ChirinLamb
When we are young, we don't know a lot of things. But the small amount of knowledge we do possess makes us happy. Knowing our home, our friends, how to get places, and maybe how to get back. The world is a strange new place; a great puzzle. Sights, sounds, and smells are it's pieces. We see things we know nothing about; things that surprise us, and sometimes sadden us. But as we explore and grow, the time comes when we learn; we learn about the world and we grow older.
~ The Narrator

I won't lose. I will become stronger than the wolves.
~ Chirin

So then, Wolf - I am no longer a weakling sheep. Instead of fangs, I have horns which are just as sharp. My hooves are harder than a rock... and it has become my nature to fight without fear of death.
~ Chirin
...but to them, he was neither ram nor wolf, but a monster...

Summary

Chirin (チリン) was a young lamb featured in the children's book and animated film Chirin no Suzu, (Chirin's Bell), known globally as Ringing Bell.

Chirin was a happy, energetic and adventurous child who loved his mother very much. One night, their herd was attacked by Uô, the Wolf King, and Chirin was unable to escape, forcing his mother to lunge into the wolf's path to protect her son, killing her. Once Chirin realized what had happened, he was overcome with melancholy, which soon transformed into rage. He tracked down the wolf and tried to kill him, but to no avail. He began to request that the Wolf King train him to become a wolf so he could become powerful enough to defeat his enemies. After much persistence, the wolf agreed. The Wolf King brutally trained Chirin for 3 years, turning the young lamb into an unrecognizable monster that had grown to care about the Wolf King as a father. This all changed when the wolf had him attack the barn where he lived as a child. There he saw a young lamb just like him on that tragic day years ago. He realized what he had become and couldn't go through with it, causing him to fight with the wolf. Chirin killed Uô by goring him in the chest, but to his surprise, this is what the Wolf King desired all along, and he was glad that he was felled by the former. Even though Chirin had stopped the wolf, the herd no longer recognized him and was horrified, as he had become an unnatural beast. Realizing that he was no longer a sheep and that he had never truly become a wolf either, Chirin disappeared to the mountains, where only tales of his existence remained.

All previous abilities enhanced, plus Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Martial Arts, Natural Weaponry (He has little horn nubs), Willpower Manipulation (Due to a mixture of his hatred and tenacity, he was able to will himself into a beast powerful enough to dominate the wild), Reactive Evolution (Grew into a large beast with demonic horns with a rugged, wolf-like appearance due to his willpower and intense survival/combat training; implied to have transferred to a carnivorous diet), Resistance to Extreme Weather (His fleece helps regulates his body temperature even in blizzards, thunderstorms and extended hunting on hot days)

All previous abilities enhanced (Except for Small Size), plus Enhanced Martial Arts (Mastered the Wolf King's fighting style, and has become an unstoppable force across the lands) and Natural Weaponry (His elongated horns, rock-solid hooves, and unnatural biting force), Afterimage Creation, Fear Inducement (His monstrous appearance and vicious spirit frighten other animals; possibly comparable to the Wolf King, who can scare off bears with his immense strength, evil energy and ability.)

Attack Potency: Below Average Human level (Is a young lamb that can't even bite through a snake's skin) | Wall level (Easily beat a group of Panthers and a Grizzly Bear; destroyed a tree with a single headbutt.) | At least Wall level (Casually defeated an army of guard dogs; defeated the Wolf King; can easily destroy wooden structures; much stronger than before)

Range: Below Standard Melee Range | Below Standard Melee Range | Extended Melee Range

Standard Equipment: His bell

Intelligence: Average (While courageous and tenacious, he is still just a regular kid) | Average | Above Average (Grew smarter and wiser with age; took in the Wolf King's knowledge; was able to mature past his revenge, even if he ultimately had to defeat the Wolf King anyway), Gifted in combat (Has become dominant over all predators in the animal kingdom; has a good tactical sense and ability set thanks to the Wolf King's teachings)

Weaknesses: He can be paralyzed by fear | None notable | Some of his moves would be more effective if he were a natural wolf; he likely can't instill fear in other predators

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • Chirin's Style:
    • Ram: Chirin runs at full speed and headbutts his opponents
    • Gore: Adult Chirin can use his horns to stab and slash his enemies; can be used in tandem with Ram
  • King Wolf's Style:
    • Acrobatic Combinations: Can swiftly run and jump around the opponent and attack them multiple times; more useful in an environment with obstacles and structures
    • Tough Jaws Bite: Seldomly used, but with it, Chirin can use his abnormal jaw strength to bite as hard as the Wolf King
    • Claw Slash: While Chirin does not have claws, he can use his rock-solid hooves to aggressively stomp and batter the opponent
