From the source code perspective, these two variants are still different. There're profiles that utilize both variants, i.e. one marked list utilizes the spaceless format, while another one utilizes the space one. Isn't consistency important on any high-quality wiki of our size? Such cases of inconsistency may confuse editors who check out source code: do they have to follow one or another way of an editing aspect.
In addition, I started this thread because of Agnaa disagreeing with Tllmbrg removing the spaces in marked lists. I'm aware of the global wiki projects, however, the main purpose of this thread is just to make a regulation on spaces after asterisks in marked lists. It's better to resolve the issue, otherwise there might be other similar conflicts between our wiki type members in the future.
Later on, depending on the decision, pages will follow the first, the second, or both formats. Of course we can't magically make everything the same at once via magic stick or the like – it'll still require work from our experienced members. After all, there was, is, and will always be clean up work to do.
