Summary
Cain was a challenger for the position of Royal Assassin, attaining second place in the competition. He was sponsored by Duke Perrington, and as such, possessed vast magical abilities of the Valg. Throughout the competition, he killed all of his competitors for the position one by one through use of the Ridderak, attaining enormous physical power.
Despite his power, the combined efforts of Celaena, Nehemia and Elena overpowered him for Chaol to finish him off.

Intelligence: Above Average. A practitioner of Wrydmarks, skilled with poisons and a capable warrior and shaman. However, his intelligence may be increased by the Valg living inside of him
Standard Tactics: Cain opens with summoning the Ridderak, and stands back to let it fight for him. If the Ridderak is defeated, he attacks with a flurry of fists, making use of his environment for any weapons at hand
Weaknesses: If the Valg is removed from his body, he will be unable to use his magical abilities, and his strength will likely be vastly depleted. Sufficiently powerful light-based power can render him weaker. Not a very capable strategist
Note: While Wyrdmarks do allow other powers, such as paralysis, Cain was not as skilled of a user of the marks as Celaena or Nehemia and likely did not know how to access those abilities
