“ | Blaze was dishonorably discharged from the police force when she refused to take anger management classes after punching the commissioner in the face over an ethical disagreement. These days she works as a dance instructor and choreographer for local musicals. She still has a bad habit of getting into street brawls. With her ear over the ground, she picked up on rumblings of a new crime syndicate and immediately started calling in old favors. | „ |

Summary
Blaze Fielding is one of the main protagonists in Sega's beat 'em up series Streets of Rage (also known as Bare Knuckle in Japan).
A police officer before the events of the first game, she quits the force as the gangster Mr. X's corruption spreads across Wood Oak City, choosing to fight his Syndicate on her own terms when the police reveals itself to be far too corrupt to interfere, with the help of fellow ex-cops Axel Stone and Adam Hunter.
In Streets of Rage 2, one year later, Blaze, who has left the police to become a dance teacher, discovers that Adam has been kidnapped by a returning Mr. X, and finds himself forced to fight against the Syndicate once again, with the help of Axel, as well as his friend pro wrestler Max Thunder and Adam's kid brother Skate.
In Streets of Rage 3, following a terrorist attack by an insane Mr. X who now seeks to plunge Earth into a world war, Blaze, now a Special Investigations officer, sides with Axel, Skate and Syndicate abdicate Dr. Zan to defeat him once and for all, the stakes higher than ever.
After the final death of Mr. X, Blaze was once again expelled from the police force after assaulting a superior over a disagreement, once again becoming a dance instructor. Still very much in contact with Wood Oak City's underground, she is the first to learn of the creation of the new Syndicate founded by Mr. X's children, Mr. and Ms. Y, joining forces with Axel, Adam's daughter Cherry Hunter and Gilbert Zan's apprentice, Floyd Iraia, in Streets of Rage 4.

Intelligence: Gifted. Blaze is an incredibly talented martial artist, having brought down entire crime syndicates to their knees with just the help of a few peers, and defeated many other masters of combat, even in disadvantageous situations. An extremely skilled fighter capable of defeating gangs of criminals and squads of policemen alike, Blaze has fought and defeated every one of the many professional fighters trained specifically to defeat him by the Syndicate,[22] including alien robots,[17] pro boxers,[23] a robotic doppelganger of himself,[24] squads of ninjas, Yamato, a samurai capable of performing magical feats such as duplication or invisibility,[1] teams of jetpack-wielding foes,[9] various[2] combat[19] machines[25] or foes armed with hi-tech energy weaponry and forcefields[26] as well as many other skilled martial artists on her level such as Shiva,[27] who fights with not only his mastery of kenpo but his ability to create several ki clones, the acrobatic Krav-Maga-using and grenade-lobbing cop Estel Aguirre,[28] her brainwashed old ally Max, a hulking pro wrestler,[29] or the children of her original nemesis, Mr. Y and Ms. Y,[30] and has since honed her skills further in an incredibly advanced VR system based on Mr. X's own brain.[31] Blaze is capable of performing a wide variety of kung-fu moves and "combo" enemies in various ways using many advanced techniques.[3]
Weaknesses: Special moves consume some health when used too frequently.
Notable Attacks/Techniques:
Blaze's fighting style is a modified, superpowered version of Judo combined with Blaze's nearly unparalleled acrobatic prowess befitting of a dancer, which combined with her abilities lets her nearly fly across the battlefield. Even when she was the weakest of the Streets of Rage 1 trio, Blaze's throwing attacks were the strongest, and they have remained among the most powerful in the playable cast after the introduction of more characters and Blaze's evolution into a speedy and acrobatic all-rounder. Blaze's special attacks often strike in wide, circular areas, giving them good defensive properties, though she also has access to more powerful, pinpoint strikes. She is not afraid to fight dirty against crime, with her move-set including knee strikes, headbutts and the usage of any weapon she can find on the streets.
(Note that the moves tagged with the acronym of any game in the series are only accessible to Blaze from that point in the series)
- Jab (Punch, Punch 2, Back Fist, Kakato): Blaze throws out a quick jab combo ending it with a kakato, a judo heel strike that she performs by kicking her leg up, which is an attack of its own, before slamming it down with enough force to launch enemies. Blaze can cancel her jab combo by jumping as she's performing it to continue it into an aerial combo.
- Charged Attack: Blaze can perform the back fist part of her jab combo at any time, as its own attack.
- Grapple: Blaze grabs the enemy and holds them close. All throws can be used to stun other nearby enemies.
- Flurry/Fury: Blaze delivers two knee bows, before punching them against the ground.
- Grab Neutral Attack (Front Push): Blaze performs a judo throw, wrapping her leg around the opponent's while pushing them forward.
- Grab Back Throw: Blaze rolls backwards, throwing the enemy with all his momentum using her leg. Good for hitting other enemies.
- Vault: Blaze flips above the enemy while still holding them, ending up behind them. She can also leap upwards and away from the enemy mid-vault with a vault jump.
- Backdrop (Slam): A throw that can only be executed from behind. Blaze performs a suplex hard enough to knock away any enemies near the point of impact.
- Back Attack: A quick crouching foot slide thrown at anything behind Blaze.
- Air Attacks
- Neutral Jump Attack: Blaze performs a forward kick while twisting away from the enemy.
- Forward Jump Attack: Blaze throws a long-lasting and long-reaching forward kick.
- Down Jump Attack (Air Chop): Blaze performs a downward chop.
- Combo Jump Attack (Air Kick Juggle): Blaze throws out a straight kick at a downward angle after a downwards jump attack (SoR4).
- Weapon Catch: Blaze can snatch weapons thrown at him by enemies out of the air, even bladed ones (SoR4).
- Weapon Throw
A variety of particularly noteworthy and powerful moves. All specials but Blitz and Star Moves consume some health, which in Streets of Rage 4 is visualizes as part of the health bar becoming green. If they are hurt by outside influences, the character will lose all green health alongside taking however much damage they would have. However if the character can land some attacks, their green health will be replenished as if they had not suffered that damage. Furthermore, cautious and occasional usage of specials does not consume health, as represented by an "OK" meter in Streets of Rage 3 filling up when a special can be used again safely. Blitz, Star and Defensive Specials have been noted to give at least some invincibility when used, though this may just be a gameplay mechanic.
- Blitz: A powerful forward special attack, comes with no cost of health (SoR2).
- Hishousouzan: Blaze leaps forward, with the jump itself being an attack, and then performs a full-body spin attack with energy coating her hands.
- Elbow Strike: Blaze holds her elbow out and dashes forward at high speeds.[32]
- Chou Reppa Dan: Blaze rolls forward with great strength, transitioning her momentum into a leaping kick to end the move. (SoR3[32]).
- Rekkaken: Blaze focuses yellow energy in her hand and then rushes forward and then dashes forward, hitting enemies multiple times with it (SoR4[32]).
- Defensive Special: A special that usually hits all around the user, great for knocking enemies away (SoR2).
- Embukyaku/Embuukyaku: Blaze performs a leaping cartwheel kick, moving backwards as she kicks away enemies both in front of and behind her.
- Spinning Dive: Blaze jumps and begins spinning rapidly, her hands covered in energy.[32]
- Energy Burst: Blaze jumps up, blasting nearby enemies away with energy (SoR3[32]).
- Uraken Uchi: Blaze rapidly punches forward and backwards, emanating long-ranged bursts of energy in both directions (SoR4[32]).
- Offensive Special: A special aimed forward, usually more powerful and longer-ranged than a Defensive Special, but less useful for defense (SoR2).
- Kikou Shou/Kikosho: Blaze holds both hands forward, shooting a short range but powerful energy blast. In Streets of Rage 3 she performs a modified version of this attack with one hand then powers it up with the other.
- Aerial Grab: Blaze leaps forward and turns around, performing several rapid airborne Embukyaku.[32]
- Spirit Knife: Blaze performs an uppercut with an energy knife held in a reverse grip (SoR3[32]).
- Hien Zan: Blaze performs two consecutive airborne versions of Embukyaku. slowly ascending as she does so (SoR4[32]).
- Air Special: A special attack used in mid-air. Often useful to ensure a safe landing or continue a combo (SoR4).
- Tobi Kyaku: Blaze shoots forward and slightly upward, her legs coated in energy, kicking the enemy. This move is particularly effective both as a movement option and a combo tool, as it can be performed twice in midair.
- Shin Hishousouzan: An air version of Hishousouzan where Blaze descends as she performs it, spiking down on the enemy.[32]
- Star Move: A character's most powerful moves. Utilized by expending a star icon consumable in Streets of Rage 4, and though this is likely a gameplay mechanic not reflective of canon, it may indicate that they cannot be used too often.
- Police Call: Not an actual technique. Blaze simply calls for support, and a police car drives by, helping Blaze by blasting the battle ground with napalm.
- Drill Kick: Blaze pushes herself up and forward with her hands, then performs a drilling kick as she abruptly descends.[32]
- Tumbling: Blaze performs Embukyaku twice while facing away from the enemy and rapidly moving towards them, before pushing both herself and the enemy higher and hitting them with another kick (SoR2).
- Ring of Fire: Blaze quickly draws a circle around herself with her foot, and geysers of flame appear all around her where the foot touched, completely surrounding her and lasting for a few seconds[32] (SoR2).
- Whirlwind Strike: (SoR2) Blaze creates a whirlwind that sweeps a wide area with a flying kick[33]).
- Razor Sliding Tackle: Blaze performs a forward somersault kick and transitions that momentum into a powerful slide kick (SoR3).
- Slice and Dice: Blaze creates a knife made of energy and performs a rapid attack combo with it[32] (SoR3).
- Tamagi Age: Blaze hovers upwards slowly, gathering energy as she performs a hand motion that doubles an attack, before gathering it into an energy pattern that blasts away nearby enemies (SoR4).
- Shin Kikou Shou: Blaze performs a Kikou Shou, following up a second energy blast with a third, far bigger and more powerful one[32] (SoR4).
