~ Dr. Eggman about Chaos |
Summary
Chaos (カオス Kaosu) is the main antagonist of Sonic Adventure, an immortal and ageless creature composed entirely of concentrated, water-like Chaos Energy. It was trapped inside the Master Emerald for thousands of years, up until it was released by Dr. Eggman in Sonic Adventure during another plot to conquer the world. It managed to absorb all the 7 Chaos Emeralds across the events of the game, growing in strength with each one, until it attained all seven and using their negative energy to attain its final and strongest form; Perfect Chaos.
It is a descendant of the Ancients, an alien species whose home would be destroyed[1] by a malevolent entity known as The End. A small few escaped this fate on spaceships powered by the Chaos Emeralds, ultimately settling upon Earth as refuge due to the Master Emerald interfering with their navigation systems. They would settle at the Starfall Islands. After some time, a group of them would take the Chaos Emeralds and go to the Master Emerald. Yet The End's influence continued to erode their DNA, turning them into the Chao which Chaos would mutate from.
Chaos was the original guardian of the Chao, the 7 Chaos Emeralds, and the Master Emerald on Angel Island.
