Summary
Ankhegs are enormous burrowing insects that hunt smaller prey via detecting tremors through the ground. Among the earliest monsters added to Dungeons and Dragons, they have persisted through every edition, providing a solid example of an iconic low-level creature. Invariably an Ankheg is larger than a cattle and tends to weigh just under 400 kilos.
