield: Possesses the same capabilities and functionality as Cole's Polarity Wall but with a cryonic element infused with it. (Good)
    • Ice Launch: Cole propels himself high into the air by creating a stalagmite at his feet, which he then jumps off allowing him to achieve greater height and distance. Could be used in midair to drop ice blocks on enemies (Good)
    • Freeze Rocket: Cole fires a ball of condensed sub-zero air which instantly flash freezes anyone and anything solid if directly hit by the rocket or its area of effect. (Good)
    • Ice Grenade: Cole throws out a condensed ball of sub-zero air which instantly flash freezes anyone and anything solid if directly hit by the rocket or by its area of effect, it also generates large shards of ice which provides Cole perfect cover against physical attacks. (Good)
    • Shatter Blast: Cole creates several ice spikes in front of him and then uses his blast to propel them at high speed in a large spread. The spikes travel with such speed and power that even at long range, a single spike can remove shields carried by enemies and knock back those not carrying shields. The blast also can reflect back certain projectiles like Shockwave can. (Good)
    • Ionic Freeze: Cole generates large icicles from the ground which freezes anything and anyone who is touched or damaged by it. (Good)

During the events of the DLC side story "Festival of Blood," Cole is bitten and subsequently turned into a vampire by the head vampire herself, Bloody Mary. As a vampire, Cole gains several new supernatural abilities that further boost his already superhuman skill set. These powers, and Festival of Blood as a whole, are non-canon.

    • Bite: Cole grabs his victim and drains them of their blood, healing his wounds and refueling his vampiric abilities
    • Shadow Swarm: Cole transforms into a swarm of bats and flies through the air. He is also seemingly intangible in this mode.
    • Vampire Sense: Cole now possesses a strange supernatural sense that allows him to see the blood and veins inside of person's body. Extremely helpful for detecting any supernatural abnormalities inside of a person. This also passively warns him of any nearby supernatural enemies, even if they are disguised/transformed. Also allows him to see through illusions and read ancient vampiric languages.
    • The Barbed Cross: The Barbed Cross was created by Father Ignatius after Bloody Mary and her vampire followers began feeding upon the populace of New Marais. Its core was composed of wood from a crucifixion cross. The cross itself was forged from silver in Solomon's Temple and was then submerged in holy water in Vatican City. After its creation, it was blessed by the "Big Guy" Himself. It was the ultimate weapon for slaying vampires and other creatures of the night. The holy powers of the Cross could instantly incarnate the normal vampires that infested New Marais, can do considerable damage to powerful vampires like Bloody Mary.

    Note:

    • The events and abilities that appear within "Festival of Blood" are regarded as non-canon, and mostly serve as a "what if?" side story. As such, they do not affect his canon inFamous 2 statistics, and his vampire abilities are not considered apart of his normal inFamous 2 skill set. If they are to be used, then it should be stated within the OP.
