Summary
Caliburn (カリバーン - Karibān)-- who was once Excalibur (エクスカリバー - Ekusukaribā)-- is the deuteragonist of Sonic and the Black Knight. He was the very sword placed into stone that could only be removed by the one true king of of England; King Arthur who would do so long before the events of Black Knight.
However, the immortality granted to King Arthur by Excalibur's scabbard had tainted him with evil long before the appearance of Sonic the Hedgehog. At the hedgehog's arrival and pulling Caliburn out of the stone, it would begin to scathingly tu.tor him in an attempt to reign in his free spirit for proper Knighthood. However, as their journey progressed and they spent a majority of the time bickering with one another, a friendship developed that would ultimately cause the speaking sword to sacrifice himself for Sonic.
It would not be the end, however, as the Knights of the Round Table used their Sacred Swords to make the sword Excalibur once more and bring about the end of the mastermind of it all; The Dark Queen.
