Summary[]
Assassin Bugs are human-sized insectoid creatures that typically swarm the frontier areas of civilization. Sages suspect they are artificially created, due to the stunted humanoid appendages they bear- though no conclusive evidence has been drawn up to confirm this. Their greatest danger is their ability to implant their young inside of a host, killing them from within unless direct magical assistance is had, or unless the host is burned alive. The young consume their host from within until ultimately "hatching" from the creature.
Certain monstrous races purposefully cultivate these creatures- such as hags for usage in terrible spellcasting, or trolls, who actively allow the young assassin bug to fester within them so they can be extracted later for consumption.
