Don't worry, we're not trying to drug you with the food. I just firmly believe that all living things are driven by appetite. We live to eat and eat to live. I'm quite fond of dogs in that respect. They're as loyal as can be, all in the simple hopes of receiving a tasty meal in return.
~ Breeder

We're changing this miserable world, aren't we? We'll create a new world in which only the truly capable specimen will remain, and the weak, mediocre humans will naturally be eliminated. In this future without humans... what good comes from preserving one's humanity?
~ Breeder

Summary

"Breeder" is the leader of Pet Shop, a separate group of Insect Humans with the goal of upheaving the current human social structure, and in its place establishing a society consisting purely of Insect Humans competing with each other for survival. To that end, Pet Shop is the reason for Nest's struggles in finding more Power Killer, as they've been hoarding it for the purpose of turning civilians into Insect Humans against their will, fusing them with specially imported and bred specimens such as endangered species or natural monuments.

Breeder was fused with the DNA of a Diving Bell Spider, a natural monument in South Korea, granting him an additional four vestigial spider limbs jutting out of his head, as well as the ability to manipulate water with his webs.

Powers and Stats

Tier: 9-B, far higher underwater or with water bubble

Name: Unknown, referred to as "Breeder" and "Boss"

Origin: Jungle Juice

Gender: Male

Age: In his 20s[1]

Classification: Leader of Pet Shop, Insect Human/Diving Bell Spider Human

Powers and Abilities: Superhuman Physical Characteristics, Statistics Amplification (Via Defense Mechanisms), Thread Manipulation and Adhesive Manipulation (As a spider he can cast sticky webs[2]), Water Manipulation (As a Diving Bell Spider, he's able to easily manipulate water with his threads[3], though he uses it to do the reverse of what the spider does- gathering bubbles of water in the air instead of vice-versa[2]), likely Underwater Breathing (Type 2; Can seemingly breathe in water, somehow[4]), limited Body Puppetry (With Marionette[5]), Empowerment (Aquatic Insect Humans gain an advantage in water[6]), Durability Negation (With Pet Chain and Fishbowl, via drowning[2][5]), limited Light Manipulation (With Defense Mechanisms- his eyes light up purple[2])

Attack Potency: Wall level (Threw around Eyewear Suchan[2]), at least Wall level+ underwater or with water bubble (Stated by Junhyeong to be on a whole other level than he is[7], Huijin stated that he was about as powerful as Jun Ji if not more so[5], knocked out Complex Runaway Suchan in one hit[3]), can ignore conventional durability with Pet Chain and Fishbowl via drowning

Speed: Subsonic+ (Saw Eyewear Suchan coming before he used Hare Coursing, caught Eyewear Suchan on two occasions[2][5]), Supersonic underwater or with water bubble (Caught Gayeon Sin, dodged an attack from Jun Ji[8])

Lifting Strength: At least Peak Human physically (Casually threw Suchan across the greenhouse[2], as a spider his Complex should be physically lacking[9], but still superior to Daun), at least Class 50 physically while underwater or with water bubble (Restrained Gayeon Sin[8]), Class 50 with spider silk (Could immobilize Dohwa Cheon[10], and later tie down Gayeon Sin with his threads[11]), Class 100 with Fishbowl (Gathered this much water)

Striking Strength: Wall level (Threw Suchan across the greenhouse[2]), Wall level+ underwater or with water bubble (Downed Complex Runaway Suchan in one hit[3])

Durability: Wall level (As a spider his physicals should be relatively weak[9], withstood Suchan's Hare Coursing albeit with notable damage[2], and he would've been seriously injured by Suchan's Hunting Rifle had he not already put up a web which dampened the blow[5]), Wall level+ underwater or with water bubble (Like Jangjun Kim, he should be harder to damage in the water[6]), water bubble is Wall level (Dispersed by Hyeseong with one kick[5]), higher for Pet Chain (Stopped Eyewear Suchan[2], but was broken by one of Junhyeong's barbed hairs[7]), his Fish Bowl is even higher (Dispersed by Huijin in one blow[5])

Stamina: At least Athletic Human (Lacks showings of extended combat, though he was did not show any signs of exhaustion after his fight with Suchan[8], despite taking several hits to the body and head which drew blood, and using three different Defense Mechanisms[2][7][5])

Range: Standard Melee Range, meters with spider silk, Pet Chain, Fishbowl, and Marionette

Standard Equipment: Earring, which can activate sprinklers

  • Optional Equipment: None

Intelligence: Gifted (Is the head of an organization smuggling and breeding foreign species into Korea for the purpose of engineering specific specimens of Insect Humans, which includes endangered species and national monuments[12]. Remained a step ahead of Nest for the majority of the season, despite multiple new variables as well as two traitors[13][14], with the cast only achieving half-victories if not being outright defeated during each encounter with Pet Shop[15][3][8][16][17][18]. Knew that Junhyeong secretly knew about the Black Island lab and stationed the Antlion there in order to first get the Predators out[16], and then destroy the lab[19], while having the Old Man plant explosives inside of the Black Island prisoners in the event that the Antlion failed and Nest did successfully take control of the lab, in order to make attacking Nest easier later on[20]. Bounced back relatively quickly after his first solid defeat despite his loss of subordinates and Gigantea[21], with him having raised another extreme specimen beforehand[22]), Skilled Combatant (Can access three different Defense Mechanisms, meaning he should at least have more experience using his Complex than any of Nest's Freshmen did during their encounter)

Weaknesses: Needs a large source of water in order to use Fish Bowl. While hard to damage from opponents trapped inside, his water constructs are vulnerable against external attacks[2], although he can easily reform his water bubble[5]. Spiders in general utilize webs and venom as way to protect their weak bodies, meaning they're at an extreme disadvantage in close combat[9]. Tends to underestimate his opponents.

Notable Attacks/Techniques:

  • The Defense Mechanism of the Diving Bell Spider: Defense Mechanisms are the way the human body reacts to threats, tapping into one's animal instincts to exert more force when the need arises. Insect Humans can harness far greater power this way, with their Defense Mechanisms allowing extended access to their Complex for more abilities. When Breeder uses a Defense Mechanism, his eyes glow purple.
    • Pet Chain: A loop of silk is created around his opponent's neck like a collar, while four threads tie them down to the ground and a fifth connects to a line Breeder holds like a leash. The "collar" forms the rim of a bubble of water which coalesces around the person's head, drowning them.
    • Fishbowl: Breeder encases himself and his opponent in a shell of webbing which water is rapidly drawn into, creating a sphere of water which completely submerges himself and his target. Functions like a giant version of Pet Chain, limiting their mobility and drowning them.
    • Marionette: Threads loop around his opponent's neck and arms, with lines of silk drawn up and around the rafters of the Greenhouse like strings on a puppet, granting Breeder partial control of their movement. Was used to ram Suchan into Huijin headfirst.
