~ Clover's last words to Qrow |
Summary
Clover Ebi is a supporting character in RWBY. He is the leader of the Ace Operatives Specialist team. He has been described as a total bro character who always makes luck puns. He constantly feels like he's in an action movie because things always go right for him, so he doesn't need to look when he's about to jump. This ultimately leads him to be a person that relies too much on his Semblance and causing him to ride the lines between confidence vs arrogance. He appears to be cordial and calm, as well as good-humored and easy to get along with. However, Clover is quick to turn back to a task at hand when needed. He is fiercely loyal, and tends to bring out the best in people, and does whatever it takes to protect his Kingdom.
At the end of Volume 7, he is killed by Tyrian Callows, who stabbed him in the back using Harbinger to implicate Qrow Branwen as his killer.
Powers and Stats
Tier: 8-A
Name: Clover Ebi
Origin: RWBY
Gender: Male
Age: Unknown (Likely in his 20s or 30s)
Classification: Human, Huntsman, Leader of the Ace-Ops
Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Aura (Able to use his Aura for numerous purposes), Forcefield Creation (Aura can be used as a full-body forcefield), Statistics Amplification (Can use Aura to enhance his striking power), Enhanced Senses (Can use his Aura to sharpen his senses), Regeneration (Low), Extrasensory Perception (His Aura allows him to sense things around him), Acrobatics, Weapon Mastery, Martial Arts (Expert Hand-to-Hand Combatant), Accelerated Development (Training [Physical Statistics and Abilities; Even Huntsmen in Training are able to rapidly develop in short periods of time, becoming significantly stronger and faster and evolving their abilities through short periods of training]), Supernatural Luck (Via Semblance), Resistance to Extreme Heat and Cold (Aura protects the user from sub-zero temperatures, allowing them to be encased in ice without being cold, walk through a blizzard in casual clothing[1], and traverse the kingdom of Atlas, which resides in Remnant's North Pole,[2] without wearing any protective gear, as well as extreme heat up to and including the heat of flames,[3], being blasted with steam[4] being struck by lighting for an extended period of time,[5][6][7] and being submerged in lava without being burned[8])
Attack Potency: Multi-City Block level (Is regarded as the most skilled of the Ace-Ops[9], who could somewhat contend with Maiden Penny. Fought both Qrow Branwen and Tyrian Callows, and was forced to fight both simultaneously due to the latter splitting them up)
Speed: FTL Reactions and Combat Speed (Could keep up with Qrow and Tyrian in combat)
Lifting Strength: Class G (Could restrain Tyrian)
Striking Strength: Multi-City Block level
Durability: Multi-City Block level (Took direct hits from Qrow and Tyrian), higher with Aura (Aura functions as a forcefield with a cumulative durability, depicted as a 'health bar', that allows him to take dozens of hits from opponents as strong as himself without any significant injury)
Stamina: Superhuman (His stamina should be comparable to if not superior to the likes of Volume 2 Team RWBY, who were able to fight nonstop for an entire day before tiring)
Range: Extended melee range to several meters with Kingfisher
Standard Equipment: Kingfisher, Horseshoe
Intelligence: Gifted (As the leader of the Ace-Ops, a special ops team comprised of the most elite Huntsmen and Huntresses in Atlas, Clover is a highly skilled fighter. He is considered the best among his team due in part to his Semblance of good fortune. Notably, this allows him to perform difficult feats such as making an impossible hook on the Frosted Petra Gigas Geist and pulling it out for Harriet Bree to kill, to holding his own against Qrow Branwen and Tyrian Callows simultaneously, both skilled fighters in their own right)
Weaknesses: Continual damage to his Aura will cause it to decay to the point where he can be left open to more significant damage. Aura's durability is cumulative; it will deplete with each attack he takes and can be brought down by characters of similar strength. Semblances drain Aura by a small amount and without it they cannot be used until it is recharged [Though in Clover's case this only applies to him actively focusing his Semblance as it is normally continually passively active]. Constant exposure to extreme temperature can drain the user's Aura.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
- Kingfisher: Clover's weapon of choice, a collapsible fishing rod which he used as a grappling hook and whip. When inactive, the pole collapses into the weapon's handle, and the reel folded to shorten Kingfisher's length.
- Good Fortune: Clover's Semblance, which allows him to manipulate probability positively. Much like Qrow's Semblance, Clover's is constantly active, thereby constantly causing good fortune wherever he goes. However, in contrast to Qrow, Clover's Semblance seemingly only affects him, instead of indiscriminately constantly bringing fortune to everyone around him. This power has varying effects, from always giving him good hands in card games to saving him from being crushed by a cave-in, instead causing a convenient piece of debris to crush a Grimm to death before it could attack him.
