- Damage Boost (The Power Gem increases one's power[1][6])
- Speed Amplification, Intangibility, and Forcefield Creation (The Time Gem amplifies one's speed.[1][6] Users are also capable of dashing past opponents and through projectiles in short dashes.[6] When used by T'Challa, the Time Gem created a barrier beyond time that protected Valkanda from outside threats[6])
- Energy Projection, Homing Attack, Explosion Manipulation, Air Manipulation, Fire Manipulation, Ice Manipulation, Electricity Manipulation, and Invisibility (The Reality Gem allows its user to fire energy spheres,[1] explosive pumpkins,[1] or slow energy bursts that home in on targets.[6] Its Infinity Surge projects a wind blade, a floor of ice that freezes opponents, a beam of fire, and a bolt of lightning from above, all of which home on its opponents.[6] When used by Blackheart, he can temporarily become invisible, allowing him to become a more elusive opponent[1]),
- Defence Boost, Sealing, and Energy Manipulation (The Space Stone grants Super Armour, a state in which most attacks will fail to stagger its user.[1] It also traps targets within a cube of energy, restricting their movement and leaving them vulnerable to combos[6])
- Status Effect Inducement (Performing a throw attack successfully when using the Mind Stone inflicts a stun effect[6])
- Healing and Life Drain (The Soul Stone refills one's health[1] and grants them the ability to use a long ranged energy attack that drains an opponent of their own health[6]), Purification and Mind Control Negation (Merely grasping the Soul Gem cured Thor of the Sigma Virus as well as breaking him out of Ultron-Sigma's control[6])

Standard Equipment: None notable.
- Optional Equipment: The Infinity Gems
- Power Gem
- Time Gem
- Reality Gem
- Space Gem
- Mind Gem
- Soul Gem
Intelligence: Gifted (Blackheart is known to be rather clever, often silently scheming ways in which to achieve his goals. Although inferior to his father in power, his activities outside of the Underworld have supposedly caused significant trouble for Mephisto.[8] Furthermore, he is not the type to overestimate his own abilities, such as how he knew that using a completed Infinity Gauntlet against his father would be the best way to oppose him[1]), Combat Genius (Blackheart is a surprisingly skilled fighter, boasting the prowess to defeat Ryu, Spider-Man, Zangief, Captain America, and Chun-Li at the same time[4])
Weaknesses: Due to Mephisto taking away Blackheart's sanity,[7] it is likely this was done to weaken his sense of judgement, meaning he is likely less cunning than as he was prior to his banishment. Blackheart can only wield one Infinity Gem at a time.

- Time Gem: Blackheart can use the Time Gem to increase his movement speed for a brief time. In Infinite, the Infinity Surge version allows the user to move a set distance forward or backwards in the form of an instant dash that goes through the opponent and their attacks.
- Reality Gem: Blackheart can use the Reality Gem to create three different elemental projectiles across the screen; electric spheres, icicles and fire orbs. In Marvel Super Heroes, Blackheart can turn invisible, making himself more difficult for his opponents to fight against. In Infinite, the Infinity Surge version will make the user launch a slow, homing energy burst with each use.
- Space Gem: Blackheart can use the Space Gem to increase his defense for a period of time, which reduces damage taken from his opponent's attacks. In Infinite, the Infinity Surge version allows the user to push the opponent forward or backwards, and the Infinity Storm version seals them in a large, square force cage which restricts their movement for a while.
- Mind Gem: Blackheart can use the Mind Gem to constantly refill his Hyper Combo gauge for a short period of time. In Infinite, the Infinity Surge version provides the user a special throw attack which instantly stuns an opponent if hit.
- Soul Gem: Blackheart can use the Soul Gem to increase/fill his health for a short period of time. In Infinite, the Infinity Surge version grants the user a far-reaching energy attack which absorbs health off the opponent upon hit.
