Summary
Ark is the protagonist of the SNES JRPG Terranigma, considered to be a spiritual sequel to Soul Blazer and Illusion of Gaia. A young, hot-headed boy whose impulsiveness seems to doom the village of Crysta, Ark sets out on a quest to restore the world's natural order after it was destroyed in a battle between good and evil, as represented by the deities Light Gaia and Dark Gaia, and lead humanity onto the right path.

Range: Extended Melee Range, up to Tens of Meters with most magic, Interdimensional with a Heaven Ring.
Jewel Box: A small box used to store magical rings and pins. Magic items in Terranigma run on Magirocks, magical stones that can be utilized to create one-time use magical items, which then return the Magirock to its default state again, to be fashioned into a magical item by an expert again. Rings cast an elemental spell, while Pins (Medals in the manual) summon the aid of one of Ark's allies[1]. Magirock cost is listed in parenthesis after the spell's name. Note that the only magical items available to Ark in his first key are the basic Fire and Ice Rings, while the last 3 summons and spells each are only available in Chapter 3 and onward.
- Fire Ring/FireRing (1) - Fire Flame: Ark temporarily shoots fire from his fingertips, and can control the path of the flames.
- Ice Ring/IceRing (1) - Ice Arrow: Small blocks of ice are shot from Ark's fingertips to strike enemies.
- Lightning Ring/ZapRing (2) - Plasma Ring: Rings of plasma are shot from the tip of Ark's weapon for a while. Especially effective against mechanical opponents.
- Earth Ring/GeoRing (1) - Earthshake: A savage tremor is created to stop all enemies in their tracks for a short time.
- Light Ring/RayRing (1) - Aura Shoot: A powerful spell that launches an immense orb of light from Ark's fingertips.
- Blaze Ring/PyroRing (2) - Welldum: Creates an immense ball of fire to attack all enemies in sight.
- Blizzard Ring/SnowRing (2) - Blizzard: A harsh blizzard is created around Ark to seriously harm all enemies in sight.

- Neo's Fang: A powerful scythe tipped with a fang supplied by Neo, the king of all animals.

- Bird Suit: An extremely light but durable armor made by stitching together countless feathers of the Kingbird.
- Fur Coat: A coat made of animal fur that protects against intense cold and ice attacks.

Intelligence: Gifted. Very skilled and clever fighter. Taught himself how to swim[3] very quickly, albeit with the help of makeshift fins, and learned how to fly a plane just as immediately. Is the leading force behind most of the world's progress, completing various quests such as helping certain inventors invent the camera, stained glass, electricity, airplanes and the telephone, popularizing wine as well as several foods and Matis' paintings such as canned sardines across the world and effectively inventing the hamburger himself[2].
Weaknesses: Ark's supply of magic items is limited by the Magirocks he owns, and all of them expire after one use.

- Standard: A simple, quick weapon poke.
- Rushing: A rapid combo of attacks that's particularly effective against well-defended foes.
- Slicer: A dashing thrust that allows Ark to easily catch up with foes.
- Spinner: A spinning air attack that lands into a horizontal slash, useful for attacking foes out of the air.
- Slider: A dashing, jumping attack where Ark dives against the ground weapon-first, then transitions the momentum into a kicking slide.
- X-Guard: A forcefield that can be used to block attacks. Only effective against projectiles.
