I spent years on an operating table as they tried to make their own version of Superman. By trial and error. I escaped. I tried to go home. My father suddenly had two reasons to say I wasn't human. But I didn't stop. The aliens. My father. Invasion's from another universe. None of it stopped me, I lived for myself. Not him. Not them. Do you think you can break me? People have been trying to break me my entire life. | „ |
~ Apollo to Neron |
Summary
Andrew Pulaski lived a troubled life. As a child, he was raised in a fundamentalist religious and military family with parents who didn't approve of his sexuality and kicked him out of their house. After escaping from alien abductors who experimented on him, an angry and confused Pulaski adopted the name Apollo and acted as an angry and misanthropic, but well-meaning superhero. Apollo was soon recruited by the team StormWatch, where he would meet his would-be husband, Midnighter. Together with his lover and new friends, Apollo would grow into a much kinder individual over time, gaining a compassionate, if strained, appreciation of humanity.
