Summary
Andy Bogard is the deuteragonist of the Fatal Fury series. He and his brother Terry were born in South Town, as the sons of the legendary fighter Jeff Bogard. When they were ten, Jeff was murdered by the crime boss Geese Howard before their very eyes. The brothers swore to become strong and one day avenge their father. During a trip to Japan, Andy met Hanzo Shiranui, the head of the House of Shiranui, a 400-years old clan of ninjas, becoming his student. There, he also got acquainted to Hanzo's nephew, Mai Shiranui, who will become his fianceè.
Years later, the "King of Fighters" was held in South Town, and along his brother and their newfound friend Joe Higashi, Andy entered the tournament, but only Terry managed to reach the final and defeat Geese. Andy moved stably to Japan to continue his training and nourish his relationship with Mai. In the time to come, he entered the "King of Fighters" held by Wolfgang Krauser, returned to South Town to save it from the havok caused by the Jin scrolls and then joined the fourth "King of Fighters", hosted by a reborn Geese, but Terry once again snatched the victory from him. Andy will reappear ten years later, revealing himself as the master of Hokutomaru, the young prodigy of the House of Shiranui.
Unlike his brother, Andy is much more of a hard-worked and a diligent individual, focused almost only on training, with little room left for other hobbies. Nonetheless, he remains a young man as many others, and a caring brother, friend and partner, although he often gets overwhelmed by Mai's burning passion for him. Andy is 171 cm tall, weights 69 kg, likes training, silence and natto spaghetti, and dislikes dogs.[5]

The latter also stated that Andy was stronger than Jeff and Krauser.[7][8] Every Fatal Fury character can destroy large walls, pillars and many other structures)

In just a few years, Andy managed to master the arts passed down onto him by the House of Shiranui, earning his place as the future head[12] of the clan. In Fatal Fury 3 he was already an accomplished assistant instructor, and by the time of Garou: Mark of the Wolves, he revealed himself as Hokutomaru's teacher.[13] His movements are so fluid and sharp, that he resembles a ninja even more than Mai.[12] His fighting skill can be compared to Terry's, and he was the only other person who could have defeated Geese Howard, even multiple times. Participated in three "The King of Fighters" tournaments, and also fought many adversaries when South Town was being ravaged by the chaos caused by the Jin scrolls. He has studied all kinds of martial arts, always maintains a perfect posture no matter what he does and is able to predict his opponent's attacks through mental imagery.[6] Andy is also rather skilled in short track[5])
Weaknesses: None notable.
Note: Andy and Terry are the only two characters who can trigger unique dialogues and cutscenes before and after battling Geese in Fatal Fury 3 and Real Bout Fatal Fury Special. While Terry is the one who canonically defeated Geese, there's no reason to not consider Andy's alternate story as a valid what-if.[7][8]
Fighting Style: Since his childhood, Andy was trained by his father in Hakkyokuseiken, an art that mixes various chinese styles and teaches how to harness the life energy known as Ki. Jeff learned it from Tung Fu Rue and wanted to pass it to his sons, but he was killed before he could complete their instruction. Having had to train alone, the brothers parted ways, each looking for their own path. Andy had always been a step behind his brother because of his small physique, and so he sought a way to turn such weakness into a strength. He travelled to Japan and went under the tutelage of Hanzo Shiranui, the head of the Shiranui ninja clan at the time. Andy's inner talent bloomed, and in just a few years he mastered the ancient Shiranui ninjutsu and Koppojutsu, a style which focuses on breaking the bones and joints of the body.
