What does it mean to be a Hunter? I say, it's all about where you belong. The Warlocks have their libraries, the Titans have their walls...But Hunters belong in the wilds.
~ Cayde-6

You tell Zavala and Ikora...the Vanguard...is the best bet...I've ever...lost...
~ Cayde-6's last words

Nobody makes my fate but me.
~ Cayde-6

Summary

Cayde-6 is an Exo Guardian and the Hunter Vanguard, overseeing Guardians of the Hunter Class. He used to run with a crew of Hunters that was famous for its exploits. He and his best friend, Andal Brask, took part in the Vanguard Dare after their crew was attacked by Taniks, the Scarred. The one who failed to take down the legendary Fallen mercenary would become the next Hunter Vanguard. Cayde-6 won the bet and Andal Brask joined the Vanguard. However, Taniks had survived and would later return to kill Andal, prompting Cayde-6 to hunt him down again. After seemingly killing him this time, Cayde-6 would be promoted to be the new Hunter Vanguard.

During the events of Forsaken, Cayde-6 and the Guardian were called in to deal with a prison riot within the Prison of Elders. In actuality it was a prison break, orchestrated by the Awoken Prince, Uldren Sov, and the Scorn Barons. After being separated from the Guardian, Cayde-6 would face this group's Scorn forces on his own. Though he managed to defeat the Scorn underlings, he and his Ghost, Sundace, were assassinated immediately afterwards by the Barons and Uldren Sov. Cayde-6 died in the Guardian's arms and the Vanguard was once more without a Hunter.

Attack Potency: Varies (A Guardian's capabilities with the Light at any given moment may vary[100][35]), at least Small Building level, likely higher physically (Powerful Guardians, like Cayde-6, can be strong simply by holding the Light inside them, without the need to let it out.[126] As the Hunter Vanguard, he's stronger than the average Warlock), higher with abilities, up to City Block level with super abilities and weapons (Guardians can take out combat vehicles, such as the Goliath Tank, with super abilities and powerful weaponry[127][128][129][130]), at most Large Country level+ (Defeated and nearly killed the legendary Fallen bounty hunter Taniks, twice.[131] Cayde-6 has a rivalry with Lord Shaxx.[132][133][134] Played a key role in defeating and imprisoning all of the Scorn Barons.[135][136][137] Hiraks, the Mindbender had been killing powerful beings in order to create a Throne World, with Cayde-6 contributing to the majority of his Throne World's size.[138] Should overall be on par with other powerful Guardians, who can match Psions capable of moving Phobos into a geostationary orbit close to Mars[139])

Speed: Varies,[100][35] at least Subsonic (Even unremarkable Guardians can easily blitz humans, even though humans in Destiny have a faster reaction time than humans in the real world[140][141]), up to Massively Hypersonic+ (Superior to The Stormherd, who can hook lightning from the air mid-dsecend[142]. Comparable to the Guardian, who was able to react to lightning during their Stormcaller training[143]), his attack speed Varies with weapons, FTL travel speed with his jumpship (Jumpships can quickly traverse the solar system)

Lifting Strength: Varies,[100][35] at least Class 5 (Hunters frequently incorporate Titan armor components into their own gear.[144] Titan helmets are heavy enough to snap a human neck and other armor pieces are heavy enough to break skulls and rocks through sheer mass[145][146][147]), at most Class M (Stronger than Lady Efrideet, who threw Saladin from a mountain, hitting a Fallen Walker twenty miles away[148][149]), likely Class P (Should be somewhat comparable to Saint-14)

Striking Strength: Varies,[100][35] at least Small Building level, likely higher physically, at most Large Country level+ (Comparable to his AP)

Durability: Varies,[100][35] at least Small Building level, likely higher physically (Comparable to Titans, who can tank a Centurion's weapon shots with decent armor.[150] These shots can disintegrate small vehicles like sparrows[151]), at most Large Country level+ (Can take hits from comparable opponents)

Stamina: Superhuman (Guardians can fight for an entire day[152])

Range: Up to Hundreds of Meters with weapons and abilities, up to Hundreds of Kilometers for his Ghost, far higher with Golden Gun (Comparable to Ana Bray, whose Golden Gun shots could travel through space for light-years, though its effective range is far shorter[153])

Standard Equipment : Ace of Spades, knives, his armor, his Ghost: Sundance

Intelligence: Gifted (Cayde-6 is part of the Vanguard, the leaders of humanity's military forces. He holds the position of Hunter Vanguard, mentoring new Hunters.[154] He also oversees and coordinates Guardian operations and deployments of Hunters throughout the Sol system.[155][156] Cayde-6 is an excellent combatant, survivalist and scout and he and his crew achieved a practically legendary status[157][158][159][160])

Weaknesses: If Cayde-6's Ghost is destroyed his next death will be final.
