This happened to me once with a Dragon Ball thread. I accidentally edited a user's comment thinking it was my own comment (I was a bit distracted at the time), and, after I noticed what happened, I tried to remove the edits from my contributions, but it ended up eerasing the whole thread.

So no, this isn't a one-off glitch. It happens rather frequently.
