Brainiac (SA)

Fan art by Anthony Castilo

Superman succeeded in surviving this first attack-- But the worst of his ordeal is yet to come! That is no idle boast-- But a scientifically-calculated fact! The name Brainiac has long struck terror in every Kryptonian's heart-- But Superman is discovering a terror infinitely worse than anything even my twelfth-level computer mind could conceive! A terror from which there is no escape!

I have been reborn and re-formed and given a destiny anew. My foes are but two-- the angel of death who calls himself Superman... And his master... my master... who seeks my second ending. But I shall outwit them both. I shall raise armies and march into Hell itself to destroy those who would destroy me. I am no longer machine, no longer a cold and lifeless computer. I am more. I have been imbued with life. Organic and yet more. I have become greater than life, greater than machine. I am Brainiac. And that is more than enough for any!

Summary

Brainiac was a robot from the distant future who traveled the universe, shrinking cities for his own self-satisfaction. He was among Superman's greatest and most fearsome foes. Though he lacked in physical strength, he more than made up for it with his unmatched mind, arsenal of futuristic weapons and shockingly good agility. After what could have been his final outing involving a weapon known as the Planet-Eater, Brainiac's body was transformed into the New Brainiac, a bio-robot who absorbed all the knowedge in the universe, and embarked on a new quest, a quest that would never be fufilled, to overthrow God himself.

Energy Projection (Has many ray-guns and similar technologies), Flight, Spaceflight (Via his various spaceships[21]), Attack Reflection (Via his flying saucer[21]), Air Manipulation (Via airhoses.[21] (Manipulated a water tornado[11]), Size Manipulation (Has shrunk entire cities, and possibly planets down to the size of models.[21][22] Can also make things grow in size[23] Eventually built a device that defiantly could shrink planets[11]), Absorption (Via Cosmic Rays, which absorb energy[21]), Forcefield Creation (Strong enough to resist Superman throwing he had at him, destroying a small planet in the process[21] Can shield over entire areas[11]), Sleep Manipulation (Can go into suspended animation[21] Made a drink to put someone to sleep[9]), Teleportation (Superman teleported Metropolis from his spaceship to Earth using his tech[21]), Magnetism Manipulation (As seen here[24]), Explosion Manipulation (Has built bombs, one of which was strong enough to destroy Earth[24]), Clairvoyance (Built various devices to perform this, such as a medallion.[9] Can produce his thoughts onto a screen[9] and can see events across time and space), Telekinesis, Fire Manipulation, Temperature Manipulation (Via Force Fingers[25]), Biological Manipulation (Caused Superman to grow a third eye, though that was due to his unique physiology.[25] Devolved an entire city, can lobomize animals and people[10]), Radiation Manipulation (Can fire Kryptonite radiation[25] and increase radiation values from substances.[17] Has miniature atomic bombs[23]) , Time Travel (Via the Time-Space Ship[26]), Telepathy (Via the Mind Helmet[26]), Hypnotism, Mind Manipulation (Hypnotized Lex Luthor[1]), Status Effect Inducement (Could paralyze Superman[1]), Enhanced Senses (Can see even through lead[27]), Healing (His Z-Ray healed Luthor's gunshot wound and Superman's fatal kryptonite wounds[28]), Smoke Manipulation (Built a robot who could manipulate smog[6]), Poison Manipulation (Via Knockout Gas[28]), Invisibility (As seen here[2]), Electricity Manipulation (Zapped Supergirl[17]), BFR (Can send enemies to billions of years into the future with the Time-Travel-Ray[17]), Weather Manipulation ("Ripped apart" a thunderstorm[17]), Magnetism Manipulation (Via his Magnetic Remote[17]), Gas Manipulation (Via Kryptonite Gas[17]), Telepathy (Via the thought caster[29]) Energy Manipulation, Statistics Amplification, Self-Destruction (Amplified the energy within Superman to high levels, amplifying his powers and causing him to nearly self-destruct[6]), Matter Manipulation, Intangibility (Via his De-Polarizer[6]), Light Manipulation (Built a robot who fired a beam of light[6]), Morality Manipulation (His Malingo Beam could turn people evil[10]), Water Manipulation (Made it rain poison water[9]), Empathic Manipulation (Made a drink that could relieve 'neural tension'[9], Summoning (Has built various robots to assist him, such as Kim-Puter[9] and Genia), Mind Duplication (Built a device that could copy the mind of someone to put it in a robot[9]), Sound Manipulation (Can communicate great distances with his clairvoyant technology[9]), Aura (His aura is indestructible even for Supergirl[30]), Adhesive Manipulation (Via his adhesive liquid kryptonite[30]), Body Puppetry (Under the guise of "Mr. Mystr", he gained a "voodoo doll" that could latch onto opponents via their brainwaves[5], applications of this doll include Statistics Reduction (Reduced Superman's strength to that of a regular human[5]), Power Nullification, Density Manipulation (Caused Superman to grow in density and lose his power of flight[5]), Status Effect Inducement (Paralyzed Superman[5]), Fire Manipulation (Set a Superman Robot ablaze[5]), Vibration Manipulation (Upon holding a voodoo doll in his image, he began to violently vibrate[5]), Perception Manipulation (Blinded Superman and messed with his sense of direction[5]), Ice Manipulation (Froze over a waterfall[31]), Illusion Creation (Created an illusionary version of Metropolis[3]), Deconstruction (Which would have disintegrated Metropolis upon impact[3]), Damage Boost (His forcefield can actually increase the damage dealt to whosever inside[32]), Madness Manipulation (After gaining control of the Mind Molder, he nearly drove Superman insane[7]), Earth Manipulation, Sand Manipulation, Magma Manipulation (Created and later gained complete mental control over the Planet-Eater, which caused countless forms of natural disasters, including thunderstorms, tornadoes, earthquakes, floods and more[4]), Sense Manipulation, Memory Manipulation (The Planet-Eater could also manipulate Superman's senses and memories[4]), Solar Radiation Manipulation, Gravity Manipulation, Instinctive Reaction (As well a instinctively attack, blast solar radiation, and manipulate its own gravity[4]), Duplication (Built copies of himself[4])

Attack Potency: At least Street level physically (Far superior to Lex Luthor[11]). Solar System level, Universe level over time with Preparation and Fusionism (Created and became one with the Planet-Eater, an object that can eventually mass-energy convert stars and could grow in power to reduce the entire universe to a void, where only it exists[4]). Unknown with Mental Powers (Imbued Superman with the power to revive a dead sun[7]) | At least Multi-Continent level (As Brainiac is effectively one with his ship, he should no doubt be superior to a probe which could destroy a planet[20])

Speed: Relativistic+, possibly Speed of Light combat and reaction speed (His computer mind is comparable to light and allowed him to easily dodge light-speed attacks[4]), possibly Massively FTL+ (somewhat matched Superman who was going all out[3])

Lifting Strength: At least Superhuman (Far stronger than humans[3]), Unknown but far higher with Tractor Beams (Lifted the city of Kandor when it was only slightly shrunken) | Unknown

Striking Strength: At least Street level | Unknown

Durability: City Block level for his outer shell (Though he was incapacitated, his armor was unaffected by an explosion of this calibre), likely Multiverse level+ with forcefields (With his forcefield, he managed to withstand blows from Superman who was explicitly going all out, though it was implied that he wouldn't be able to keep this up for long[3] An uncontrollable, heavily empowered Superman still somewhat struggled with tearing down his forcefield, and lost the majority of his strength doing so[33]) | Unknown

Stamina: Seemingly Infinite (Though he had to sleep in his earliest appearances, this was mostly to pass the time and has been retconned and he's been later shown to have effectively infinite stamina)

Range: Several Meters with energy blasts, Citywide with his Tractor Beams (Can shrink entire cities), Planetary with stronger weapons (Could shrink Earth), Stellar with some weapons (Made a star go nova), Universal with strongest weapons' (The Planet-Eater was going to reduce the entire universe to nothing), Intergalactic in his incorporeal form (Absorbed the knowledge from hundreds of millions of galaxies)

Standard Equipment: Countless weapons, vehicles, and machines, all of which are documented in his Powers and Abilities section

Intelligence: Supergenius (His mind is orders of magnitude superior to the infinite minds of the 10th Level Effectors, who themselves were several orders of magnitude superior than the smartest Coluans, who themselves were orders of magnitude smarter than humans.[1] Absorbed all the knowledge in the entire universe and of all time, from the dawn of creation until its end,[19], and compared his former self to a mere child.[19]

Weaknesses: Vulnerable to hacking, electricity, and other typical robotic short-comings.
