Alan Keane is a supporting character in The Amazing World of Gumball. He is an extraordinarily friendly teal balloon who is a student at Elmore Junior High. Alan is a very optimistic and diligent person, always working hard to try to make the world a better place and aspires to make the world such a good place that no one will have a reason to be sad. He has a high-pitched voice, and is currently dating Carmen.

When Elmore Junior High was having its student president elections, Alan had a very elaborate plan that he wrote in a document about becoming the student president and purging Elmore Junior High of its greatest problem; the students not being happy to be in school. In it, there were many details about being charismatic, influencing students to vote for him and gaining publicity. His plan after being elected, was to send sad students to the Lake Camp on the weekends. Alan is preposterously emotionally mature and tough, as even after Gumball tried to psychologically break him by ruining his social life, tricking his girlfriend Carmen into thinking he was cheating on her, and selling his parents, Alan was not mad. Alan somehow fixed everything with his outstanding morals, forgave Gumball and pretended to be angry at something petty in order to make Gumball feel like he won).
Weaknesses: Alan has an overly-optimistic perspective on the world, envisioning it as soon to be perfect, and is often a pushover to others like Gumball. Also, being a balloon, he loses the ability to fly if he doesn't have air in him.
