Summary
Automatons are NPCs in Gingiva that work in the factories. They were formerly normal human women who had heads cut off and replaced with synthetic material to circumvent their sentimental tendencies. Different automatons have different objects replacing their heads, which seem to relate to the different positions they hold in the workplace.
In the story arc where the player takes control of the Reptile Twins, the automatons are hostile towards them, presumably out of anger and resentment for being mistreated by those in positions of power higher than them, and will attack the twins on sight. Some bosses in the game like Your Mom and The Magistrate can summon Automatons during battle.
