Summary
Berdly is a minor character in Chapter 1 of Deltarune and the secondary antagonist of Chapter 2, as one of Kris's classmates and early rivals. The smugly self-proclaimed "Number 1" student in school and Noelle's study partner. In the Dark World, he willingly becomes one of Queen's minions, obsessed with creating a "Smartopia" for himself and Noelle.

Intelligence: Above Average (Berdly's academic record places him above the average, yet his status as top student owes much to Noelle's assistance in studying. Despite this, his combat capabilities are nothing short of remarkable, posing a threat and a challenge to the Delta Warriors. He is able to use his halberd with deftness and finesse despite only recently arriving to the Dark World, and his special abilities are executed with great precision. In fact, Berdly even succeeded in bluffing Queen into fleeing at the conclusion of their battle)
Weaknesses: Berdly is overconfident in his abilities, and can be easily deceived.

Spells: Like most Lightners, Berdly has access to a number of magic spells:
- Tornado: Berdly creates four walls of tornadoes that cover the battlefield and head towards his opponent. Berdly can also summon four tornadoes around his enemies, enclosing and surrounding them in all directions.
- Chirashi: Berdly shoots papers with "A+" written on them. In the Snowgrave Route, Berdly shoots more papers per wave, with reduced time between waves.
- Spear Blast: Berdly shoots a trail of projectiles in a curvy line, telegraphed by a thin red line. The trail stays for a moment, before releasing small projectiles that point in the direction they will fly. In the Snowgrave Route, the number of attacks is doubled and this attack is also faster and stronger than usual.
